Welcome to this third quarter moon or waning moon practice.
If it's comfortable for you,
I invite you to come now to a cross-legged position,
Seated on a cushion or on the floor.
Otherwise,
If you can sit on a chair and wherever you are,
Allow the palms to turn downwards and the hands to rest comfortably somewhere along the thighs or towards the knees.
And as your hands touch onto your lower body there,
Feeling the warmth and the exchange between hands and legs,
Feeling the weight of the hands and the support of the legs.
And then moving this awareness down to the base of the body that connects with the area on which you sit.
And feeling into the exchange there,
The weight of the body pressing down,
The chair,
Pillow,
Mat or ground returning a support of pressure.
And as you witness this give and take within your body and with your external environment,
Allowing yourself to sink into it now,
Allowing yourself to receive the support,
Allowing yourself to find comfort and beginning to notice now the way that the base of your body,
The space between your thighs all the way around to the knees and the space between the arms from the shoulders around to the elbows and down to the hands,
Creates a somewhat cup or receptacle like shape,
Just as the third quarter moon in the sky could be imagined perhaps with the help of turning your head on the side to be like a bowl.
And whatever container like shape comes to mind for you,
Starting to breathe your body into the space within that container.
And as you feel into that space,
You may like to imagine that with every breath,
That space starts to fill with your favourite colour,
Fluidly,
Seamlessly and gradually becoming fuller and fuller with every inhale that you take.
And noticing what it feels like,
To have this knowledge or sensation of fuller and fuller,
To have this knowledge or sensation of fullness,
Seeing how and where that sits in your body.
We've crossed past the full moon phase now,
Where nature truly embodied this fullness.
And as we enter this third quarter moon phase,
Our cup spills over with abundance.
So as those inhaling breaths come to fill that entire space held by the body,
Realising that it's also possible to overflow this space,
To let things spill out and spill forth,
And that the space in front of your body can also take on this full energy,
This expansive and abundant vibration.
And noticing that you are,
Without even realising it,
Giving willingly this energy to this space,
Giving it easily,
Because you are already filled up,
Because you are abundant.
And taking a moment now with this realisation,
To bask in these feelings,
And in feeling abundant,
And in feeling the ability to give,
You can feel so easily,
Love and gratitude.
And perhaps a sensation of love and gratitude can spread,
Both within the body and into your thoughts.
Are there a few things that you're grateful for right now?
And finding,
With that knowledge,
That there's at least something that you can be grateful for,
That you do have an ability to receive,
That you are worthy of receiving,
Of receiving everything that your heart and your true self are guided to desire in this life.
And to know that it is okay to open up to receiving,
That just as you give and give selflessly,
Generously,
So too you can receive openly,
Gratefully,
Often.
Coming back to the breath now,
With the inhale,
Repeating in your mind the words,
I receive,
With the exhale,
I give,
I receive,
I give,
I receive,
I give,
And as inhale flows into exhale,
Flows into inhale,
The breath cycling fluidly in and out.
We can simply melt into becoming a part of this giving and receiving cycle,
That has no beginning and no end,
That takes no measure of magnitude or substance,
And is simply an energetic exchange.
Receive in order to give,
In order to receive.
Just as you are always receiving the gift of oxygen from Mother Nature,
So you are always giving back the carbon dioxide for her trees.
So as part of nature do you have an innate ability to receive in order to give back,
And in order to continue the cycle.
You are full,
You are abundant,
You are truly worthy.
Namaste.
