Hi,
I'm Emma and today I will be leading you through a grounding meditation to help you find presence in the Mercury in retrograde.
So you welcome in to this Mercury in retrograde meditation.
The key is to really find some comfort where you can remain still.
With Mercury in retrograde,
Stillness may be something that feels a little difficult to you.
This chaotic energy makes us want to do.
We want to step into action.
Voice our truth.
Release our frustrations.
But what this energy really calls is for us to look inwards at all of those things.
To use the powerful energy to illuminate.
To be clear on what it is we want to be doing.
Not just doing from a place of response to chaotic energy.
But doing from a place of truth.
It is asking us not to communicate,
But instead to look at the ways that we do communicate.
Both with others and with ourselves.
Where do we sometimes say things we don't mean?
Or struggle to convey what it is that we truly do mean?
And in your urge to say things,
Instead think about what it is you want to say.
Use this time to find your true authentic voice.
And then with the frustrations that you feel you might want to release.
Now is the time to really get up close and personal with those frustrations.
Why is it that you're feeling that way?
Where does that thinking come from?
The key to really optimising this Mercury retrograde is to find presence in the chaos.
To truly tune in to all that it is trying to show.
To release the resistance you may be feeling.
Just allow yourself to be.
Grounding may feel a little difficult at this time and that's okay.
We're going to enter into a breathing technique now that helps us find a little more sense of feeling grounded in the moment.
And also helps us to connect within.
This Nadi Shodan breathing works by balancing the left and the right hemispheres of the brain.
And when we are able to do this we are able to tune into our intuition.
So to find this breath you're going to bring by placing your thumb just next to your left nostril and then your pinky and your ring finger just next to your right nostril.
We're using the left hand to do this or if the right feels more comfortable for you please feel free to use the right hand.
The middle and the forefinger can counter rest on the third eye if that feels comfortable for you or the fingers can just hover in the air.
Before we begin just take a moment to lengthen through the spine reaching through the crown of the head.
And then you're going to begin by closing off the nostril with the thumb and taking a deep inhale in through the alternate nostril.
Nice as you exhale close the other nostril with the pinky and the ring finger and exhale out of the other nostril.
So you lift the thumb.
Inhale through the same nostril.
Exhale close that nostril and exhale out of the other one.
Inhale same nostril.
Exhale close other nostril.
Continuing inhale through the same nostril.
Close and exhale through the other.
Carrying on with this breath in your own time always inhaling through the same nostril that you exhale through and exhaling through the other nostril.
Noticing the breath beginning to lengthen.
Notice how you're able to root yourself into the moment more easily.
Notice the sense of calm that begins to wash over you.
In finding balance and in rooting ourselves to the present.
We can remove ourselves a little bit from the chaos and instead tune in to what it is trying to show us.
Mercury in retrograde is often placed as a time that we want to avoid.
We often hear that it's here to mess things up.
But really it's here to show us our truth.
It's here to teach us lessons that are hard to learn.
It's here to show us all that we need to see.
It is a time for being instead of doing which can feel difficult with its chaotic energy.
But just know that you always have the practice of your breath to return to.
This Nadi Shodhana breathing is accessible to you whenever you need it.
So when you're ready I invite you just to release the hand down and start to return back to your breath naturally flowing in and out of you.
When you feel ready bringing the hands together at the heart centre and bowing the head as a sign of gratitude to yourself for being present in the chaos.
That is how we end this meditation today with the affirmation I am present in the chaos.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
I hope you're all okay in this energy.
I'll speak to you soon.
