Listen to this 9-minute practice that touches upon the concept of taking a break whenever your body is telling you that you need one. Let your breath guide you to come in touch with your body and relax more deeply bit by bit. You'll find yourself in a calm and resourceful state after this.

Find yourself a comfortable place where you are not interrupted.

You want to turn off your phone and dim the lights.

There is your time.

A time for total relaxation and inner stillness.

Take a moment to make sure that you are warm enough and that you are seated comfortably.

Rest your hands loosely on your lap.

Now close your eyes and take a slow,

Long and deep breath in.

Hold it for a moment.

Then slowly exhale.

Just allow any tension to melt away as you gradually relax more and more deeply with each breath.

Now take another long,

Slow and deep breath in and hold it.

Take a deep breath in.

Then relax.

Exhale.

Empty your lungs completely with your out-breath.

Take a third deep breath in.

Now take your time.

Hold it for a moment.

Then let it go.

Already you are beginning to drift into a state of relaxation.

Continue to breathe slowly and gently.

Relax into your breathing.

Now bring your awareness to the top of your head.

Sense or imagine a feeling of relaxation beginning to spread out from the top of your head.

Let the muscles in your forehead and temples relax.

Allow your eyes to relax.

Let your cheeks and jaw soften.

Let go of any tension.

Let this peaceful feeling flow down your neck.

Let this peaceful feeling flow down your neck deep into the muscles in your shoulders.

Soften them.

Soothing them.

Releasing them.

Breathe and let go.

Allow this peaceful feeling to flow through your arms.

Relaxing and soothing on the way to the tips of your fingers.

Yes.

As your body relaxes,

So does your mind.

Your thoughts become weightless.

Like the clouds being taken away by the breeze of the breath.

Continue this peaceful sensation.

Let it flow through your chest and your stomach.

Imagine how this area gently expands,

Rises and forms as you breathe.

Slowly and deeply.

Soothing and very relaxing.

Yes.

Now turn your attention to your back.

Feel this relaxing sensation flow on the way down your spine.

Continue to let this peaceful feeling flow through your lower body.

Relax your bottom.

Relax the back of your thighs.

The front of your thighs.

Feel on these large and strong muscles becoming loose and relaxed.

And this soothing feeling continue to flow through your knees into your calves.

Feel how your ankles become more relaxed.

And your feet relax and light.

Your entire body is soft,

Calm and very relaxed.

Let this flow of breathing continue to soften,

To soothe any parts in your body that needs your attention right now.

Yes.

Simply sit and enjoy.

Thank yourself for giving yourself this time to pause and relax.

To create this feeling of calmness,

Of relaxation to recover.

To also connect and become aware of your own body.

To feel yourself from within.

To become a friend with yourself.

To take care and love yourself.

May you be well.

May you be healthy and strong.

May you be loved.

And may you always take care of yourself.

In the next exhale,

Finally let go of all the tension.

Then very gently open your eyes and come back.
