Meditation to balance mental energy.
Sit in easy pose or in a chair with the spine erect.
Close the eyes.
Take three deep,
Cleansing breaths.
Inhale through the nose and sigh out through the mouth.
Breathe in and sigh out.
Last time,
Breathe in.
A big sigh out from the mouth.
Keep the eyes closed.
Become aware of the contact of your body with the surface underneath you.
Dropping any expectations about this practice and committing to refocus your attention to the present moment as best as you can for the duration of this practice.
Use the index finger of your right hand to open and close the nostrils in the following sequence.
Start by closing the right nostril.
Inhale deeply through the left.
Hold the breath for a few seconds.
Close the left nostril with the right index finger and exhale through the right nostril.
Inhale through the left.
And exhale through the right.
Closing the other nostril with your right index finger.
Inhale through the left.
Exhale through the right.
And continue on your own for three minutes.
Holding the breath for a few seconds at the end of each inhalations.
I will let you know when time is up.
If your mind wanders,
Bring it back to the breath and the sensations of the air flowing through the nose with this breathing pattern.
The next time you exhale through the right nostril,
Release the breathing technique and return to your natural breath.
Hands resting on your legs.
Remain in stillness,
Sensing the energy settling down and recalibrating.
The breath giving you the ability to navigate your thoughts with grace and discernment.
Allow a sense of clarity and tranquility to emerge.
You are powerful.
You are confident.
You are free.
Stay here as long as you like.
If you need to carry on with your day,
Start to rub the palms of the hands.
Feeling the sounds and the sensations in your hands rubbing.
And then bring the hands in prayer pose in front of your heart center.
Receive the practice with a long sat and a short nam.
So take a deep breath in.
Sat.
