Balance isn't something you find.
It's something you create.
Today's meditation is a daily self-care practice.
Isn't it interesting how we are always asking others how they are?
We greet loved ones and even strangers with,
How are you?
Yet we almost never ask ourselves this very question,
How are you?
Communicating to our hearts and our minds that asking,
How am I?
Isn't important.
Welcome to Coached by Nikki Dyer.
Today,
You're going to start to practice asking yourself how you are.
Because it's a wonderful self-care practice.
And something you can easily incorporate into your day.
It doesn't need to take long.
But teaching your heart that you are someone you can count on.
Someone who cares enough to ask,
How you are?
It may have a profound effect on the rest of your life.
So let's begin.
Go ahead and close your eyes and take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Start to notice the peacefulness you're already feeling.
Between the breath out and the breath in.
Feel the cool and the warmth as it flows in and out through your nose.
It feels powerful to put your hands over your heart when asking yourself questions.
So right now,
I invite you to do just that.
To take one hand and place it over your heart as you gently breathe in and out.
I want you to ask yourself in a quiet whisper,
How am I?
Listen.
Notice the words and thoughts appearing before you.
Maybe you feel light and relaxed and content today.
And if you do,
Just sit there with those comforts for just a moment.
And if your thoughts are feeling sad,
Or confused,
Or overwhelming,
I want you to ask yourself a second question.
What's one thing I could do for myself today?
Something simple to show that what you need matters.
A kind gesture of love.
And then just listen.
Sometimes we need to slow down.
To take 10 minutes for ourselves.
To go for a walk.
To lie down on the floor and stretch your spine and your soul.
So whatever your gesture of love is,
Listen to the whispers coming from your heart.
Whatever that answer may be.
And with your hands still gently placed over your heart,
I want you to listen to these words and quietly say them back to yourself.
Today I will start by filling my own cup.
I will be my own muse.
I will know my self-worth.
I will love being in my own skin.
I will speak my truth with kindness.
I will know what it feels like to love myself.
I will enjoy my own company.
I will be proud of who I am.
And I'm proud of everything I've done to get to this place.
Take a deep belly breath in.
Letting those sweet promises flow through you.
Feeling their light.
And recognizing how difficult it can be.
Taking even just a few minutes to ask yourself how you are.
And what you need.
It helps you feel centered.
And balanced.
And significant.
Don't underestimate the power of doing really simple things consistently over a long period of time.
Balance is not something you find.
It's something you create.
Go ahead and take a final deep breath in.
Sealing up the warmth and light inside of you from this meditation.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
