The community is slowly passing the initial weeks of the COVID wave that has suddenly overwhelmed China. In this session, we are holding all with acknowledgment of physical, mental, and emotional strength and weakness as part of life.

And as we are coming to the presence of all of us gathering here today and acknowledging the collective suffering that is present where there is no more hiding from it there is no more staying away from covid china has been holding it for long three years trying to protect us all it came to the moment when all we can do is just to surrender and at times in our lives when that surrendering happens can also approach it with the awareness that this is part of life of it is part of life it is not sign of weakness we begin to slowly open up to exposure and awareness that right now with each breath with each awareness of our senses that might have weakened over days we are beginning this journey of adjusting to living with covid and acknowledging our immune system learning really fast and as you're acknowledging all of that coming into the space of reflecting on some time a week or two weeks ago when you were just in that space of hoping that it will not hit too hard some of you perhaps a month and if you're listening to this meditation again this might be even a while however there is this pre illness and post illness frame of mind that something just happens and changes shifts so when we are ill we often really forget how it feels to be healthy and suddenly that state the state of not feeling well overtakes all our senses every single cell as we are beginning to meditate you may bring your hand towards your your heart center and this time acknowledging the breath our lungs that really affected and the importance of each and every part of our body how it brings the space of letting us know where our strength lies our mental physical and emotional strength so gently acknowledge this journey acknowledge the moments when the fever was way too high when you didn't have any capacity to move or do anything knowing that that moment is past is not there anymore if you're here with us listening to this meditation and joining this goal even though you're still feeling weak and gently acknowledge the worst has passed if at any moment right now you feel like you might want to lie down and listen to this session or allow your body to preserve the energy even more please go ahead and do so go ahead and do so gently coming into the present moment and knowing that there is difficulty in perhaps moving or not having enough energy notice if you can bring any awareness to the part of the body that is feeling a bit stronger than the rest your hand or your finger your maybe a ear perhaps your eyebrows notice if you can intentionally go to that part of the body just to gather a little bit more spaciousness and strength to hold the space for yourself notice that part of the body that perhaps doesn't have a grand function that you rely on it too much but right now you're feeling resourceful i feel like you can rest your attention there and settle your mind there just to acknowledge that even when you are feeling the weakest there are still some parts that hold the strength and notice if you can direct your breath there and even if it is possible to place your hand over that area just to bring gratitude for that resourcefulness and resilience being present there you may even bring attention to some specific space or place where you naturally feel recharged perhaps there is a plant in your environment or an object and begin to notice gently kindly lovingly the attachment to strength the need for us to be strong all the time how important it is for us to function at our work in our social interactions how difficult it might be that right now there is sense of fatigue and the general state is the awareness of the energy being depleted just not able to function and right in between these two states and noticing how the inner judge the inner critic can begin to use criticism to asking you to heal faster do more and if this inner critic the inner judge would be willing for now to let this criticism the fear the judgment pause and soften just a little gently giving you space to complete this process of healing in a way that brings ease and encouragement gently settling in as you begin to hold in your awareness both of these parts your inner strength and the fatigue and offering your inner critic and inner judge this new voice the voice of compassion that is gently kindly acknowledging this is a really hard moment just like many many other people around the globe especially in china right now so are you trying really hard to hold the space for yourself just like many others you may be experiencing fatigue confusion from the experiences of losing sense of smell taste and capacity to use your functions like lifting sitting standing walking some really simple functions suddenly being removed from your experience and so gently just holding yourself in awareness this is not a sign of weakness this is the sign of the beginning of the healing this is the sign of the beginning of awareness this deep appreciation of every single function of our body physical health mental capacity and also for the emotions to be aligned that's right and now gently kindly lovingly letting yourself just sit here just rest just letting your mind settle part of the body that holds strength so that you can embrace the part that is feeling weak and needs nourishment right now notice how your breath can gently lovingly go from the part that holds the strength and gently go to the part that needs nourishment may i now be open to the healing that is present right here right now here right now may i now gently hold each and every cell working really hard help me reset and rebalance may i now acknowledge each and every person here and everywhere around is helping me understand that i am not alone even though moments of loneliness can feel so hard to endure and gently coming back to placing your hand over your heart center over your lungs with the intention of deep listening come to your heart and let this question go inside my heart what is it that i need to do to take care of myself right now what is the smallest thing that i can do so that you know i'm taking care of you and notice what kind of answers might be coming your way and sometimes the answer might be about just taking a sip of water or lying down listening to some music or just simply sharing how you feel so whatever that is that you're receiving right now let yourself be aware and notice really notice what is the smallest act of care that you might need to do and gently coming back to our circle now you may rub your palms together warming them up and then placing your hands wherever they might be needed any part of the body that needs some support energy or you're maybe experiencing some pain fatigue and gently transitioning and also checking in what is it that you really need to do right now so that your heart and your body know that you are taking care of it
