I'm going to invite you to remember a time when you were outside in nature and you came upon seeing something absolutely captivating,
Beyond beautiful.
Bring that memory to mind.
What was it?
What did it look like?
Take your breath away.
As you witnessed this incredibly special and beautiful moment in nature,
Filling you with absolute awe and wonder at that very peak moment.
Let's imagine that your awareness began to be drawn inward.
And as your awareness is drawn inward and as it goes in,
There's a sense of peace,
Excitement and awe.
There have been other times in your life where that awareness has seemed up close.
And then other times where that awareness has seemed very far off in the distance.
But just like we would explain to a child who asks after the sun sets,
Where did the sun go?
We would explain that the sun burns just as bright,
Just as hot at 5pm as it does at 5am.
Whatever goes away,
It's only our perception and proximity that changes.
The sun is always there.
So we could say that what you were actually becoming aware of in that moment,
At that very peak moment,
Is who you are.
People often identify with feelings that are not your thoughts,
Your behaviors,
Your habits.
People often identify with feelings,
Thoughts,
Behaviors,
Habits as though it's who they are.
But we're none of those.
For example,
If I have gas,
I might say,
I'm feeling really gassy today.
But I wouldn't introduce myself as gas.
But if a thought comes to mind and I'm thinking,
Gosh,
That's a really dumb thought.
I might introduce myself as stupid.
Oh,
I'm so stupid.
We identify not as our bodily systems,
But with thoughts.
But we're none of those.
Our essence never goes away.
Our thoughts do,
But not our essence.
So you have a body.
Your body belongs to you completely.
The body you had when you were three months old isn't the body you have now.
But you're still you,
Even though your body has changed.
So repeat after me.
Say,
I have a body.
My body belongs to me.
My body is mine,
But not me.
I have a foot.
I use my foot,
But I'm not a foot.
So don't call me a foot.
My body is mine,
But not me.
You are awe.
You are peace.
You are excitement.
You are appreciation.
That is who you truly are.
It has always been there,
And it will always be there.
Continue allowing your energy to soak deeply into your space,
All the way down to your tippy toes and to the backs of your heels,
Letting it fill you up completely,
Soaking into your tiny hair follicle across your body,
Into the marrow of your bone,
And into the spaces in between the spaces,
Drinking in your own essence.
That is truly always you,
Allowing yourself to be overflowing with your own energy,
Basking in yourself.
Namaste.
