Hi,

My name is Cori.

Let's meditate together.

Find a comfortable position for your meditation.

If you're seated,

Make sure that your spine is nice and straight.

Allow your shoulders to relax away from your ears.

Soften your jaw and close down your eyes.

Start by paying attention to your breath.

Feel,

Sense,

Just connect to your breath and what it's doing naturally all by itself.

Notice if it's fast or slow.

If you have been doing meditation for a while now,

Then your body sometimes gets used to sitting in a certain position,

Closing down your eyes.

It's like an automatic pilot that your breath would start to slow down all by itself.

If that's not the case yet,

Then just manipulate your breath a little bit and start to slow your breathing down.

See if you can have a nice even pace on your inhale and your exhale.

So it feels like it flows quite naturally and easily rather than feeling forced.

Don't take it too deep.

Don't hold it too long.

You want to feel pleasure while you meditate,

So be gentle on yourself with your breath and just go with what feels comfortable for you.

Feel into the rest of your body.

How does your body feel in this moment in time?

Now that you're being still and quiet,

Maybe you can hear things in your body,

Feel things in your body.

Maybe you can hear your body trying to communicate with you through different feelings and sensations.

The body has a language of its own.

What's your body saying to you right now?

Whatever it is,

No judgment,

Just be present with your body's state of being.

What does it feel like now that your eyes are closed?

Have you noticed that your other senses become more aware,

Awakened?

Pay attention to the feel of your space on your skin,

The temperature of the space that you're in.

If you have anything exposed like your face or maybe your arms,

Feel the space.

It's almost as if you can feel being touched by the space around you.

What do you hear in your space?

Now that you're sat still and quiet,

What can you hear?

Are you aware of any smells in your space?

Maybe you're burning incense like I am,

But what smells do you have in your space that you wouldn't normally notice because you're busy moving and doing?

In simple meditation like this,

Your whole body is becoming aware.

Parts of you are becoming awake,

Alive.

And as you sit and observe all of this,

You're just increasing your awareness of all that is you.

Pull your attention back to your breath and notice the rhythm,

What it feels like when you breathe in.

What does it feel like when you breathe out?

Notice the subtle movements in your body.

And then very slowly just open your eyes but stay very still,

Don't move anything,

Just open your eyes.

See if you can stay in that cushion of awareness.

See if you can stay in that space even though your eyes are open.

Feel the calmness still in your body,

The stillness in your body,

Feel it.

You'll notice that even though your eyes are open,

You still feel very relaxed.

Very aware of all the subtleness of everything around you and within you.

Even your blinking might be slightly slower.

And then to shift your energy completely as if to create a new beginning,

I'd like you to take a nice big deep breath in through your nose and then when you breathe out,

Breathe out with a literal sigh or sound,

Release.

Let's do that again.

Breathe in a nice big deep breath in through your nose all the way down to your abdomen and then breathe out with a big sigh and release.

You'll feel the shift in your body as if it's come back into a different reality.

And that my friends is the subtle practice of becoming more aware during your meditation.

Namaste my friend.
