Welcome to the practice of yoga nidra,

Deep yogic sleep,

Providing you the opportunity to slip deep into a state of relaxation,

To restore and repair.

Find a comfortable place where you can lie down fully,

Using props underneath your head and neck and your knees.

Perhaps a rolled blanket or a pillow to support your head and neck.

A rolled blanket under your knees to support the curvature of your back.

A light covering over your body to stay warm.

An eye mask or eye pillow to really allow yourself to slip deeper into the state of tranquility.

Getting comfortable here,

Making any other last minute adjustments before finding stillness.

Begin to notice your breath,

Inhaling for the count of one and exhaling for the count of two.

Inhaling for the count of one.

Exhaling for the count of two.

Begin to think about what your sankopa will be for this practice.

An affirmation or mantra,

Something that you want to cultivate in your life.

Something that your heart is longing for or your deepest desire.

Creating an affirmation in the present tense terms,

Using the words,

I am.

Repeating your sankopa silently to yourself three times.

During this practice of yoganidra,

Accept whatever each moment has to offer.

No room for judgment here.

Have awareness but not thought.

Listen to my voice and only my voice.

Set yourself free from all other sounds.

Do not sleep.

Make an agreement with yourself to not fall asleep.

If you do,

Do not have judgment on yourself.

Just get back into listening to my voice.

You are relaxed but not asleep.

You are conscious that you are practicing yoganidra.

Listen to my voice and only my voice.

Bring awareness to the present moment of your breath.

The breath flowing in and out through the nostrils.

Breathing deep inhalations and deep exhalations.

Know that you are in a safe place.

You are supported by the earth beneath you.

You are surrounded by safety and supported by love.

Let your body sink even further into the surface.

Nothing else matters right now.

You have nowhere else to be and nothing else to do.

Simply be here and feel your body as you listen to my voice.

Do not worry if you do not hear everything I say.

It is natural to flow in and out of conscious hearing.

The deepest part of you,

Your core self,

Is always listening.

Whatever you experience today,

This practice will still work.

There is no wrong way to do this.

Simply listen without trying.

Bring awareness to your mouth.

Be aware of the whole body.

Begin to feel your whole body breathing.

Feeling your breath as it flows in and out through the surface of your skin.

Allowing yourself to surrender into this steady,

Peaceful state.

Breathing with each breath.

Begin to count your exhales starting from the number 21 and counting down.

Focusing on the exhales,

Slipping deeper into a state of relaxation with every breath.

If you slip into relaxation and forget which number you are on,

It is okay.

Begin again at the number 21.

The whole body.

The whole back.

The whole back.

The whole back.

The whole back.

The whole back.

The whole back.

The whole back.

Releasing the counting of the breath.

Bring awareness to the base of the spine.

Imagine a vibrant ball of red light glowing at the base of the spine.

I am fully grounded,

Safe and secure.

I am stable,

Strong and healthy.

I am successful and money flows easy to me.

Bring awareness to the space between your hips.

Imagine a vibrant ball of orange light and energy.

I am free to express myself.

I am creative.

Life is easy for me.

Bring awareness to your navel.

Imagine a vibrant ball of yellow light and energy.

I am powerful.

I am confident.

I am driven to succeed.

Bring awareness to the heart.

Imagine a vibrant ball of green light and energy.

I am loving and lovable.

I forgive myself and those in my past.

I am deeply compassionate.

Bring awareness to your throat.

Imagine a vibrant ball of blue light and energy.

I know and speak my truth.

I am guided by my deepest purpose.

When I speak,

Others listen.

Bring awareness to the third eye,

The space between the brows.

Imagine a vibrant ball of purple light and energy.

I am connected to my intuition.

I follow my inner guide.

I always know exactly what to do and when.

Bring awareness to the crown of your head.

Imagine a vibrant ball of white light and energy.

I am connected to source.

I am connected to nature.

We are all one.

Bring awareness to your breath.

Feel the breath and note the exhale.

Imagine a wave passing through your body.

Carrying away any tension.

On your inhale,

Experience a fresh wave flowing upward through your whole body.

Bringing a sense of calm and purity.

With every exhale,

The wave flows downward through your body,

Releasing anything that no longer serves you.

On the inhale,

A fresh wave flows upward through your body,

Bringing a sense of cleansing.

Cultivate your inner voice and listen to your own inner wisdom.

Remember your sankopa,

Your affirmation.

Repeat your I AM statement silently to yourself three times.

You have created a fertile land of soil and you are now planting the seeds,

Holding your deepest intentions.

Your affirmation and sankopa is happening right now,

Feeling the sensations of the powerful words.

Notice your body and feel all the places where you touch the earth.

Notice all the space surrounding you.

Let your body expand wider into the space that surrounds you.

Feeling your rhythm and pace with every inhale and exhale.

You are now completing yoga nidra practice.

Slowly begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes.

Gently rock your head side to side.

Draw in deeper breaths into your belly and your chest.

Rock slowly over to your right side in a fetal position.

Pressing your left palm into the floor,

Keeping your eyes closed.

Slowly rise up to a comfortable seat,

Lengthening your spine.

Take a full breath in as you imagine a golden ray of divine light flowing through you.

And as you exhale,

You are emitting this golden ray of light back out into the universe.

Take notice how you feel right now.

Notice the effects of your relaxation practice.

Ever so slowly,

Allow your eyes to open with a soft gaze back into this room.
