This meditation is designed to help you release intrusive thoughts and mental loops by visualizing them as passing clouds. As you settle into a calm, centered space, you’ll allow thoughts to come and go without attachment, creating distance between yourself and the mind’s noise. With gentle guidance, soothing imagery, and a sense of lightness, you’ll reconnect with the peaceful clarity that is always within you. Breathe, let go, and remember—you are the sky, not the clouds.

Hello,

My name is Kari.

During this meditation,

We're going to do a specific technique that helps with OCD thoughts,

Repetitive thoughts,

Intrusive thoughts,

You know,

Those thoughts that just won't go away.

This is a technique that I use myself because sometimes my OCD does flare up and sometimes life hits and I'm faced with thoughts that just won't go out of my head.

So this is something I use to help me and hopefully it will help you too.

All you have to do is basically look at the sky,

If you can,

If you're actually outside and you can see the sky,

Which is wonderful.

If not,

You can imagine the sky in your mind.

You can do this with your eyes open,

So you can do it while you're at work or if you're walking through the store,

Somewhere inconvenient where you can't close your eyes.

You can just imagine in your mind that you can see the sky and you'll see it there in your mind.

Or you can close your eyes and visualize and imagine that you can see the sky with your eyes closed.

All of those ways will work.

Whatever is available to you,

Use it in the moment.

Once you've got the image of the sky in your mind,

See the sky as a big blue sky with lots of white clouds.

Imagine those white puffy clouds are like a representation of your thoughts,

The repetitive OCD thought or the compulsive thought,

Whatever it is.

Take a big deep inhale,

Breathe in through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth as if you're blowing out a candle.

And as you do so,

Imagine that you're blowing those clouds out of your vision,

As if they're moving to the sides into your peripheral vision.

And every time you blow,

The sky there in front of you gets clearer and clearer.

It normally takes me about three to six breaths,

Depending how persistent the thought is.

What that cloud represents my thought to be.

But once I have a clear blue sky there in my visual,

Then I imagine that's my clear mind.

That thought has subsided.

It's blown away.

I'm not fighting it.

I'm not struggling with it.

I'm just gently relaxed,

Blowing the clouds away out of the sky as if I'm not paying them any attention.

I'm not attaching to them.

And then in my clear blue sky,

I imagine birds or rainbows,

Whatever I want to imagine.

Just to enjoy that sense of letting that thought go,

Replacing it with a clear blue sky that feels happy and calm.

So go ahead and give it a try.

All you have to do is visualize the sky.

See the clouds as your thoughts.

Gently taking your time,

In a relaxed manner,

Blow those clouds out of the sky.

And then when you have your clear blue sky,

Just enjoy that peace of mind for however long it lasts.

And then repeat.

That's the secret.

Repeat,

Repeat,

Repeat.

Eventually,

The brain starts to say,

Oh,

Okay,

We're not entertaining these thoughts.

We can let these thoughts go.

They will persist and try and come back and come back.

But just know that if you keep going,

It'll get less and less and less.

I promise.

Namaste,

My friend.
