Make sure that you're laying down in a comfortable position or you're seated with your back supported.

Rest your arms by your sides or on your lap.

Close your eyes if you haven't done so already and let go of the world around you.

Start to focus on your breath.

Feeling your breath as you breathe in and breathe out.

Becoming aware of all the different sensations in your body as you breathe.

Noticing the rise and fall of your chest.

Slow down your breathing.

Lengthen the space between your breaths so that there's a pause,

A rest.

As you slow down your breath,

Your thoughts will start to follow.

The mind never stops thinking but your thoughts will slow down.

They'll become less intrusive.

The more you focus your left brain on your breathing,

The sensations,

The movements.

It's occupied so it will slow down all the other thoughts that want to pop up into your mind.

If you get any thoughts that are persistent,

Just let them come in and then see if you can let them go just as easily.

I always like to think of them like waves of the ocean coming in and going out.

Making no attachment to the thought.

Not getting pulled into the drama.

Just come in and then release.

Pull your attention back onto your breath.

Check your body and make sure everything feels relaxed.

Soften your shoulders.

Relax your jaw.

Imagine that you're breathing out any tension in your body.

Any thoughts that no longer serve you.

Just breathe them out every time you exhale.

Preparing yourself to go on a journey.

With your eyes closed,

Imagine that you're staring into the space in the middle of your forehead.

But your forehead's not really there.

So you're looking out into this vast,

Wide open space.

That may be just dark right now in your mind.

But what if it wasn't just dark?

What if it was just a big,

Massive,

Open space full of possibilities?

Full of dimensions,

Layers,

Different types of space that you can journey into.

The possibilities are endless,

Limitless.

In your mind's eye,

In the space there in front of you,

Imagine that you can see a staircase of 10 steps going down.

Seeing in your mind that you're walking to the top of these 10 steps.

And as you look down at your feet,

The steps become clearer and clearer.

So you can see as you stand on the top step what the steps are made of.

You can feel the steps underneath your feet.

Looking down the 10 steps,

You can see all the way down to the bottom very clearly.

And you notice that there's a door right there at the bottom of the 10 steps.

But for now,

You're standing at the top of these 10 steps.

I want you to look over to your left.

Look over to your right.

Start to become aware of any objects or shapes or colors that you can see with your mind's eye.

Sometimes it helps to think about a staircase that you know very well.

One that you've been down many times before.

And use your imagination and put yourself at the top of that 10 steps.

As if you're standing on that staircase that you know very well in your mind.

So it feels familiar.

What's nice about this staircase is it's going to take us to see someone that you love.

Someone that's transitioned and crossed over to the other side.

So this is going to be our new favorite staircase.

One that is almost like a special link to the inner world.

A magical doorway of sorts into a different place.

But it's a place that's going to connect you to your loved ones or a special person.

Over and over and over again.

Whenever you want to come here.

We're going to go down the staircase now.

And when we get to the bottom,

I'll explain the door.

Starting with the 10th step.

10.

9.

Feeling the steps underneath your feet.

8.

Feeling good,

Relaxed and calm.

7.

6.

5.

Looking forward to being with your loved one once again.

4.

3.

2.

1.

There in front of you is the door.

I'd like you to walk closer to the door and don't go through just yet.

Just stand in front of this door.

This magical door.

Notice everything about it.

What it's made of.

The size,

The color,

The texture.

Notice if there's a door handle on the left or the right and what that looks like.

On the other side of the door,

You're going to find yourself in a very neutral,

Comfortable,

Safe place.

A place that you and your loved one would love to go and visit.

Maybe it's the beach.

Maybe it's the forest.

It could be a special place that you would go with this person.

Or it could just be your living room,

The place where you would sit together.

Know that that is going to be on the other side of the door when we go through in just a few moments.

The place will be there.

And the person that you want to see today will be there.

So that you can reconnect and chat.

I'm going to count to three.

On one,

You'll open the door.

When I say two in just a few moments,

You'll walk through the doorway.

And on three,

You'll close the door behind you and find yourself.

In your safe,

Loving environment with the person waiting for you that you're going to see today.

Ready to go through.

One.

Two.

Three.

Take a look around.

Look down at your feet and notice what you're standing on.

Look up and look over to your left.

Sense or see or just know what's there.

Look over to your right.

And again,

Notice what you see over on your right.

Look around until you see the person in which you've gone to see today.

When you see them,

Start to make your way over to where they are.

Life itself is forever changing.

Nothing ever stays the same,

Including people.

Know that in the transition from physical life into death,

That there is no actual death.

That life itself is forever a constant,

Just like the circle of life.

Enjoy your time with your loved one.

Talk,

Love,

Hug,

Cry,

Whatever you need to do.

And stay here for as long as you need to.

Namaste.

I appreciate Cory for letting me visit with my grandmother for a good while in the end! Very easy visualization to follow. I found myself wanting to go down the stairs and then going through the door before being prompted. I was anxious!
