My name is Corrie.
Let's meditate together.
Close down your eyes if you haven't done so already.
Please close your eyes.
Relax your shoulders.
Soften your jaw.
Just check in with your body and make sure that everything is comfortable.
When your body is comfortable,
That means we can kind of leave it behind for a little bit.
But it has to be comfortable,
Otherwise it's going to be knocking on your focus and attention the whole time.
So always make sure that you're sat comfy.
You feel good.
Slow down your breath and make it so that it feels comfortable,
But it's nice and slow.
Listen to all the tiny little noises in your reality.
Now that your eyes are closed,
Let your ears get keen.
You can hear my voice.
You can hear different sounds or creaks or noises from outside,
Inside.
Just listen.
Let the sounds around you bring you to a place of stillness.
Be still and quiet and listen.
Start to pay attention to your mind.
What thoughts pop into your head as you listen?
Don't try and think of any thoughts.
Just listen and see how quickly thoughts pop in.
And just observe them.
Okay,
I'm thinking about the bird outside.
I was thinking about my shopping.
I was thinking about how hard it is to sit and listen.
I was thinking about my bum cheeks.
Are they comfortable on this chair?
Just let yourself think,
But don't attach.
Watch as the thoughts flow in and flow out.
Pay attention to your breath,
Still following the long,
Slow,
Deep breath.
Listen.
Your mind and your thoughts are supposed to be just listening to all the little noises.
But I can guarantee that other thoughts are going to drift in there.
Just let them drift in and drift out.
And keep pulling your attention back to the minute sounds that you hear.
Maybe there's a humming,
Like a frequency sound in the electricity in your phone.
Maybe you're in a place or maybe you can hear the weather,
The rain or the wind.
Maybe you're building pops and creaks sometimes.
Maybe you can hear your breath or your tummy.
How long can you just listen before some weird,
Random thought just pops in?
The mind is a constant.
But see what it feels like to manipulate the mind.
As you sit quiet and you listen,
Say to yourself,
I recognize the happiness inside of me.
I recognize the happiness inside of me.
This is your mantra.
You can keep repeating it or you can just say it to yourself when your thoughts start to drift off into that thing that you're going to do later.
Or wherever your thoughts go,
Bring them back with,
I recognize the happiness inside of me.
And as you sit with that mantra and you repeat it internally in your mind,
Whenever you feel the need,
Watch what it does to your body.
As you say it,
Notice how your shoulders soften.
It's the slightest,
Slightest minute softening,
But it's there.
I recognize the happiness inside of me.
The acceptance of knowing that it's in there.
That nice,
Warm,
Yummy feeling,
Like when you see somebody's face that you've not seen for a long time.
Aw,
Kind of feeling like aw.
Joy and love bubbling up.
Can you feel that when you say those words?
Like you're recognizing an old friend inside.
It feels warm and comforting to know that it's in there,
Right?
It's in there.
It's inside of you.
I recognize the happiness inside of me.
It's not like you're running towards it,
You're trying to reach for it from a person or an object,
Or an accomplishment.
No,
You're not grabbing for it,
You're not chasing it.
It's in there,
Already.
Like it never left you,
And that feels warm and reassuring and comforting.
I recognize the happiness inside of me.
See if you can let your body melt around it when you say it internally.
Let your shoulders relax.
Let your face soften.
Let your body respond.
There's a safety,
Like you're being held.
See if you can feel all of the emotion,
All the tiny little subtle things that that statement makes you feel.
Just keep saying it in your mind and watch how your body responds.
Where do you feel you hold your happiness in your body?
Can you feel it?
Is it in your heart?
Is it in your chest?
Is it in your throat?
Where is that happiness bubbling away in there?
Maybe it's in your upper abdomen.
Maybe it's in your sternum.
Knowing that it's there and it's yours,
Doesn't belong to anybody else.
No one put it there,
No one created it for you.
No one has anything to do with it,
It's all yours.
It didn't come from a situation or a circumstance,
An object,
A person.
It's just your fire,
Your flame,
Your happiness inside.
And that feels really good.
You recognize the happiness inside of you.
Feel as if you're sat with it,
Like a friend.
And because no one created it,
No one can take it away.
It's in you,
It's not in anybody else.
Your happiness is not out there in other things,
It's in you.
No one can take that.
It's just like this ever-glowing presence there.
Sometimes it's hidden by life and things and situations,
But it never goes away.
All you have to do is sit and remind yourself,
I recognize the happiness inside of me.
Take a breath,
Nice,
Big,
Deep breath.
And with that breath,
Imagine that your happiness is flowing through all of your cells.
It's flowing around your body,
In your muscles,
In your bones.
It's alive in there.
And as if it's a dear,
Dear friend to you,
A dear,
Dear friend,
So that you can keep its presence.
It's almost like you're making a declaration to it.
I will pay attention to my perspective so that I can keep you present and close by.
I'm going to pay attention to my emotions,
My inner voice.
I'm going to allow the presence of my happiness to come through as much as possible.
Take a nice,
Big,
Deep breath.
Breathe in all the way through your body.
Just know that you have recognition.
I recognize the happiness inside of me.
And with the comfort of knowing that it's right there,
I'm going to count to three and you can open your eyes and come back into your reality.
One,
Two,
Three.
Short and sweet.
Simple but very powerful.
Namaste,
My friends.
