Thank you for coming to meditate with me.
This meditation is all about fixing a bad day.
I'm having a bad day.
My energy is low.
I really don't want to get out of bed this morning.
I don't seem to be excited about anything in my life.
Everything is a drag.
I'm not happy with my body.
I'm not happy with work.
I'm not happy with relationships.
There seems to be things in every area of my life that needs to be fixed.
Does any of that resonate?
If it does,
Let's see if we can just change our mood.
Take a moment to ourselves.
I'm not expecting miracles.
I'm just expecting to change our mood and feel just a little bit better.
I'm going to burn some incense.
You might want to do that too.
The smell automatically makes me feel calm,
Changes the energy in the room.
I'm also lighting a candle,
Bringing some light into my energy.
Sit up straight or lay down,
Whatever you prefer.
Close your eyes and let go of everything around you.
Breathe in and just focus on the smell of your incense.
Nothing else.
Don't have to think about your breath,
The depth,
The time,
The feeling,
The sensations.
Just breathe in.
Connect to the smell and the scent of your incense and breathe out.
Allow the fragrance to start to calm and soften the muscles in the back of your neck and across your shoulders.
Imagine the scent is almost like an energetic massage as you breathe it into your being.
Starts to soften and flow over each and every muscle.
Take nice long slow deep breaths.
You don't have to do anything else,
Just breathe.
Yes,
There's different areas of your life that need attention,
But right now you need attention.
You need to be able to just be still,
Be quiet,
Sit or lay down and do absolutely nothing but just focus on this beautiful smell from your incense.
Allow your body to start to relax even more.
Let everything slow down.
It's okay to not feel great.
It's human to have a bad day,
Right?
Not every day has to be fantastic and productive and just out of this world.
Not every day you have to be seen as if you are this amazing,
On top of the world,
Got your stuff together kind of person.
You can just be you right now in this moment and acknowledge that you don't feel so great.
Just breathe,
Relax and imagine you're giving yourself something.
Imagine if it doesn't feel like anything.
Maybe you're just laying down and accepting where you are right now in this moment.
There's no guilt,
There's no frustration,
There's no anger.
You don't have to feel bad about yourself.
In fact,
You're not feeling bad.
We're just being in the moment together.
Shutting everything out for a minute,
Breathing in our incense,
Being human,
Feeling our feelings,
Whatever they are,
Right now,
Together.
Everything will wait.
Everything will work out one way or another.
The work problems,
The relationship problems.
We'll work on our bodies.
We'll eat better.
We'll have happy days.
Everything will be okay.
So right now,
Just let it all go.
Just breathe.
Feel sweet and relaxing and calming.
If I allow my imagination to run wild,
I could be somewhere in India in an ashram,
Meditating underneath the Bodhi tree,
Wherever.
Would my life be better?
Maybe.
Maybe not,
Right?
So just enjoy the scent,
Your breath,
And the relaxation that you have in your body,
And the realization that it's okay to not feel so great right now,
In this moment.
Ten minutes from now,
We probably will feel just a little bit better.
And that's okay,
Too.
Maybe we won't,
But that's okay,
Too.
Tomorrow will probably definitely be better.
You can put your hand on your heart and one on your lower abdomen,
And just breathe into your hands.
Breathe into those two places in your body.
Breathe deep into your abdomen,
As if you're cuddling it and sending it some love.
Breathe deep into your chest and your heart center.
Hold it,
Love it,
Just be with your body and be with you in this moment.
Everything's okay.
I'm going to be okay.
Lay and relax.
I'll sit and relax for as long as you need to.
