Are you ready to meditate with Kori?
Climb up into bed and get all comfortable.
It's time for you to relax your body and let go of your busy day.
Sometimes we can have super fun days and sometimes our days aren't so fun.
Sometimes we have a bad day.
Either way,
It's really good if you can learn to let go of your day.
Let go of the good and the bad and try and just clear your mind.
Imagine that we're going to completely clear your mind.
You can close your eyes to pretend or imagine this or you can leave your eyes open.
It's best if your eyes are open to stare at the wall or stare at the ceiling like a big blank open space.
And that way you can pretend it's like a picture board or a chalkboard that you're going to create something on.
In your mind,
Imagine that your mind is like a box.
A box that looks like a room.
So imagine that you're looking down into the top of your head and it looks like you're looking down into a room down below.
See if you can do that in your mind.
So there's no ceiling on the room because obviously you can see inside.
And there's no top of your head because that would be like the ceiling,
Right?
So imagine that your head is open so that you can look down and see inside of your mind.
It is a room.
A room that's all cluttered and messy.
Maybe it's like your bedroom that you're thinking about or a toy room,
A play room.
Or maybe as you look down,
You see a messy kitchen.
It doesn't matter.
Whatever you see is just fine.
But imagine that the room is messy.
Maybe there's clothes all over the floor,
Books all over the tables,
Socks,
Undies thrown everywhere.
If it's your bedroom,
Maybe the bed isn't made.
There's toys and games and just everything is scattered everywhere all over the room.
And it's not tidy or neat and it's definitely not organized.
Just cluttered.
A cluttered room.
Now sometimes that's how our mind feels when we go to bed.
It feels full and cluttered and busy.
So what we're going to do is pretend that we're down in that room and we're going to whistle a tune or sing a song,
Dance and jig around the room and happily clean up the mess inside of our room.
Imagine that you're looking down and you can see yourself cleaning the space.
You're starting to pick things up off the floor,
One by one.
Maybe throw them in the hamper or put them in the cupboard away.
Just watch yourself happily cleaning.
It doesn't feel like a chore.
It feels nice to clean like you're sorting out all of your stuff because you care about your stuff and you love having a space that's more organized.
See yourself there happily pulling the covers up and fluffing the pillows,
Making sure your bed looks nice and neat.
Putting toys in the toy box or on the shelf.
See yourself in your mind putting your clothes on your hangers and hanging them back in your wardrobe.
Putting the clothes that belong in your drawers back in the drawers.
Imagine in your mind you're like one of those seven dwarfs on their way to work.
Happily high hoeing.
High hoe,
High hoe.
It's off to work we go.
You're high hoeing happily all around your room,
The space inside of your mind.
What if all of the mess was like all of your thoughts?
The clothes all over the floor.
The messy thoughts that you've got in your head,
Thoughts about something that happened in your day,
Something that you have to do tomorrow,
Something that happened years ago that you're upset about today,
Something maybe that you have to do in the future that you're nervous about,
All of these billions and trillions of thoughts that go on in our head.
That's like the mess all over the room.
So every time you pick something up and put it back in the cupboard,
Imagine that you're putting all of those messy thoughts away.
Some of them are in the past,
So there's nothing you can do about them.
The past is already gone,
Right?
Nothing can be changed.
And it really no longer matters because it's the past and you're in the now.
Today right now in this moment is all that you can control.
So we have to find ways of tidying up our past in our mind and putting it back in the closet where it belongs or back in the drawers or maybe in the trash can because it doesn't help you to keep hold of it anymore.
And maybe some of the mess is the future and the things that you're worried about that haven't even happened yet.
Future projects are a future doctor's visit or maybe a future dentist visit.
Maybe you're worried about a dance at school or a performance or a test.
All of those things in the future,
They're not now.
Right now,
Laid in your bed,
Looking down into your messy room is the only thing that you have control over.
The mess in your room you can do something about.
That's what we're doing right now together.
Clean up,
Clean up.
Let's throw some of it away.
Maybe it's a worry of the future that there is absolutely no point because you're worrying about something that hasn't even happened.
So let's just throw that messy sock in the trash can.
Your room,
As you look down on it,
Is getting cleaner and cleaner.
You're starting to see the carpet or the floor more clearly.
Everything has been put back in its place for now.
Thoughts of your past and thoughts of your future.
You've put them in the bin or in a place that they belong so they're not just scattered all over your room,
Making you trip over or making you feel uncomfortable because it's so messy.
And as you watch yourself clean in,
The space gets lighter and lighter and brighter and brighter.
Your space gets fresher and it feels nice and spacious and open.
There's no cobwebs on the corners of the room.
You got those down and got rid of them.
There's no dirty marks on the walls.
You clean them off,
The cloth and the spray.
Everything is looking perfect.
Everything is in its place and you start to feel very calm.
Like you can finally relax.
You can let go of all of that mess.
And now I want you to see yourself as you look down into your room.
Laid in bed all comfortable.
As snug as a bug.
Your room is nice and fresh and clean.
The space feels much nicer to be in.
And you can finally relax your body.
You don't feel like there's all of this mess inside of your mind anymore.
Your mind feels light and happy and open.
Imagine that you're closing your eyes.
You're sinking deeper into your bed.
You're very content.
You feel very safe and happy.
Like all is well in the world.
Nothing to worry about.
Nothing to stress about.
Everything is good.
Everyone is okay.
You can let your body relax even deeper into your bed.
Let all your muscles get softer and heavier.
You can let yourself fall into a deep,
Content sleep.
The end.
