From a 3 Principles perspective, letting go isn’t something we do. It’s what happens when we stop identifying with thought. In this short talk, you’ll hear a gentle reminder that peace is not earned. It’s revealed when we stop chasing better thoughts.

Here's a few minutes to reconnect with truth from a three principles perspective.

Letting go can be taught to us as a thing to do,

But have you noticed how that's really hard when somebody says to you,

Why don't you just let go of that?

It's near on impossible,

Isn't it?

Letting go isn't really something we can do,

It's not really a verb.

Letting go is a consequence of seeing things differently.

When we don't realise that our moment by moment experience is being created via thought,

It doesn't make sense to let go of our thinking.

It looks like it's the world out there that needs to change.

But just like we drop something sharp when we realise we're gripping our hand around it and it's beginning to hurt,

We can learn to let go of thought,

To get off those trains of thought when we realise that it's thought that's really creating the suffering.

What's also useful to know and to see from a place of gentle awareness is that thought is fleeting and impersonal.

It's already moving through us moment by moment.

And what's underneath that is the place we want to get to when we let go,

A place of calm,

The innate well-being that we all possess.

Really,

The letting go is a settling back into this place.

Letting go is a natural thing to do when we realise these things,

When we realise that it's the thinking we're focusing on which is causing the suffering,

When we realise the transient nature of thought and when we realise the truth of us,

The truth that underneath all that thinking,

We're perfectly whole and well.

Nothing else makes sense quite so much as letting go when you look at it from this perspective.

This is letting go as a consequence,

Not a task,

A three principles perspective.

I really hope you've found it helpful.
