Hi lovely,
This is your guided meditation to use at any time,
But especially when you bleed.
While you are getting settled,
I want to share that this meditation is open to any folks and in particular for those that bleed.
Our society doesn't honor that we flow in different seasons.
We are expected to be on all of the time.
So when you have this time of bleeding which can bring up all different types of emotions and body pain and feelings,
How can you find time to rest?
How can you honor this cycle?
Maybe it's with something nourishing,
Maybe it's with this meditation.
The phases that we have throughout the month reflect the seasons around us and seasonally this is a time of winter and going inward.
Things die.
It's a time of rest.
When we bleed,
It's winter which reflects stillness.
Keeping in mind that rest can be challenging given the environments that many of us live in.
So how can you honor this time and it may look different for you versus the next person?
Finding a way to get comfortable,
Possibly wrap yourself in blankets.
Your muscles are soft right now so you might want to support them with pillows,
With blankets.
Maybe place a pillow under the legs releasing tension in the hips.
We also find that we are more clumsy during the first part of our bleed,
Less focused,
More watery.
So perhaps inviting that water element around you with some tea might be supportive.
If it feels comfortable for you,
You can close the eyes.
Breathing in through the nose and exhale out the mouth.
Breathing in through the nose and exhale out the mouth.
With each exhale sinking deeper inviting in stillness.
Relaxing the head,
Releasing any tension in the jaw.
Let the arms and hands hang heavy,
The legs,
The feet.
Exhale into stillness.
What does the season of winter mean to you?
What does rest mean to you?
Exhale,
Release the breath.
Sinking deeper.
Bringing the hands to the womb area,
Perhaps rubbing the hands together,
Creating some heat and placing the hands so gently on the womb and breathe.
This can feel very tender.
This can feel sometimes emotional.
So the invitation is to take deep breaths.
You can place one hand on the heart area as well.
Breathing and bringing a sense of warmth and safety into this area.
Letting the warmth from your hands penetrate into the womb.
And again being okay with any tenderness that comes up.
Feeling the belly rise with the inhale,
Feeling the belly fall with the exhale.
Perhaps you can physically feel the body releasing,
Bleeding,
Releasing what's no longer needed in your life.
In this space,
In the now,
Letting things fall away,
Letting things die as they need to.
This is your blood.
You get to reclaim that.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Letting the hands stay on the womb area,
Letting the hands stay on the heart if that feels good for you.
Inviting in this energy of stillness,
This energy of winter for as long as you need to.
Perhaps evoking this energy into the physical space around you.
What does stillness look like to you?
Whatever that means,
How can you invite that in?
Even for a minute.
Maybe it is something tangible.
Taking a moment to tune into any messages that might be here for you.
The womb carries so much wisdom.
What does your womb desire to tell you in this moment?
Maybe it's a word,
A feeling,
Or something very subtle.
Breathe that in and breathe that out.
And of course,
If there are no messages,
That's okay.
Perhaps the message will come in another form.
Coming back to this feeling of coziness wrapped in your blankets,
Being supported by pillows,
Being supported by the ground.
Knowing that where you're at is okay,
Your bleed does not have to look like anyone else's.
Slowly beginning to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Truly taking your time here,
Taking up space.
Staying here for as long as you need to.
And when you feel ready,
If the eyes have been shut,
You can float them open.
Take a stretch.
Come back from your long winter's nap.
Holding that sense of stillness,
That feeling of winter so closely to the heart.
And when you need to connect,
You can place a hand on the womb area and breathe.
Knowing that it's okay if any emotions arise.
We always have the breath to come back to.
Our creation,
Our opening.
And so we inhale together one last time.
And we exhale.
