Good morning.
Welcome to day nine of the Mindful Mornings Challenge on Insight Timer.
My name is Colleen Seidman,
And I'm so happy that you've chosen to take on this challenge,
And I'm glad that we get to start our days together here.
I'll share a little bit about my morning routine and why I think it's so important.
How you start your day is just important.
How you nourish your body,
Your mind,
And soul as you move out into the world.
To have that nourishing foundation to start your day is incredibly important.
When I wake up,
The first thing that I try to do before the to-do list or the worry seeps in,
I take a moment to be grateful,
To say thank you.
It could be anything from thank you to the post office worker that was so kind yesterday,
Or thank you for shelter,
Food,
For my family,
Loved ones.
We all have things to be thankful for,
And it's a wonderful way to create wellness and health internally.
Then moving on to a breath practice,
Give the mind something that's not verbal to focus on,
And then giving the body suggestions for the day.
I make it a point for the first 40 minutes that I do no work.
Sit,
I do drink coffee,
Chat with my husband.
Ritual is important.
Consistency is important.
To wake up and meditate before the busyness sets in is important.
Let's start this meditation.
You can stay in bed if you'd like or find a seat.
Close your eyes.
Start right off by noticing your breath.
Just tag your mind to your breath.
Don't judge it,
Just watch it.
We're going to keep going deeper.
Feel the relaxation of your body,
The unwinding of your muscles,
The calming of your nervous system.
Take it to the next level,
Almost like you just continue to drop in.
You feel the entire body,
And then it relaxes to another level.
You stay.
Feel like the muscles are dripping off the bones.
Your sense organs are turning inwards.
You take it to the next level.
When you continue to drop deeper and deeper,
Realizing that you're safe and you're being held.
For now,
This is all there is,
The relaxation of this body,
This moment,
This breath.
You take it deeper and deeper and deeper.
And deeper.
You feel your feet,
Your ankles,
Your lower legs,
Your knees,
Your thighs.
You feel your pelvis,
Your stomach,
Your back body,
Your spine,
Your chest,
Your neck and your throat,
The softness of the skin of your face,
The movement of your skull.
And you take the relaxation to the next step,
The next layer.
And then you get to infuse into your body suggestions,
Realizing the power of your suggestions.
Almost like you're dripping an infusion of the suggestion for the body to absorb completely.
The suggestion of peace,
Of calm,
Of contentment,
Patience,
Dripping love into every cell of your body.
And you take your relaxation to the next level.
And you infuse the knowledge that you are enough,
That as you go through your day,
What others think of you is not nearly as important of the knowledge,
The truth that you are enough.
You move through the world with calm,
With love,
With acceptance.
And you relax to the next level.
And you feel your entire body vibrating with ease,
Compassion.
And you say,
Without a question,
I am enough.
And I will move through my day with this knowledge,
No matter what is presented to me in this day.
Slowly crack your eyes open,
Just about halfway,
A hint of a smile.
You relax and you receive the morning,
The light,
The colors and the shape.
And you say,
Yes,
I am ready for this day.
And then slowly let your eyes open the rest of the way.
And you still feel the nervous system calm,
Your breath easy.
And you take a moment,
Gather your hands in front of your heart,
Symbolically bowing your head to your heart.
Give yourself thanks for showing up again this morning.
Realizing that your self-worth is important and that you do not need external validation.
Have fun tomorrow for day 10.
Thank you so much for joining.
And now you have a wonderful day.
Namaste.
