Enoughness - contentment towards what is. We learn to carry so much as humans and we get used to doing so. So how are we to find contentment when we are practicing always changing the external? Take this time to practice open awareness and see enoughness in what is, through the approach of your presence.

Welcome.

In this meditation,

We're going to connect with our core where we have a revitalizing evergreen essence.

So go ahead and make yourself comfortable.

Lengthen through your spine,

Rising out of your sitz bones.

Relax the muscles in your abdomen so that your breath can move freely,

Fully in and out of you.

Go ahead and take the deepest breath you have yet to take today.

And exhale fully,

Deeply releasing.

Find your attention inwards and begin to survey what is going on inside of you.

Notice what is here at this moment.

Notice the sensations.

Perhaps there is a tightness or a tingling.

Maybe you can become aware of the sensation of temperature,

A warmth or a coolness.

Perhaps you notice pressure or numbness.

Whatever you notice through your senses,

See if you can view them through a lens of gentle acceptance,

Letting whatever is here to be here.

Just noticing,

Not trying to understand or change.

Just being here with yourself without needing to be anything.

Can you offer your presence like an unconditional gift to yourself?

No matter the sensation,

Emotion or thought that comes along.

For this time,

Can you offer yourself your gentle accepting presence?

A presence of patience.

How do we reside in a place of enoughness?

It comes from seeing beyond the mind.

Seeing beyond what we think our limits are.

Seeing ourselves out of our roles.

Freeing ourselves from the roles we think we need to fill,

To be enough.

Let us practice and strengthen the part of ourselves that can see beyond preference,

That can lean into the uncomfortable.

The part of us that can feel self-doubt or insecurity and keep one foot rooted in a gentle,

Patient trust.

Mindfulness is key here.

Instead of honing in on an experience,

Can we expand our awareness to view all sides,

All aspects.

Always aware of that one foot standing sturdy in a gentle surrender to life.

Not just knowing,

But feeling.

All is okay when I let it be.

So let us connect to this place of enoughness.

Begin to bring your focus back to your body.

Notice your body as a whole.

Not fixating on any one sensation.

Watch the breath and at the same time notice where your body ends and makes contact with what you are sitting on.

Notice the state of the muscles in your jaw while still observing,

Still watching your breath.

Realizing the subtle pulsing of your heartbeat.

Your awareness is open.

Thoughts may come.

Allow them to arise and allow them to dissipate.

Conversations may shift,

External sounds may come into your awareness.

Still allow your awareness to be open.

Offering this pure moment to your heart.

Letting it enter you beyond the mind,

Beyond labels and beyond preferences.

Allowing everything to be as it is in this moment.

There's nothing you have to hold onto.

Nowhere to be.

Nothing to achieve.

Let yourself rest in the emptiness of observation.

Knowing that in your surrender,

Everything is enough.

Through your presence,

You enter the enoughness.

Everything fully here,

Letting go of needing to fulfill any roles.

A gentle loving welcome to everything that arises.

And I let go of all my resistance to this and this too.

And this as well.

A flowing river of enoughness,

Sprouting from that one foot that remains in a gentle patient welcoming.

The liberation lies in your presence.

As you are no longer running.

There is nothing left to avoid.

Nothing to cling to either.

You have it all inside of you.

When you just let go.

Take the last few moments to feel gratitude for yourself for coming here,

For opening your heart,

And for sitting with yourself.

It can take a lot of courage as some days are easier than others.

And for you today,

You are here.

You can feel proud of yourself for that.

And as you are ready,

You can close this practice or continue residing in silent meditation.

Thank you for opening your heart to this practice.

And it is my honor and privilege to share this moment with you.

I was drawn to this because of the word "enoughness." It's both charming and profound, and it conveys a playful verbal quality that put me in an open emotional state. My setting didn't hurt: sitting in my shed while the summer morning is still cool, looking over the strawberry patch and the little waterfall at its side. I can hear the sounds of our suburb and from a mourning 🕊 dove. I enjoyed your script, appreciated the balance of pauses and talking, and felt assured and soothed by the voice. Thanks for this. I suspect that I'll be listening again and again, which is kind of an irony for a recording on enoughness. 😁
