Hello and welcome to the CalmCast,

A time to feel calm and think clearly.

I'm Claire Downham,

The Queen of Calm,

A Transformational Life Coach.

I was a burnt out head teacher who finally made the journey to calm after years of trying,

And I want to prevent you from having to do the same.

The CalmCast is a series of short explorations gently guiding you back to your natural state,

Which is calm and clarity.

Just listen like you would listen to music,

With an open mind and curiosity.

There's nothing else to do.

Now let's relax into today's episode.

So welcome to today's session,

This session unveiling the power within.

And it begins a theme that I am exploring around revealing your full potential,

Revealing all our full potentials because I really do believe that we're not living life to the fullest,

But that the complicated way in which many self-development modalities will point you to is not the way.

It really is an unveiling,

A revealing,

A looking inside process,

Not a process of looking outside for the answers to this.

As you will know,

If you've been following me for a while,

I spent a lot of time looking outside of me for the answers to these things,

Thinking that my wellbeing,

That my sanity,

That my productivity,

That my okayness was all somewhere out there in some book,

In some practice,

In some tool or technique.

And really what I'm pointing to in this conversation is that none of it is out there.

And that's what I would love you to see.

That none of what you are seeking out there is out there.

And I think that's why there are so many sources of information on these things.

So if you search for how to feel more confident,

I guarantee you will find at least half a million,

Sorry,

Half a billion,

Not half a million,

Half a million will be bad enough.

It's half a billion results,

More than half a billion results on just how to feel more confident.

So there must be something wrong.

We can't be right that it's so complicated,

Surely.

And really it isn't.

The problem is that we're looking in the wrong direction.

And this month I'm so excited to be exploring this topic.

And if you're coming across this as an audio,

Because there will be plenty by the time I've finished.

And the joy of this exploration is that I get to sit with people and point out to them how amazing they are all day,

Every day.

And that's the most joyous experience of my life,

That I get to do that for other people,

But that I get to see it in myself too.

It's amazing.

If you're new to this conversation,

You might be thinking,

What are the three principles?

Well,

The first thing I would say about the three principles is learn about the three principles.

If you love listening to me,

That's great.

But if you have another teacher who you found who teaches the three principles,

Then that's fine too.

I passionately just want people to know this because it is life-changing or to relearn it really,

Because it's just something we've forgotten.

The three principles describe how life works.

They point to our psychology not being who we are.

The principles themselves are thought.

Have you noticed how much of that you've got?

Consciousness,

Which,

You know,

For me,

Raising people's awareness,

Raising consciousness is the conversation.

Starting to become this interested and curious observer of our thoughts and feelings rather than thinking that's who we are.

Consciousness brings it all to life.

And mind,

Universal intelligence,

The energy of life,

Whatever you want to call it,

God,

Universe,

Everybody calls it something different,

That aliveness.

And at the heart of all of that is that you are not your psychology.

Your psychology,

Meaning your thoughts and the feelings which are a consequence of those or part of the same energy,

Are not who you are.

That your potential,

This power within I'm pointing to,

Is something that we so often can't see because we are thinking and we think our thinking is who we are.

But our thinking is just the bits we've learned from stuff.

I was listening to a podcast the other day and the lady actually said at one point,

She said,

I didn't even realise that I had thinking.

She said she didn't even,

Like,

And I don't think we all,

I don't think most of us did,

Like I didn't.

Well,

That's just me,

The thinking.

I thought that was me.

I thought that was who I was,

This chattering voice in my head.

Well,

That's just Claire,

Isn't it?

It's not.

You're psychology.

I might say that more than once during this session and during all the other sessions where I'm talking about revealing your full potential with the three principles this month and where you can explore that even deeper in this little course I've released on Insight Timer.

It's,

I would love everyone to see how much potential they actually have.

Michael Neal has a lovely talk called Why Aren't We Awesomer?

It's his TED talk and that is it.

Why aren't we?

Well,

Because we think we're our psychology,

We think we're our thinking.

We believe that that thinking inside our head tells us the truth.

But we are infinite beings.

We're having a human embodied experience.

This mind-body system that we are is having this experience,

But that isn't the reality of what's available.

And what I'm seeing in my clients now is this unveiling process.

Them finding more ease,

More calm,

More clarity,

More innovation,

More ease with problem solving and discovering things.

All of that is available to everyone.

You know,

Remember,

Or I'll tell you now if you don't already know,

I was burnt out with excessive stress.

I certainly was not accessing the power within very well.

Although,

I don't know,

Things happening for us,

Not to us.

I really do see the burnout that way now.

But I've been to levels of stress that make you sick,

Really sick,

You know,

Years worth of sick,

You know,

Chronically fatigued levels of sick.

And I can honestly say I'm not sure I know how to be stressed now.

I can't engage in thinking like that anymore.

It just doesn't make sense.

And that is possible for everyone.

Everyone,

You and me and everyone,

Everyone you know who looks to be not in a good place,

Everyone you love,

Everyone you care about,

This understanding is that peace,

The missing peace.

Have you ever gone through life thinking there's a missing peace here?

There's something not,

Something doesn't make sense.

Listen to that little voice.

It's pointing you to come into this conversation.

What is that power within?

It's innate things like resilience and confidence and love,

Peace,

Wisdom.

One of my favorite Three Principles quotes from Jack Pransky is,

All we are is peace,

Love,

And wisdom,

And the ability to create the illusion that we are not.

And that illusion is created with With our state of mind,

With our stories,

With our judgment,

With our comparison,

With all those things that human minds just do all the time,

Because that's just how they are.

There's nothing wrong with any of that.

That's just human.

It's just normal.

There are some things that a human mind has a tendency to do,

But that doesn't mean that that's true.

And underneath your thinking,

There is that power within.

And I know you've seen it.

You've seen it in those moments of quiet,

When you just felt this feeling of okayness.

It's okay.

Even when the outside world looks crazy,

We don't tend to remember those moments.

We tend to remember the moments when we're caught up,

Because they're louder and they're shoutier and they let us know they're there,

Don't they?

And that's what we're trying to do.

We're trying to remember those moments.

And they let us know they're there,

Don't they?

In the quiet moments,

We don't notice how well we're doing.

But they are always there.

Always.

So I hope you stay in this conversation.

But do learn about this three principles understanding.
