Here's a reminder to rest.

To rest right now.

To notice your breath going in and out.

But more than that,

This is a reminder to listen to your body.

To tune in to the signals it's always sending to you.

If you're feeling tired and overwhelmed and stressed,

The signals are probably telling you to rest.

To take a pause.

To take a breath and a little bit more.

To allow yourself that time.

Perhaps to say no.

Perhaps to not do every single thing on that list.

To rest before the red flag.

To rest before your body finally cries out in pain.

To rest before you're forced to do so.

Can you hear the whispers of your body?

Can you feel that tightness in your chest?

Perhaps some angry butterflies in your stomach?

Perhaps some tension in other parts of your body?

These are the whispers.

The whispers from your inner knowing that it's time to rest.

Can you let yourself rest?

Or do you find yourself ruled by that noisy,

Bossy inner critic?

That's the voice that says you must do more.

You're never quite enough.

And by the way,

Did you know you are a superhero?

So you can do it all.

And you can do more.

But that voice is wrong.

And your body is calling to you to say rest.

To say pause.

To say,

Give me a chance to just replenish my energy.

That's all it wants.

For you to rest.

For you to just stop the busyness for a little while.

To move away from overwhelm and overthinking.

And stressful ways of being in the world.

To rest.

This is your reminder to rest.

Before the red flag.

Before it all gets too much.

Before it gets hard to get out of bed.

Before resting is no longer a choice,

But something you are compelled to do.

Because that's what happens if we don't listen to the whispers of the body.

If we don't listen to that voice that's nudging us all the time.

To please rest.

To tune out the noisy inner critic that says all the time do more.

It's time for you to rest.

Maybe you can rest right now.

Maybe you've already closed your eyes.

Maybe you're already noticing your breathing slowing down.

As your body begins to rest.

Maybe this five minutes is enough rest for you right now.

But maybe it's not.

Maybe this is part of you waking up.

Part of you realizing that it's time for you to make more time to rest.

To not be always doing.

To realize that you are whole and magnificent and wonderful,

Even if you do absolutely nothing.

Can you feel the truth of that?

Notice how your body feels calm and relaxed as you fall into the truth of that.

The truth of who you really are.

You do not need to be busy.

You do not need to be a superhero.

You do not have to tick every single thing off your list.

You are allowed to rest.

This is a simple reminder.

A reminder for you to rest before the red flag.
