Allow yourself to settle in and find a comfortable place either seated or come into your back.

If you're seated,

Plant both feet on the ground.

In either way,

Turn your palms up and allow your fingers to gently curl.

Come into this space mentally by connecting the mind to the body through the pathway of the breath.

As we begin to breathe,

We bring our mind into the present state where the body always is.

The body is always present.

The mind often drifts to the past or the future.

Allow yourself to feel the rise and fall of the belly,

The expansion and contraction of the back,

Feeling the breath as it goes down into the deep recesses of the belly and the back,

Allowing your whole body to breathe.

Any thoughts you have of the past,

Just stop and recognize that we cannot change the past.

We can only have acceptance and let it go as we learn from it and move forward.

Recognize that right now is the future that you may have thought or worried about in the past.

And if you're worried about the future,

Allow yourself to recognize that for today you are okay,

You are taken care of.

And allow yourself to feel that trust in your heart and in your mind that with every passing day you will make the very best decisions you know how.

Continue watching the breath as you feel and notice your physical body.

The body is always moving with the breath.

The breath is always expanding and contracting.

And as we begin to move a little deeper,

Begin to notice this vessel that is our human body that carries us through life,

This physical manifestation of self or spirit or source.

We allow ourselves to relax our skin,

Our muscles,

All the way down to our bones and soften and let go.

There is a big difference in holding on and letting go.

Anywhere in your body you feel that you might be holding on,

Begin to try to notice and soften that area.

With each inhalation and exhalation,

Notice your belly,

Like the ebb and flow of the tide.

Our bodies have a natural rhythm.

We too are part of nature.

We too gain strength and source from sun and food.

We too have a rhythm.

As you feel your belly move up and down,

Let your awareness move to your pelvic belly and begin to notice how you feel here.

We often associate our emotions with the feelings in our belly,

Saying things like,

I have butterflies in my belly or our bellies will sometimes hurt when we don't feel so good.

Our bellies will also feel sometimes a little fluttery when we're happy or in love.

Just begin to notice how you're feeling.

Watch yourself as if you were watching yourself in third person,

Objectively looking at yourself.

Notice if you're feeling a little down this week or maybe things are going great.

Notice as if you were watching a loved one and allow yourself to feel objectively offering compassion or encouragement or maybe a pat on the back and joy.

But see yourself as if you were seeing a dear one.

As you move up a bit into the solar plexus area between the navel and the sternum,

This area is often associated with connection to our intuition and is often seen as connected to our throat and our voice.

Here,

It's good to focus as you breathe on this area as you ask yourself this simple yet profound question and then listen for an answer.

What do I need today or what in my life am I not paying attention to?

And then we move up like an elevator moving up to the spine to the heart,

Focusing on the heart.

We feel the space in our heart that is connected to gratitude and love.

We often feel the emotion of love here and also the hurt that comes with love.

Here I would like for you to focus on the rise and fall of the chest.

Allow yourself to think of a person or an animal or something that you are grateful for.

Allow yourself to find a mental picture of what you are grateful for in your mind.

It can be one or more things.

Focus how you feel when you feel gratitude in your heart.

And then allow the elevator to move up to the head space behind the eyes,

Between the ears and the center of the brain.

Allow yourself to breathe in through your nose and feel the cool air as it comes into the body.

And as you exhale,

Settle into the spot in the center of the mind.

And here I want you to see a picture of the highest essence of yourself.

We are often keenly aware of our faults and the things that we need to improve.

But we also have a beautiful self.

We also at times feel in that state where we are happy and joyous,

Creative and all things seem to flow.

Imagine yourself in this state and if you're not able to easily come up with a picture,

Then finish this statement with a positive present word,

Whether it's true for you or not,

If it's something you feel you are in your life or you desire to have,

Fill in the blank with a positive word,

I am.

Allow yourself to see the I am-ness,

The beauty,

The bravery,

The courageousness,

The love,

The kindness,

All of the good qualities that you possess.

We all know we have our weaknesses,

Our frailties,

Our hungry,

Our angry,

Our tired,

Our cranky.

But we also have times when we are brave,

Courageous,

Loving,

Giving,

Caring.

See a picture in your mind of the highest essence of you and take a big breath in.

And as you exhale like an hourglass moving down through your body,

Allow this picture to move down through your throat,

To your heart,

To your belly,

Through your limbs,

Into every cell of your body as if you were taking a picture and allowing it to be absorbed into your body.

Now focus once again on the rise and the fall of the belly.

And as you are here,

Know that every time you feel happy and good and you feel that things are going in the way that they're supposed to,

You are connected with Source.

When you feel bad or uncomfortable,

Then you know you are moving away from Source and the only thing you need to do is recognize.

Recognize what makes you feel back in touch with Source and what you feel makes you feel away and then just begin to shift.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Bring awareness to your body as if you were moving out from the bones to the muscles to the skin.

Find awareness in your fingers and your toes.

A little movement here,

A little movement in your fingers,

A little movement in your wrist and your ankles.

And allow yourself to recognize that your body is always in this space,

This present moment.

Your mind may not be here,

But you can bring it here with your breath,

With your awareness.

Fill your body with your breath once more.

And as you exhale,

Begin to flutter your eyes open and allow your awareness to be in the present,

In the external world and in the internal world of you,

Connected to both as you move through this thing called life.

Namaste.
