My name is Corrie.
Let's meditate together.
Take a nice big deep breath first of all just to reset your energy.
Get into meditation mode.
Settle in to your body.
On your next exhale focus on relaxing your shoulders down away from your ears.
Soften your face.
We always,
I would say 99.
9% of the time start with bringing all of our focus and attention to our breath.
Slow it down.
Feel it.
Journey with it.
Be present with your breath and just pay attention to the ebbs and flows,
The ins and outs.
Your breath in meditation is your anchor.
It's the place where you come home.
The place that can settle you back down if your mind starts to wander and race into different thoughts or emotions.
So once we start with the breath and we settle into that nice long slow deep peaceful breath,
Then that's your place that you can keep coming back to throughout your meditation.
It's changing the frequency of your brain.
Changing it from beta.
Slowing everything down into alpha.
Your nervous system is responding to the slower breath,
Creating more of a sense of safety which then can create a sense of peace.
You're doing all these wonderful things inside of your body without being aware at all.
So breathe.
Soften and relax your body.
Take all of your focus and attention into your hands.
Feel your hands.
So open your hands.
If your hands are crossed,
Uncross your hands.
Just open them.
Let them lay on your thighs or rest in your lap somehow.
Just open your hands up to the sky and start to feel the minute subtle sensations in your fingers.
Come fully into your body.
Keeping your long slow deep breaths.
Everything's quiet and still except the very subtle vibration and tingle and movement in your fingers.
It's like a soft hum,
Especially in your fingertips.
Just feel it.
Let go of your morning.
Let go of your day.
Let go of anything else that you need to do.
Right now in this moment,
Your focus is to be completely present in this moment,
In this feeling.
What's happening in your hands,
In your fingertips,
Is all that you're focused on.
Imagine that you're in your mind and you are this tiny little Buddha.
And inside of the space of your mind,
There's a door in the front.
There's a door behind you.
There's a door to the left.
There's a door to the right.
And you're sat in the middle of that space in your crisscross applesauce meditation position.
All of these doors open and close.
Let me share with you what they signify.
The door in front of you is always about what's happening next.
It's your future,
The future door.
What's happening next hour,
What's happening next week,
What's happening whenever.
Something that hasn't happened yet.
Everything's through that door.
The door behind you that you can see through your third eye,
You don't have to turn around.
You've got your owl vision right now.
You can see 360 degrees around you.
The door behind you is leading into all of the past.
What happened yesterday,
What happened two hours ago,
What happened in your childhood.
That's the past door behind you.
The door to your left is everything connected to your female energy.
The door to the right is everything connected to your male energy.
And to understand these two doors to the left and the right,
You have to know a little bit more about yourself and those two energies that you contain,
Whether you're male or female in reality.
The door on the left is everything about that part of you that nurtures.
That part of you that is naturally maternal.
That part of you that manages,
Soothes,
Creates,
Heals.
That part of you that is the balm,
That fixes everything.
That part of you that can multitask,
That's empathic,
That's conscious,
That's aware,
That's spiritual,
That's evolved,
That's connected.
The creator,
A part of you that's connected to the spirit is on the left,
On your female side.
The part of you that is on the right is your male side,
Representing the male energy inside of you.
That is the destroyer,
The builder,
But also the destroyer.
The directness inside of you,
That part of you that gets stuff done,
The part of you that's very logical,
Scientific,
Focused,
The part of you that fixes,
The part of you that protects,
Provides.
You have all these different aspects going on inside of your emotional,
Mental state.
These four doors,
The future,
The past behind you,
And these two aspects of your divide,
The duality of your thinking system,
The male and female sides of your brain.
If we're talking about your literal brain,
The left side is the male side,
And the right side is the female side.
But we're talking about the doors as if they represent the sides of your body right now.
The left side of your body is your female side,
And the right side of your body is your male side,
Just so that you know those facts.
As you sit,
Feeling your fingertips,
Feeling you in this present moment,
Feeling the life force in your hands,
These four doors are always going to keep trying to open and draw you into them,
Draw you into thoughts of the future,
Draw you into thoughts of the past,
Draw you into thoughts from different perspectives,
Either male or female.
Sometimes you're going to be angry,
You're going to be irritated,
Frustrated.
That's your male side.
Sometimes you're going to be sad,
Vulnerable,
Possibly heavy or depressed.
It's your female side.
What if you could keep all the doors closed during your meditation?
Whenever a thought pops in,
As if you can telepathically just say,
Shut,
Shut the door,
Shut it,
Shut the future,
Shut the past,
And it quickly has to close.
Just by the thoughts in your mind,
You can close those doors off.
Controlling what you're thinking about,
Controlling your peace,
Your inner peace,
That's being created by you being in the moment,
Just feeling and focusing on your hands and your fingers.
From moment to moment,
This peace will try and be invaded by one of those doors around you,
Different types of thoughts.
But with your power and your will,
Block them out and close the doors.
See if you can do it like an exercise,
Like when you hit those hippos when they pop up.
Let's do that inside of our minds for the next couple of minutes.
Close your doors and bring yourself back into your breath.
Pull yourself back to your anchor,
Back to your fingertips,
Back to your breath,
Over and over and over.
This is your practice.
Just keep shutting the doors if they open and try and pop in.
This is your sacred space,
Your peace time,
Your quiet time.
If you're not sure which thought belongs where when you get a certain thought that comes in,
Just imagine you're clicking your fingers or you're commanding them all to shut,
All of you,
Shut.
What you're doing right now,
What you're learning right now is a tool,
A very powerful tool that you can use any time of the day.
All you have to do is sit and close your eyes.
Imagine the four doors around you in your mind and you take a hold,
You take charge of creating a few moments of inner peace by simply focusing on your breath and focusing on the life force and the tingling sensations in your fingers,
Being in the moment.
This is an exercise that you can do whenever you're feeling overwhelmed,
Stressed,
Anxious.
Whenever there's a feeling of chaos around you or inside of you,
This visualization,
This metaphorical tool that they've just shared with you can be utilized any time of the day.
At any time.
See yourself sat in this space in the middle of these four doors and command so you receive some inner peace,
Some calm,
Some quiet.
Right on your breath.
Always use your breath as that wave of peace.
I'm going to count to three and when I do,
You can open your eyes and come back into your present moment with me.
One,
Two,
Three.
Opening your eyes,
Coming back.
Just another little tool that you can put on your tool belt in your meditation practice.
Something that can create that sense of inner peace,
Mind control,
Take back control.
Right?
Namaste,
My friends.
