Preparing To Transition - Guided Meditation
This guided meditation was created to help anyone with a fear of death, or that is coming close to transitioning, to prepare themselves to feel comfortable, to feel safe with the process of death. I talk on the subject until 4.44 into the recording them the meditation begins. I hope this meditation allows you some inner peace as this is something we all must face at some point!

Hello,
My name is Kori.
Let's do a meditation today designed to help us to transition from this world into the next.
This topic requires just a little bit of conversation before we actually do the meditation.
So when I finish this in the notes below,
I will write down how long the conversation is so you could fast forward in the future if you need to.
Through my own personal work and deep diving over the years,
Working with clients of all different ages,
When it comes to talking about death,
Talking about the end of this lifetime,
There is so much fear and worry and stress placed on that time of our lives.
Not all of us feel this way,
Obviously.
Some are very comfortable and prepared for transitioning into another existence.
But the majority of us are filled with fear.
And I think that's probably a lot to do with society's perception of death.
Maybe different cultures have it easier than some.
I want to make this meditation today just to talk about the fact that we can prepare ourselves both in spirit and mind to transition to the other side so that when the time comes,
It's comfortable and easy and not scary at all.
I think of course that we have to talk about belief systems with this topic.
Whether you believe that we just have this one lifetime or if your beliefs resonate more with reincarnation,
If you have a belief that we are eternal or not,
I think that will come into how comfortable we are about ending this life when the time comes.
I personally believe that we are eternal and that we don't actually die,
We just transition into another form,
Another reality.
And having that belief does allow me to feel more comfortable with the thought of the end,
The end of my physical human body,
But still,
We are human and death is something that always comes with sadness and sorrow and a feeling of loss.
So of course there's that part of my belief system there too.
I don't think it's ever completely easy to think about dying,
But I do hope with this meditation that if you're older and you know that being realistic the time is coming or if there is other reasons that you know that your time is coming,
Then this recording could ease the transition.
That's my hope.
We're going to do some visualization,
Some calling in,
Relaxation,
All of the good stuff.
You can lay down and get super comfortable as if you're getting ready for bed or you can sit in a comfortable chair,
On the ground,
Whatever your normal practice is,
But let's get comfortable.
Closing off your eyes,
Letting go of the world around you,
Coming into your inner world,
A place of silence and darkness for a few moments until maybe your inner sight adjusts and starts to show you beautiful colors or shadows or images.
This inner world always has a calmness to it,
Don't you think?
If you meditate normally,
When you close your eyes there's always a sense of the calm is coming.
It's in here somewhere,
Right?
I just have to sit for a moment to find it,
To allow its presence to come forward,
To be with me and keep me company.
So we get still and quiet and allow the calm to start to come.
Following your breath,
Just feel it,
Get more familiar with the pace of your breath and the depth of your breath.
Settle into your body and feel all the different sensations,
Connect to your feet,
Feel what's going on in your legs.
Traveling up to your hips,
Just be aware of any sensations in your hips and your lower back.
What's going on in your spine,
Your shoulders?
Feeling down your arms,
Into your hands,
Feel the back of your neck,
The back of your head,
Over the top of your head and down into your face.
Just gathering a simple reading of the different sensations and feelings inside in this moment.
Still keeping your breath nice and slow,
An easy rhythm and pace.
Starting to open the doors to the calmness as if it's gently falling onto your shoulders,
Releasing the front part of your body,
Your chest softens and relaxes,
Your abdomen softens and fills with comfort.
Gently slowing down,
Nice and calm and relaxed.
Think about what we're going to do next as something that's joyful and could possibly make you have a soft smile on your face.
Like the world is good and all is well and everything right now in this moment is just right and that in itself deserves a gentle smile.
And then connecting to our thoughts and memories and feelings,
I'd like you to first visualize that you're in a really beautiful place in nature.
We all have our favourites.
What's your favourite place to go in nature?
Somewhere really beautiful on earth.
It may be the forest or the beach or it might be hiking on a mountain.
Your favourite most beautiful place on earth might be sat in your rocking chair,
Watching your grandchildren,
Whatever you want to think of that's a beautiful place.
See if you can put yourself there in your mind.
Surround yourself with that image.
Feel that image as if you're right there.
So if you're outside,
Feel the sun or a breeze on your skin.
Feel the earth underneath your feet.
Start to let yourself feel your surroundings in your body.
Get comfortable with it and allow it inside.
Allow it to be real,
As real as possible.
This beautiful place that makes you feel good inside.
And then if there is anyone that you've lost already this lifetime,
Anyone that's already transitioned over to the other side,
I'd like you to start to think about them.
See their faces in your mind.
We call them as if they're in this beautiful place with you,
Standing with you.
Remember we're in a space of joy.
This doesn't have to be sad,
But if you feel the need to have a cry,
Then go ahead.
I want this to be your experience,
But try and just greet your loved ones from the other side as if you've just seen them yesterday and everything is great and good and think of it like a celebration that they're here with you,
In front of you again,
And we can hold them.
We can hold their hands and hug them and kiss them and smell them and do all the things that we haven't done for a while.
Try and see this as a gift,
An opportunity for connection that we don't normally get in our everyday,
Going from here to there because we're too busy.
We're not busy right now.
We're connecting right now.
So let them come and be with you.
Notice what they're wearing.
Notice how they look,
What their hair looks like,
What their face looks like.
Do they look happy?
Do they look good?
They probably do.
Take everything in.
Allow yourself to be present with them.
You can do this.
You can start to have conversation if you're ready.
Ask them how they're doing.
How is it there?
What's it like?
Are they happy?
Are they happy?
Share with them how you feel.
Be honest with how you really feel if you're scared,
Then share that you're scared.
If you're ready,
Then share that you're ready.
Talk to your loved one about how you feel about the end,
About dying,
About crossing over to the other side.
Let them know how you really,
Really feel so that they can comfort you and talk to you from a place of truth.
Let them know how you feel.
Ask your loved ones if they'll come to you in your dreams.
Ask them if they'll come be with you more often.
Ask your loved ones if they would be here waiting for you when the time comes.
They'll be here and they'll help you and everything will be okay.
Know that you can do this meditation as often as you want to.
You can come back and be here with them as often as you want to.
For now,
I'd like you to say your goodbyes.
When I count to three,
You can open your eyes and find yourself back in your space,
Back in your reality.
One,
Two,
Three.
Open your eyes and just adjust back to the light in your space.
Use this as a preparation,
Something that's going to eventually help you to feel more and more comfortable.
The truth is we all die one day,
Right?
Why not give yourself the gift of feeling comfortable and calm and okay knowing that you have loved ones that will help you and guide you,
That are waiting for you and you won't be alone and it won't be scary.
I think that allows us to go through the transition with grace.
I hope that that helps you too.
Namaste,
My friend.
