Soothing Yourself During Stressful Holiday Times I am Colleen Fletcher,

And I believe that women hold the keys to naturally healing themselves,

Their family,

And their part of the world.

I am a holistic wellness consultant,

And I love seeing you thrive in life.

Holidays,

No matter what the holiday,

Can be stressful.

Whatever it is that bothers you,

The most proactive thing to feel is your calm radiating from your inner being.

Find a comfortable position,

Sitting or lying down now.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Allow your body to ease and your mind to settle.

Breathe in and breathe out.

This breathing can also be done when sitting with family members or while cooking holiday meals.

Notice where you are and internally slow down for a moment.

Allow yourself to begin feeling more alive and present.

Make time for yourself each day to stop and to be present with yourself.

Being instead of doing.

Find a spot where you are not likely to be disturbed,

Where you can sit or lie comfortably for about five minutes or longer if possible.

Make time for yourself each day to rest and enjoy.

Learn to say no to invitations.

Allow yourself to leave events early.

Look for ways to simplify your life every day and during the holidays.

Be willing to let go of things that are not important or meaningful to you.

When you are in situations that are becoming more stressful,

Bring your attention to your breath.

Notice the rise and fall of your chest or stomach as you breathe in and breathe out.

Gently breathe in and breathe out.

Now as you breathe in,

Say to yourself,

I am here.

As you breathe out,

Say to yourself,

I am present.

The simple practice will help you to anchor yourself in the present moment.

Breathe in,

I am here.

Breathe out,

I am present.

If your mind wanders,

Gently bring it back to your breath.

Now bring your attention to your body while you are gently breathing in and breathing out.

Notice any areas of tension or unease.

Breathe into these areas and allow the tension to melt away in gentle waves of calm.

As you inhale and exhale,

Remind yourself that you are here in this moment.

Breathe in,

I am here.

Breathe out,

I am present.

Breathe in,

I am here.

Breathe out,

I am present.

Breathe in,

I am here.

Breathe out,

I am present.

When you are ready,

Slowly open your eyes and bring the feelings of the warm white light with you into your day.

I am Colleen Fletcher.

Until next time,

Walk in comfort and ease and radiate your grace in life.

Thank you.
