As we walk through today's meditation,
I want you to simply observe as we connect to each of the elements.
We will let our energy relate to the earth,
Fire,
Water,
Air,
Metal,
Wood,
And stone.
Set down what you currently feel about each and see if you can watch from the outside.
Being curious about how you respond versus replaying an old narrative.
We are connected to all of them,
Each of us with our own makeup,
Meaning we will all respond and connect to them differently and it can also evolve as we do.
We will begin by getting in tune with your body,
Getting comfortable,
Closing your eyes if it feels right,
Being aware of your breath,
Watching it flow in and out of your nose,
Opening your mouth if this is more comfortable.
Becoming aware of where your body is touching,
Where you are sitting or laying on,
Bringing awareness to your heart,
Your head,
Your core,
Your limbs,
Your feet.
Imagine you are now outside in a beautiful green area.
There are trees,
Flowers,
The most beautiful nature all around you.
Your feet are on the soil.
You can feel the connection to the earth.
See how your body responds to this connection.
Does it light you up and give you more energy,
More clarity?
Do you feel safe and supported here or is it feeling heavy?
Simply observing this connection with the earth.
The earth often represents stability,
Practicality and the mother.
We will shift now to connection with the element of fire.
This does not mean we will consume ourselves with fire unless that feels clearing for you to do so in a safe and healthy manner.
Imagine looking into a fire,
Connecting with the flames,
Feeling the heat warming you.
Notice how your system is impacted as you connect with this energy.
No stories,
Just observing and being curious.
Does the fire let you feel more connected or does it bring in fear or perhaps there's no reaction at all?
Fire often represents passion,
Boldness and enthusiasm.
Too much fire and we burn out.
But also too much earth and not enough air and we will also be imbalanced,
For example.
Now imagine yourself in a field or open space.
You can feel the breeze on your face,
The element of air is entering your system.
Observe as this comes,
If it's cool or warm,
Gentle or aggressive,
Noticing how it's affecting you.
Perhaps you are floating in space.
Is this freeing or terrifying?
Simply observing your connection to the air in a way that you have not thought of before.
Acknowledging this relationship and how it is impacting you.
Air often represents our thinking,
Movement and even our social interactions.
Too much or too little will impact balance in these areas.
Shifting now to the element of water.
Perhaps you want to imagine floating in a lake,
The ocean or even a bath.
Maybe you feel more comfortable with just your toes in a bowl of water.
Do you sense relief and support when you connect?
Do you get overwhelmed and fearful at the thought of this connection?
Again,
Simply observing the element of water in your system.
Water often represents emotion,
Intuition and flow.
Calling upon the element of metal.
Observing what this energy does as it approaches and connects with your system.
Why does it show up?
Does it feel protective or perhaps heavy?
Taking a moment to sit with that.
Metal often represents strength,
Structure and masculine energy.
Perhaps seeing if your system is resisting or overloaded or in need of this element.
Continuing to observe as it responds to your energy.
Bringing your attention now to the element of wood.
Does this feel cozy as it comes to you?
Or is it hollow and dry?
Perhaps you can smell it,
Whether it is pleasant or not.
Observing how it sits with you.
Is it something you didn't realize could support you?
Wood often represents growth,
Creativity and feminine energy.
Sitting for a moment with this energy and seeing how your system attunes to it.
Lastly,
We will connect to the element of stone.
Being curious as your system perhaps connects to pebbles or to the mountains.
Notice how your energy shifts when you bring your awareness to this element.
Does it feel comfortable or is it too much?
Stone often represents stability,
Strength,
Durability.
Perhaps your system resonates strongly with this element.
Perhaps it is showing you something else.
Simply observing.
Now pausing to reflect on how your system had a different response to each of the elements as we walk through them.
There is no right or wrong response.
Simply a connection that is giving you information.
Perhaps some to grow,
Perhaps some that need more healing.
Remembering that these elements are part of you.
Each able to support you in its own way.
Call upon them for physical,
Emotional,
Mental and spiritual connection.
Letting them assist you in energizing and grounding you.
Remembering it is not only earth that grounds us.
See what works for your individual system.
Taking a moment to give gratitude to these elements as well as yourself for showing up today.
Returning to your breath and your body.
Staying here as long as it feels right for you.
When you are ready,
Slowly and with continued awareness,
Return to your day.
