Welcome everyone.

If you're not there already,

Find a comfortable seat.

Roll your shoulders down your spine.

Rest your hands on your knees or your thighs.

You can keep your eyes open or you can close them.

Bring your attention to your breath.

Long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

Long,

Slow,

Deep breath out.

And take a moment for some internal review.

Just notice how you feel at this moment.

Notice what you feel.

Today's practice is focused on grounding.

Grounding is the most elaborate spiritual practice that you could have.

It's also the most simple.

If you've ever been in spiritual community,

It can be very up in the ethers.

But it's really important to remember that you're here in this moment,

On this earth.

If you ever feel lost in life,

It's often because you're looking up instead of down at the path that you're on,

Seeing where you're going.

Grounding is as simple as feeling the ground below you.

So start there.

Feel your body and where you are seated or lying.

And then feel the parts of your body that are in connection or contact with the ground below you.

I'm sitting in a cross-legged position,

So I can feel my ankles and my outer feet,

My outer legs,

My outer knees,

My outer thighs,

My sits bones,

All in connection with the ground.

I can feel the ground below me.

You can even place your hands on the ground.

And as you feel your body connecting or touching the ground,

What does the ground feel like?

What are some describing words you have for the ground?

And I can feel that the ground is stable.

I can feel that the ground is firm.

What are some qualities of the earth or the ground as you would describe them?

Start to feel those things below you.

The ground can be hard.

I also think of my lawn.

It can be forgiving.

I think I'd rather fall on my lawn than on my porch.

The ground also produces everything that we eat.

So it's very nourishing,

Right?

Where do you find water?

On and in the ground.

So not only is the ground stable,

Firm,

Hard,

Forgiving,

Or unforgiving,

It's also very nourishing.

It's supportive.

It supports our life.

The gravity in the center of the earth is responsible for 97% of our muscle mass.

The reason that you're not a blob on the ground is because of gravity.

We have to develop our muscles to withstand gravity.

Therefore,

It's also very supportive of our life,

Of our strength.

It helps us to develop.

So feel those qualities within you,

Right?

What parts of you are stable?

What parts of you are firm?

What parts of you are forgiving and unforgiving?

What parts of you are supportive and nurturing and nourishing?

All of those are within you.

Sit with that for a moment while you stay connected to the ground below you.

And from this space of stability and support and nurturing,

If you have any questions for yourself,

Ask them now.

Know that an answer coming to you will be grounded,

Steeped in stability and support.

Stay in this space for a few more moments.

Bring your awareness back to your breath.

Start to wiggle your fingers and your toes.

Move your body,

Your head,

And your neck.

And come on back to this moment.

Thank you so much for taking a few moments today.

I look forward to seeing you again.
