There is no next moment,
There is no previous moment.
There is only now.
Be aware of this moment now,
And nothing else.
This moment never becomes the next moment.
Focus attention on the now,
And see for yourself.
At what point does this moment become the next?
If you remain attentive and focused on the now,
You find it never becomes the future.
So all thoughts about the future,
All imagination,
All prediction,
We can let go of now.
Just stay now.
And there is no previous moment.
Remaining attentive and focused on the now,
Recognize that the now never becomes the past.
So all thoughts,
Imagination,
Memory regarding the past,
We can let go of this now.
These thoughts are not necessary for this meditation.
Just open awareness to everything that is present in the external and internal world.
Just a sense of awareness.
Just being aware.
What is it to be aware of your experience now?
Are there any problems in this moment now?
If we did not refer to imagination and the mind,
In your direct experience of this present moment,
Are there any actual problems?
So beginning to let go of all the mind,
Activity,
Thoughts,
Predictions,
Imagination,
And all stories as well,
Including the story of you.
Just the duration of this meditation,
Just don't engage with any of this.
Just be aware of now.
And being aware of now,
Without any tendency towards analysis.
Release yourself from the burden of trying to decide if things are right or wrong,
Good or bad,
Pleasant or unpleasant,
Acceptable or unacceptable.
Just forget this.
Instead,
Just notice what already is.
All of reality,
Both the external and internal world,
Has been pre-accepted,
Pre-approved.
Otherwise,
It wouldn't be here.
So just don't get involved.
Nothing needs your analysis or interpretation.
And nothing needs any words.
No labels are necessary in order for everything to carry on as it ordinarily does.
Just leave everything alone.
No words,
No labels,
No narratives,
No imagination,
Just awareness of being in the now,
And all is well.
Simply decide that you are not going to engage with any analysis.
Let yourself off the hook on this.
Nothing needs to change.
Everything is fine as it is.
And even if there is something in the present that ordinarily we would say is not fine,
Is not okay,
Just for this meditation,
Just accept that as well.
It's okay for things to not be fine,
As though it's perfectly okay for things to be wrong,
To be uncomfortable,
To be unpleasant.
Just allow yourself to say that's okay as well,
Not a problem.
Just let go.
It's not your responsibility to change or even understand reality.
Everything is fine as it is,
Outside of your control.
So just leave it alone.
Nothing to be done.
Be as though this is the very first moment that you sprang into existence.
You haven't learned any words,
Haven't learned to interpret or analyze anything.
Just a noticing of existence itself.
Being as though the mind simply doesn't have the mechanism for analysis.
There is simply this one,
Singular,
Eternal now that is just running by itself,
And your only task is to observe,
Without any words.
Without any thoughts.
Without any stories or images.
Just observe.
If you find that your mind keeps wandering,
Just return to the now,
And do not be frustrated.
Becoming lost in streams of thought is a habit that has been going on for a long time,
So it is okay if this happens,
Simply return to the now,
Every time that you find your mind has wandered.
Just returning to now.
Simply do not engage with anything in the mind.
What is it to simply experience the now raw?
Immediate.
Can you turn the brightness up on this experience,
Just now,
As it is?
Neat.
Observing through the senses,
All of the sounds around you.
Observing the temperature in the room.
Observing the scent in the room.
Observing any residual taste in the mouth.
And even with eyes closed,
Just observing the darkness.
And through the senses,
Just a pure awareness,
Without the mind present.
Just presence itself.
And just being aware of the body.
Just noticing the sensations of having a body.
Just observing what is.
And without any analysis,
Without any stories or narratives,
You find the pure elements of experience are perfectly acceptable in the now.
It is the mind that adds the discomfort.
But the now is always fine.
In a moment,
We will be leaving the formal aspect of this meditation.
But notice as we do so,
The mind seemingly wants to rush in and begin getting lost again in narratives and control and analysis.
And we can understand it during our daily activities.
The mind will continue to do this for a while.
But see if it's possible to simply allow yourself just a little more grace,
A little more space.
To just experience life as it is.
Without the frantic need to rush around controlling,
Changing,
Fixing.
Just being as though we don't need to actually judge the current experience to be right or wrong,
Acceptable or unacceptable.
Just be as though everything is acceptable.
And notice how your energy just changes to feel a little more peaceful,
A little more relaxed in your daily life.
Very good.
Thank you for doing this meditation with me today.
Take care,
Be well and stay present.
