Welcome to the Bodhi Effect.

Today's focus is to trust.

To get the most out of your practice today,

I would love for you to be lying down on your back,

But if that isn't accessible for you,

I just want you to become really aware of your body.

I'd love for you to notice any tension or any tightness that you might feel,

And I'd love for you to begin to slowly and softly begin to let go of this grip that you might be feeling in and around the bones,

In and around the muscles,

In and around the jaw,

The face,

The shoulders,

And the neck,

In between your shoulder blades,

In and around your ribs.

Feel the release in your hips,

Your inner and outer thighs,

Your shins,

And your feet.

Allow all four corners of yourself to really get heavy,

To really soften here,

And to really let go.

Trust right now that the earth beneath you is holding you.

Trust right now that the energy around you is supporting you,

Nurturing you,

And loving you in this moment.

Because right now,

In this moment,

I sense a deep desire in you to be in control.

I sense a deep desire in you to be free from uncertainties and unknowns.

And in that,

I sense a great fear in you that maybe it won't all work out,

That the what-ifs,

The maybes,

Are getting really,

Really loud.

So just begin here in the body to trust right now that the ground beneath you is holding you and supporting you.

Now if you can begin to find your breath here,

Breathe deeply into the body.

Big inhale,

Fill that body up,

Lift the chest,

Lift the belly to the sky.

And exhale,

Let everything go.

Do this a few more times.

Really fill the body up with your breath here.

And each time you exhale and let go,

Notice yourself soften.

Tune into how this feels.

Trust is defined as a firm belief in the reliability,

Truth,

Or strength of something or someone.

But where does this firmness in the beliefs begin?

And how does it stay?

I believe that somewhere along the way,

We are taught to stay in the past or to project into the future.

And I believe that we are taught this,

That when we do this,

That we are in control.

So we grip on really hard to what once was or what could have been.

Or we project really far into what could be.

And all the possibilities,

Or dress rehearse all the tragedies,

That could come barreling forth in order to prepare or stay in control.

But what I see missing so much in each of us is this belief and practice that all that is real is the present moment.

All that is true is what is right in front of us here and now.

And this access point to the present moment is our gateway to begin to trust.

Trusting and allowing are the same thing.

And when we trust and allow,

We are in flow for what is coming forth in our lives in order to expand and grow.

Nothing in our lives is meant to be forced away.

It is in the acceptance and the exploration that we truly experience the present moment.

And we find our way to this deep inner sense of peace,

Joy,

And love in our lives.

Instead of feeling fear of what may be barreling forth,

Feel intrigued,

Feel curious inside that this new expansion is something new that is being born into your life for you to step into your greatness,

To turn your light on and light up the world.

So soften the grip that you have so tightly that's telling you and whispering to you daily that that means that you are in control.

When really you know that you are working so hard to avoid great pain,

But you're missing out on what also could be great unconditional love.

Find your breath here and breathe deeply into the body.

Trust in this breath.

Trust in this life.

As your faith is strengthened,

You will find that there is no longer a need to have a sense of control,

That things flow as they will and that you will flow with them.

I want you to bring your hands to your heart here and I want you to just give a little bit of pressure from your palms onto your heart as a reminder that right now in this moment you are alive.

And now give yourself the gift of six conscious breaths.

I want you to really trust and feel your inhale and notice what it feels like to fill the whole body.

And as you exhale powerfully notice what it feels like to trust the next breath is going to come.

I'll give you a moment here to really activate this present moment and embody these six conscious breaths when you're ready.

One last big breath here,

Really noticing how you feel.

And for a moment I just want you to honor all the trust that exists in your life every single day.

Take a moment to recognize the trust that you give to your feet,

The feet that ground you when you're feeling unstable or unsure.

I want you for a moment just to offer and notice the trust that you give to your legs,

The legs that even on your darkest days swing themselves off of the bed to walk into the life that you live.

I want you to give love and trust in this moment to your hips,

The hips that still will sway side to side to a song that has your heart swelling and holds the memories of laughter and play.

I want you for a moment just to notice how much you deeply trust your belly,

The belly that will always be a tool to digest nourishing loving meals that help you remain strong,

Energized and alive.

Give love and trust to your belly in this moment that no matter the pain that it will always be there to feed you when you desire.

Take a moment here just to honor the trust that you give to your heart,

The heart that offers you the gift of feelings,

Of feeling alive,

Of feeling pain,

Of feeling heartbreak and of feeling unconditional love.

You trust your heart will always stay beating.

You trust that your heart will feel your breath as you fill the body and fill your life.

Take a moment just to recognize the trust that you give your heart each and every day.

And lastly I want you for a moment just to honor the trust that you give to your face,

The way that your eyes and smile can light up a room,

The way that you can make deep powerful connections with the ones that you love,

The way that you matter to the world,

That when you smile and you notice and you see another being for who they truly are,

Giving them permission to speak their truth and live their truth,

To be exactly who it is that they want to be.

Take a moment just to honor the trust that you give to your face each and every day.

Notice what this feels like.

Notice what it feels like to allow trust in,

To allow trust into the body,

The mind,

The heart and the soul.

No matter what is barreling towards you right now in this moment,

I want you to trust you are worthy.

You are worthy of letting this love in,

Of feeling and noticing and accessing this present moment,

Of freeing yourself from the grip,

Of letting go of the control,

Of softening to the unknown.

In this moment trust is paramount.

Breathe deeply here for a few more breaths and only when you feel ready begin to wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes,

Roll your wrists,

Roll your ankles.

Take a moment just to come back to the room.

Look around and notice the greatness that surrounds you in this moment,

Here and now,

Today.

And thank you so much for trusting me for these last few minutes to hold space for you.
