Many people who begin to follow the path of Wicca,
As a solitary practitioner,
Often wonder what their personal practice should look like.
How often should I conduct rituals?
How much time should I devote to my practice?
I've had these questions,
And many similar questions,
Posed to me,
And my answer is always the same.
Your personal practice is personal.
So you do you.
That's it.
One of the aspects of Wicca I enjoy the most is that there is no centralized body regulating our religion.
Whether we practice in a coven,
Or as a solitary,
There are some core tenets,
For lack of a better word.
But all of us are free to experience and explore our relationship with the divine as we see fit.
Having said that,
I would like to offer a few suggestions for beginning,
Or maintaining,
A personal Wiccan practice.
Firstly,
Keep in mind that not all rituals involve casting a circle,
Or other such formalities.
Enjoying your morning beverage outdoors,
While observing nature,
Is most definitely a ritual.
As are things such as setting aside time to read about the craft,
Meditation,
Or lighting candles,
And spending just a few moments holding space with the Lord and Lady.
These are just a few examples.
Find some similar things that work for you,
And make them a part of your regular practice.
If encouragement is needed,
Nature is always giving us prompts.
We can choose to celebrate each Sabbath,
Changing of the seasons,
And or moon phases,
With a more formal ritual.
In this case,
Writing your own rituals,
And keeping them in your Book of Shadows,
Can be very rewarding.
I enjoy conducting formal rituals for both the Sabbaths and Lunar Cycles.
As well as meditating,
And drawing oracle cards in the evenings.
I don't do magical workings each day,
Just for the sake of having something to do.
Instead,
Reserving those for when they are called for.
But that's just me.
Once again,
You do you.
The way you relate to the Divine,
Through nature,
And practice,
Should be something that brings you joy.
It should not feel forced.
Just keep exploring,
And the right practice for you will present itself.
The crow flies from me to thee,
To send the message.
Blessed be.
