Here's a few minutes to reconnect with truth from a three principles perspective.
Today we're going to explore self-doubt through the lens of a three principles.
So what is self-doubt through this lens?
Well it's actually a lot simpler than you might think.
Self-doubt is thought.
Thoughts that we believe.
Possibly thoughts we've been believing for a really really long time.
I know for me that sense of not being enough drove me pretty hard through life.
No matter what I did,
No matter what I achieved,
There was always this naggy sense of self-doubt,
As if I'd never quite made it.
Maybe you can relate to feeling like that.
Whether you're in a job or you have your own business,
Those thoughts of self-doubt can come up really often.
And sometimes they can feel really intense.
It can feel like we can't move forward in what we want to do,
Perhaps by applying for that promotion,
Or seeking that next client,
Or even asking somebody out on a date.
But that intensity of feeling doesn't mean that those thoughts of self-doubt are true.
In actual fact,
Our feelings are actually pointing us in the opposite direction.
When we feel an intense feeling,
That's letting us know that we're thinking a lot around a particular subject.
And with those thoughts of self-doubt,
The feelings come through very strongly.
But remembering in the moment that that's just letting us know that we're thinking a lot about ourselves and perhaps our lack or our not-enoughness can be really helpful.
Perhaps when we feel like that,
We might change from freezing and not doing anything to giving ourselves a moment and taking a breath.
All we're experiencing when we have self-doubt is insecure thought.
Now the great thing is,
Is that our body's letting us know that,
And that that feels very different to inner wisdom that might be guiding us.
When we fall into a space of being connected to inner wisdom,
That always feels really calm and settled.
It never feels awful,
Like when we're believing our thoughts of self-doubt.
The other thing is that when we fall into presence,
That has an effect of gently dissolving self-doubt without any effort.
Perhaps your feelings of self-doubt and your thoughts of self-doubt,
You might have noticed that they have a lot to say about the future and the past.
You're never quite there or you're not good enough with what you did yesterday.
Really notice that and notice that when you're present,
That that tends to fall away.
What you have underneath your thoughts of self-doubt is innate peace,
Clarity and intelligence.
Those things are things you always have access to.
And of course,
Sometimes it's not going to seem that way,
Because you're going to be believing your self-doubting thoughts.
But notice how you go in and out of that all day long.
And the more you look in this direction,
The easier it gets to notice that there are self-doubting thoughts without judgment and fall back into that connection to wisdom,
That innate peace,
That clarity and that intelligence.
I really hope you found this short talk helpful.
And if you'd like to explore this subject further,
You might want to check out some of my other content about self-doubt.
There are meditations and there's definitely a couple of courses covering this subject.
Thank you so much for being here.
Take care.
Lots of love.
