Through the recognition that any emotion can be welcome, seen and accepted by consciousness you can develop the ability to tolerate emotions that ordinarily you would find distressing and habitually avoid or resist. Learning this practice is true emotional freedom, in time you will cease to avoid or resist negative emotions and therefore the associated cognitive suffering related to these emotions will cease.
