Find yourself in a comfortable seat.

Check in with your feet,

Placing them gently on the ground,

And just notice how the ground meets your body and supports you.

Notice how the space you sit in rises to meet you and supports you.

Taking a deep breath in and now welcoming your eyes to close.

Just breathe.

Noticing how your body rises and falls with the breath.

Invite yourself to become aware of any sounds that might be around you.

There's a fan perhaps or some traffic outside,

Voices in another room.

Just noticing that there are sound waves that reach your ears as you sit.

Shifting your attention now back to the breath.

Rest your attention into the center of your head.

In your mind's eye,

Visualize the tasks,

Items,

Obligations,

And responsibilities that might be waiting just outside your door.

You don't need to visualize each of them as a specific item,

But maybe collect them into a pile in front of you to see the shape that they create.

And just notice the shape,

Height,

Width of the pile that aggregates just in front of you.

Maybe there's more than one pile.

Maybe it's a towering pile.

Or maybe it's really a long line of items trailing out behind it.

There's no judgment here.

This is the stuff of life.

This kind of stuff just aggregates and we tend to carry it with us.

And then sometimes it becomes that these items start to follow us around,

Pulling our attention away from within to these items.

So just appreciating,

Noticing,

Seeing,

Observing with as much non-judgment as you can muster in this moment.

Place all these items into one location in your visual field in front of you.

And then,

Like magic,

Invite in a truck with a front loader to scoop up all of these items into the truck.

And notice now that there is a large circle all around you and you are at the center of it.

This truck,

This front loader,

Is going to move the items of obligation,

Responsibility,

Duty,

Accomplishment,

Striving.

It's going to move these items outside of your circle.

Notice that there's a place just out the circle that's a receiving spot to hold items just like this so that they are not perpetually in your space,

But that self-organizes that for you so you can walk to it when necessary to identify the one next thing that you'll focus your attention on.

For now,

Place everything in this receiving zone.

And notice how your items self-organize and then recede from your visual field,

Held outside of your space and available for when it is the right time.

Not always crushing in on you,

But just over there.

Now bring your attention to your own space within the circle.

If you'd like,

You can rise up from the circle and below and create a sphere all around you with space that is now just yours and experiment with the size of the space.

You might want to bring the circle in close and be able to feel the edges of it.

If you reached your arms out,

You may want it so close that it almost gives you a hug.

Or you may wish for it to be a little bit larger,

Wider,

More expansive,

A space where you could really move and dance in or stretch in or run a few laps around.

Or you may want it just the right size for sitting and for resting,

Knowing that you can feel your edges within the boundaries of your space in complete comfort with nothing in there except for you.

Become aware of the sensations that you feel in your body as you rest in this quiet space just for you.

And observe if anything that is yours starts to appear like lost toys that you loved and cherished suddenly reappearing on a shelf or a poem that you enjoyed or a sunset that you remember arriving as a photo on the wall,

A book on the table.

What does your space look like when it's all yours without demands or pressure or responsibility present?

Is it an austere and minimalist space?

Or is it filled with creature comforts and fabric and textiles?

Is it something in between?

Is it actually an outdoor space somewhere in a natural environment?

Or is it a space absent of stimulus and it's a quiet resting place just for you?

As you experience what it's like to have your own space here in your mind's eye,

Notice the sensations in your physical body that respond to this home place,

This resting space.

And observe if it even feels that the air around you may have shifted a little bit and that there is expansiveness,

Maybe even just a millimeter further around you or a full meter all around you.

Breathe in,

Just noticing the air moving across your nose,

And exhale in a sigh,

Releasing further any tension that might be in the physical body.

Remember that you can visit this place in your mind's eye and shift the energy of your physical body in real time anytime you need a break.

Just 10 minutes to reorganize and place the ever-present list of demands just outside of your circle,

Giving you a pause to be with your own self,

To prioritize your own care,

So that when you reemerge,

You may look and know what is the next best right thing that might require your attention.

There's no hurry,

No rush.

There is no time but now.

And you can line yourself up to what is the best right thing for you to work on now at any given moment that you are experiencing.

When you're ready,

You may open your eyes gently,

Feel into your fingers and toes,

Give yourself any physical stretching or adjustment to bring yourself back into the body and into the present moment,

And revisit this at any time that you might need to support you in your journey to home.
