Releasing and letting go with the full moon. This practice mirrors the fullness of the moon with a full yogic breath. In honouring the moon's illumination, we shine a light on all that needs to be seen, so we are able to release and let go of all that doesn't serve us. Music by Chris Collins

Hi,

I'm Emma and this is your full moon meditation to release and let go.

To begin this practice I invite you to come to find a comfortable place to sit or to lay down.

Taking any little adjustments that you need,

Fully ease into this space.

And once you've found your place of comfort,

Just settling into stillness and fully arriving in this moment.

And a full moon can be quite a chaotic sense of energy.

So just know that if you're feeling a little ungrounded and unsettled,

That's okay.

Just arriving exactly as you are.

As you begin to close down the eyes.

And relax the body into the space.

Feeling the feet in contact with the floor.

The weight of the sit bones and softening of the hips.

And the shoulders dropping away from the ears.

And then a sense of ease sweeping across the face.

Space between the eyebrows softening.

The jaw relaxing.

And the full moon invites us to use its powerful illumination.

Its mission is to shine light on our shadows.

So that we are able to embody them in our being.

And so we are also able to release all that no longer serves us.

Anything that holds us back from becoming our higher selves.

I invite you here just to bring a hand onto the belly and a hand onto the chest.

Without trying to change anything,

Just tuning into the breath.

Allowing thoughts to be released from the mind.

Now that the body is relaxed into the space.

Just solely concentrating on that sensation of breath as it flows effortlessly in and out.

Becoming aware of the breath.

Drawing a full circle.

Where the breath begins is also where it ends.

Exhaling into the belly and feeling that breath rise through the chest.

And then exhaling from the chest feeling the breath fall down into the belly.

Maybe you start to feel yourself subtly rising and falling with the breath.

This little circular motion of the body.

As you begin to notice the split in the breath.

Beginning in the belly and moving into the chest.

And the chest to the belly.

In honor of the fullness of the moon we're going to come into our full yogic breath here.

So carrying on with the sensations of breathing into the belly and the chest.

Just adding a count.

The way the count flows is into the belly for three.

Into the midsection for six.

All the way to the top of the breath for eight.

And then exhaling from the chest for six.

The belly to eight.

And we'll work through this counting together.

Just beginning by taking a cleansing breath so inhaling in when you're ready.

And then making a shhh sound to exhale.

Inhaling into the belly for two,

Three.

Midsection five,

Six.

Top of the breath eight.

And then exhaling through the chest.

Five,

Six.

Through the belly seven,

Eight.

Inhaling belly two,

Three.

Midsection five,

Six.

Top of the breath.

And then exhaling chest for six.

Two,

One.

And then belly eight.

Inhaling belly three.

Midsection.

Top of the breath.

Exhaling from the chest.

The belly.

Two more rounds.

Inhaling belly.

Mid.

Chest.

Exhaling from the chest.

Down the belly.

Last time here.

Belly.

Mid.

Chest.

Exhaling chest.

Belly.

And then just releasing that breath allowing the natural flow of rhythm to return.

Tuning in to any differences that you notice in the breath here.

This full yogic breath allows us to cleanse,

To deplete all of the oxygen so that each new breath comes with a renewed sense.

That's what this full moon is here to harness.

Offering its sense of fullness for renewal.

Enabling you to let go.

And so I invite you here to take in an inhale and just allow anything you need to let go of into the mind's eye.

And then open the mouth,

Exhale,

Side out.

You can stay here with this practice,

Drawing anything you need to release in with the inhale.

Opening the mouth to exhale and release it as many times as you feel called to.

I'm going to leave you in this releasing space.

Thank you so much for meditating with me today.

And happy full moon.
