While Wicca is most certainly considered a religion,

I've said many times that I prefer to view it as a relationship.

As with any relationship,

It should be respected and tended to tirelessly.

Wicca is meant to be lived,

And lived to its fullest,

At all times.

In this talk,

I will touch on a few suggestions as to how you can easily,

And at times,

Somewhat effortlessly,

Do so on a daily basis.

If you follow the Wiccan path,

You are already aware of two things.

One,

It is a nature-based spirituality,

And two,

Intentions are everything.

Both of these require mindfulness.

So let's begin with the nature-based aspect.

I think many of us find it quick and easy to do things like feed the birds,

Tend to a garden,

Pick up trash,

And so forth.

But why do we do these things?

Where is our focus when we are doing them?

The answer lies in the realization that we,

Ourselves,

Are part of nature and the universe.

Mindfulness allows us to set about these things mindfully and with a purpose.

When you venture outside to feed the birds,

Hold space where you feed them,

And set your intention that,

For example,

You are leaving food for them with the wish that they will have plenty to eat and will thrive.

When gardening,

Bless your seeds before planting them.

Talk to the plants that grow from those seeds as you water and tend to them.

I also enjoy taking a book outside to read as I sit for a while with my garden.

When picking up trash,

You might wish to set an intention that our planet will be filled with respect and caring.

These are just three of countless examples of ways to make a relationship with nature a living practice.

As I mentioned,

Intentions are everything.

Intentions are the catalyst of spell work,

And the opportunities for spell work are everywhere.

When preparing your morning beverage,

Use your spoon to draw an invoking pentagram in your drink,

And stir it clockwise while setting your intentions.

As you sip the drink,

Feel and sense those intentions manifesting.

This is also great for preparing meals.

Yes,

These two small activities can be considered spells,

Although they are anything but small.

Whatever you fill your intentions with is powerful and huge.

Take a walk in your neighborhood and send positive energy to other pedestrians and those in traffic.

Similarly,

Bless the steps you take.

As you take a bath,

Visualize the water washing away all negative energy from you.

Light a candle in the evening,

And spend a few moments seeing that light as a symbol of honoring yourself and others.

If you work with deities,

Sit in your sacred space and be present with them,

As you would a treasured friend.

Make yourself available to send forth blessings to others,

As well as to receive blessings yourself.

At this time,

I invite you to join me for a short meditation to connect ourselves with the elements and source,

With intent and mindfulness.

Be seated comfortably.

Close your eyes and take several deep breaths.

Watchtowers of the East,

Spirits of Air,

May I ever be mindful of the air that I breathe,

And may my breath carry words of love and kindness.

Watchtowers of the South,

Spirits of Fire,

May I ever be mindful of the energy that sustains all life.

May I honor every living being.

Watchtowers of the West,

Spirits of Water,

May I ever be mindful of how you wash and cleanse the earth,

And give life to all things.

Watchtowers of the North,

Spirits of Earth,

May I ever be mindful of the need to stay grounded,

Especially when I am growing tall.

Mother Moon,

Provider of Life Itself,

Protector of the Wicca,

May I ever be mindful of how you influence the earth and each of its inhabitants,

And may my influence also be powerful and beautiful.

Father Sun,

May I ever be mindful of the warmth that you provide,

And may I give of myself just as generously as I walk in your path of brightness,

For our highest good unto the harm of none,

As above,

So below,

So mowed it be.

Thank you for joining me for another exploration of the Wiccan Path.

Blessed Be.

I loved this. I’ll think about it feeding the birds this cold morning. Will save this one to return to often.

I often return to this talk to revisit the guidance it gives. Every day is a school day. Thank you for the knowledge and guidance you so freely give, it is so welcome as I travel this new learning curve I’ve found. Wiccan ways speaks volumes to me, at last a path I am comfortable with. Blessed be.
