Welcome to this meditation,
Part of a series of gentle,
Three-principles-based reminders to help you reconnect with your inner knowing,
The calm wisdom beneath your thoughts.
I invite you now to arrive.
You might be wondering what I mean by that.
I mean to arrive in every way into this moment,
To be with yourself gently,
To be present.
That might feel difficult at the moment,
But because perhaps there's something going on that feels like it's preventing you from being here in the present moment.
And so I offer you a moment of breath.
Just notice your breath.
Just notice how noticing your breath helps your mind to settle,
Helps your body to calm.
So just take a few moments to just notice your breath.
Notice the air moving in and out of your body.
Perhaps notice how your body moves as you breathe.
Your stomach rising and falling,
Your chest moving in time to your breath.
Feel into your body.
Feel the presence of your body.
Notice your body.
Offer it kindness and love.
This is your time.
There's nothing to do.
There's nowhere to get to.
This is a time to not be busy.
This is a time to settle.
I invite you to take your attention through the different parts of your body in a gentle body scan.
Noticing first of all your scalp.
Can you feel it around the top of your head?
Perhaps it feels like your scalp needs to relax a little bit.
It might feel like somebody's pouring a warm golden light starting at the top of your head and relaxing your scalp.
And now feel that golden light move down your body.
Over your ears and the side of your head.
Down your face.
Down the back of your head.
Feel the warmth of the golden light wrapping itself around your neck,
Gently hugging.
Gently soothing and relaxing your shoulders.
Maybe feeling them lower a little bit.
Feel that golden warm light down your chest.
And all the way down your spine and spreading out into your back.
Feel it going down from your shoulders all the way down your arms.
Your upper arms and your elbows and your forearms.
Into your hands and down to your fingertips.
Feel your pelvis and your buttocks relax with the warmth of the golden light.
And then feel it move down through your legs.
Swirling and warming around your knees.
Down your lower legs into your ankles and your feet.
All the way down to your toes.
Perhaps you notice some little pockets of tension as you go.
Just notice those pockets of tension.
Notice that even they are welcome here.
You don't need to push anything away.
Perhaps you just notice the warm light.
Dancing and moving around the pocket of tension.
Gently caressing it.
See that warm light as a type of acceptance.
It's okay for all the feelings to be here.
None of them are dangerous.
Everything is safe.
I want you now to consider a deeper intelligence behind life.
Perhaps you can think about nature.
About the wonderful ways in which nature makes things happen.
Like when a caterpillar completely reforms into a butterfly.
Like when a tadpole turns into a frog.
Like when a baby bird knows how to fly.
Having never really been shown.
There's something magical about life.
And today I want to remind you that you are part of that.
In fact,
You are this intelligence of life.
That's who you really are.
You're not broken like you might have been led to believe.
There's nothing wrong with you like you might have been led to believe.
You are part of this deeper intelligence behind life.
But day by day,
Maybe even right now,
That can be hard to believe.
Because as human beings,
We live in the feeling of our thinking.
But we are not our thoughts.
When we feel broken,
We're believing the thoughts that say we are broken.
But that's not true.
And we can end up searching,
Maybe you've been searching,
A long,
Long time for calm.
Looking for calm all over the place.
Looking to feel different,
Better,
Not broken.
But I'm here to remind you that calm isn't something you create.
Calm is what returns when you stop searching.
Are you ready to stop searching?
Are you ready to take that deep breath and reconnect to the calm you truly are?
Just take a deep breath right now.
You've never been broken.
It's all an illusion.
A lie your mind told you.
A misguided representation.
A wrong idea that your well-being was missing.
And as your mind begins to quieten,
As your noisy thoughts begin to settle right now,
Can you see that to be true?
That your well-being is right there.
It was just temporarily hidden by noisy thought.
There's nothing you need to fix.
This is just a reminder.
Can you remember?
Can you remember who you truly are?
Can you connect right now to who you truly are?
Breathe again.
Breathe in deeply.
And breathe out.
Breathe out all the ideas that you've ever had that you're broken.
Feel that breath as a representation of your aliveness.
The aliveness of being.
Know that calm is not a destination.
It's not a place to get to.
It's not a place to spend years seeking.
Although maybe that's what you've been doing.
Because that's what made sense to so many of us for such a long time.
Calm is a quiet truth beneath the noise of our thinking mind.
You can rest here now.
Knowing that this space is a space that will always be here for you.
This is who you truly are.
Remember who you are.
Remember this calm.
Return to it as often as you like.
It's only ever a breath away.
Remember any time you can take that breath.
You can feel your feet against the floor.
You can reconnect to the calm that never left you.
It's always there.
You were never broken.
Calm was never missing.
You don't really need to find it.
You are whole.
You are held.
And I invite you now to go out into your day and take this remembrance with you.
Or rest and fall asleep.
Whichever works for you.
Take care and much love.
