A true ceasing of all resistance or avoidance of the present moment allows us to find peace, by allowing our experience to be just as it is we release the subconscious tension patterns of the mind and begin to enjoy resting as awareness. The serenity of this acceptance is a fully open, natural and allowing space of pure consciousness. From there we are able to let go of the usual narratives and stories we attach to that cause our psychological suffering.

Acceptance is very natural and very healthy.

Acceptance is not a special state to strive for,

But instead a return to a very natural way of being.

A deep and profound letting go.

So,

Beginning with the present moment,

See if you can begin resting in a sense of what is.

A simple noticing of the reality of here and now.

Simply observe the present and see if it's possible to just begin gently moving to a space of being okay with whatever the current experience contains.

It might not be perfect,

But just have the intention of this is okay,

This is acceptable.

So notice the state of the body and mind.

Even if the body and mind is agitated,

Restless,

Uncomfortable,

Just notice this.

And just for this time,

Do not try to change anything about the body and mind,

Just leave it as it is.

Simply observe and accept.

And open your awareness to include everything the senses are receiving.

And simply be open to receive.

So there is no analysis here.

There is no judgement.

There is no good or bad.

There is no right or wrong.

There is no pleasant or unpleasant.

There is no comfortable or uncomfortable.

There simply is what already is.

And all is well.

Take a minute here to simply settle into this way of being.

Very natural,

Very open,

Very accepting,

Very allowing.

Simply let everything be as it already is.

Now in this more accepting and allowing way of being,

Also allow yourself to call to mind all of the situations and scenarios that you are struggling to find acceptance with.

And to begin,

Actually accepting the discomfort that these situations and scenarios are causing.

So we are not trying to pretend that we are not unhappy or frustrated by the situation.

We acknowledge and accept that also.

And in the acceptance and allowing even of frustration and tension,

We find that the energy is not so negative around these emotions.

This too simply is as it is.

And this too shall pass.

The current situation or circumstance may seem impossible to deal with and impossible to accept.

But also recognize that over the course of your life there have been many circumstances like this.

And as difficult and perhaps as impossible as they seemed at the time.

Curiously,

All of these things simply worked themselves out.

Sometimes quickly,

Sometimes slowly.

But all things that have come before have now passed.

And your current situation is no different.

So just for this time,

Allow yourself to just cease thinking about the circumstance.

Simply let it go.

Give it all back to the universe.

If there was a solution to the current situation that you could find through thinking,

You would have found it by now.

So instead,

Just take a different approach and just let everything be.

All will be well in the end.

Allow yourself a sense of trust.

It may seem nearly impossible to surrender into this total acceptance.

Yet recognize there's already so much about your experience of life that you already trust implicitly.

You trust your heart to beat.

You trust your lungs to breathe in and out.

You trust the sun to rise in the morning and to set in the evening.

You trust the moon to sail across the sky.

You trust the plants to grow.

You trust the animals to do what the animals do.

You trust all of your bodily processes to continue in a natural,

Healthy and harmonious way.

So begin to trust yourself also.

All the challenging and difficult circumstances of your life so far,

You have overcome.

You have moved through them,

Grown from them.

You changed the things that you could change.

You left alone the things that you could not.

And somehow you naturally knew the difference between the two.

So rest in this recognition.

It is only the endless striving to control or fix things that causes us stress and anxiety.

Just let go and worries end.

Everything that is on your mind only happens in your mind.

The situation will be different to every single person who observes it.

So you can let go of your individual interpretation.

And rest in this healthy and natural space of total acceptance.

Let go.

Let it all go.

Yes,

Even that.

Rest.

In a moment we will be leaving the formal aspect of this guided meditation.

Although you may wish to sit a while longer in this more accepting and allowing space of being.

If it is time to rejoin the usual daily activities,

See if you can do so without engaging quite so much with our usual tendency to control or fix things.

And instead just beginning to develop a sense of just allowing.

Anything that can be changed you naturally will change.

And everything that can't be changed,

There is no sense thinking about it anymore.

Thank you for guiding me to a quieter, more accepting space. There was so much inner protesting to this process today, a process that I am so familiar with, but you helped me stick with it to find a much less raucous and peaceful place by the end.
