Tejas Mudra is a powerful hand mudra that connects awareness with the Heart Chakra, Anahata, which informs the lungs, airways and the conduits for oxygen, vital life force and detoxification, both physical and energetic within the whole system. In this version, you are guided into a deep awareness and connection with the heart light generated through the breath and then to send that light to others. The mudra is assumed at around 11 mins into the guidance.

Tettas Mudra Meditation Adjust your posture and make sure that your base is well supported The spine is upright,

Long and elegant Lengthening the spine for practices such as this is excellent because the prana or vajra maifas that it invokes runs the circuits up and down the spinal column Place your feet on the ground beneath you Have a little wiggle and get out any kinks in the spine,

In the shoulders Move your head,

Look over your left shoulder and then look over your right shoulder to open up the ligaments of the neck Now bring your body into stillness and into centre and close your eyes Firstly audit the nature of your natural breath before we go into this practice because we'll check back on that at the end of the practice Breathing normally,

Notice what story your breath is telling you now Notice if the breath feels deep and long or if it's shallow and short Notice the movement of your breath or whether it feels constricted or tight Notice the sound of the breath By simply putting your awareness on your breath,

The breath will respond The breath is a mystery It's the only function of your breath It's the only function of our autonomic nervous system that we can control It's essential to life It's our exchange and connectivity with the atmosphere Every time you breathe in,

You're breathing in information,

Pheromones,

Chemicals,

Temperature,

Sense and every time you breathe out,

You're exchanging yourself with the atmosphere You're exchanging DNA and atoms We feel like we're separate,

That we're bound in skin But we're not,

We're porous We're essentially connected with the atmosphere around us We contribute to it and we receive from it And the atmosphere itself is one connected field The air that you're breathing now has passed through oceans and skies It has been breathed by the forests and the jungles of the world Every breath is a connection with the planet and every other creature that breathes Every breath is a connection with the planet and every other creature that breathes And now our practice of Nadi Shraddhana will begin Bringing the hands up to the face in whichever way you choose Gently block the right nostril And breathing just on the left side to start In to the left,

The long thin inhalation And exhale to the left Don't rush the breath Breathing in to the left And out to the left In to the left And out to the left In to the left And out to the left Allow all the air to leave the body Switching sides now,

Breathing in to the right And out to the right In to the right And out to the right In to the right And out to the right In to the right And out to the right,

Allowing all the air to leave your body Now,

Quick alternations In to the right And out to the left In to the left And out to the right In to the right And out to the left In to the left And out to the right In to the right And out to the left In to the left And out to the right In to the right And out to the left Allow all the air to leave your body Bring your hands down and take a big yogic breath in,

Filling from the base of the belly all the way up to the collarbone Hold the breath And release now in a long smooth stream from the body And for the next few breaths,

Breathe as if they were the first breaths your body has ever taken Feel the joy in the breath Feel the abundance in the breath Feel the life in the breath Feel the tracks of the breath through your body With every breath,

Every single red blood cell in your body flashes bright red as it receives the oxygen Expand your awareness and feel into the whole body breathing We breathe through our skin Have the feeling that you are breathing through the entire organ of your skin Every inhalation and exhalation is the pulse of life in and out Like the tides,

Like the heartbeats,

Like the day and night The breath is a spiral,

Feel that spiral in your body breathing in and then curving the breath around and out When we breathe,

We engage with the archetypal pattern of life And now within that pattern of life,

As you're breathing,

Open up your intention to send the life force,

The abundance,

The heart light that comes with every breath to those who most need it You are the breather for others right now You may receive an impression of who you're breathing for in this practice Perhaps the first breath of a newborn baby,

The last breath of a person passing It may be someone highly anxious or in fear It may just be a feeling,

Your awareness maintaining a spiralling breath,

An open field And now when you're ready,

You can assume Tejas Mudra Bring your hands to the heart,

Connecting the length of the thumbs,

Connecting the tips of the index fingers,

Touching them and then touching them to the top of the thumbs The middle,

Ring and little fingers opening up and out like a lotus And for the next five minutes,

In your own way now,

Connect the Mudra with the spiral pattern of life within your field and for who you're holding and breathing for As your centre grows,

Your breath becomes universal,

You can gently raise the index fingers,

Still touching each other but raise them above the tips of the thumbs Just the expansive effect that this tiny movement makes as you continue to breathe And now your breath becomes universal,

You can gently raise the index finger,

Touching the lips of the thumbs,

Touching the lips of the thumbs And now your breath becomes universal,

You can gently raise the index finger,

Touching the lips of the thumbs,

Touching the lips of the thumbs Now when you're ready,

You can release the Mudra and very gently fold in your field of awareness,

Folding in,

Coming right back into the sensation of your body And just take a moment to observe the effects of the practice,

Returning once again to the character of your natural breath How has it shifted?

Feel the energy pulsing and humming in the hands from the effect of the Mudra,

Light through breath Gently bring some movement to the body in whichever way you need to,

Coming right back into presence and into this meditation You can create some warmth with your hands by rubbing them together and place warm hands over closed eyes and use that heat to ground you back into your body,

Back into your surroundings And when you're ready,

You can open your eyes Our practice of Tejas Mudra Meditation is now complete

I loved this, thank you. I couldn’t quite visualize what the mudra looked like...but it was effective nonetheless!
