This meditation is designed to support you into an embodied expression of your essence,
Whatever that looks like for you today.
So you can use this meditation if you feel you've got a bit lost or a bit scattered,
Maybe you're about to begin some creativity and you want to really drop into that deepest nature of you and feel really connected with the essence of who you are.
This could be a nice practice for the morning time or equally for any time where you just really want to return to your heart,
Return to self,
And move forward with a sense of embodied truth.
So wherever you are,
Find yourself comfortable.
Sitting down,
Laying down,
Be somewhere where your body can really release and let go.
A embodied expression begins from a place of relaxation.
This isn't something we can access when we're tight or wound up or stressed or feeling tension.
So first we're going to bring our attention to the body and bring in that sense of relaxation and rest.
So first begin by connecting with your breath.
Notice your breath going in and out of your body.
Begin to bring your awareness into the movement happening in your body right now,
The physical movement.
Notice where your breath pushes your chest out.
Notice the effect on your shoulders.
Can you even feel the way your breath stretches your skin just a millimetre?
And with this breath we are going to invite presence in on the in-breath and a sense of letting go of release,
Of surrender on the out-breath.
There's no need to force a strong in-breath or to puff out at all but just to allow the breath to be what it is naturally.
And maybe actually the body does want to sigh or release a sound and that's very welcome.
So breathing in presence into your body and letting go as you breathe out.
Breathing presence in and finding some surrender.
Let go.
Again on your own for a few moments.
Breathing in and out.
Breathing in and out.
Give any remaining tension to the earth or to the sky,
Whatever feels most natural.
And if your body still wants to hold on a little bit that's okay too.
What would it feel like if you were to let everything go in this moment just for now?
Our essence is not created by us but sensed by us,
Felt by us.
As it moves through us in different ways,
Many many different ways.
And the way I like to connect with this essence of me is to really fall into it and become bathed in it,
To bathe in my essence.
And so we're going to explore that now.
Feeling your whole body lying or sitting wherever you are.
And we're going to zone in.
That may be an interesting phrase to use but instead of zooming out from the body we're really going to do the opposite and go in.
And so however this feels most natural to you,
See if you can fall into yourself.
As if you were a dark and beautiful abyss.
And there is no effort needed here,
There is nothing to be done.
Except to fall deeper into your own core.
The truth that is you.
Come back.
Fall down.
Release into yourself.
Release any effort from the mind to try and find this place or to look for something specific.
And just trust that in the darkness here there is something beautiful to be seen and to be felt.
Connect with the pure essence of you.
This infinite nature.
Beauty.
Power.
Love.
Strength.
Grace.
Feel this unique quality.
Not needing to give it a name.
Or describe how it feels but just to sense that.
That raw untouched nature of you.
This wild and beautiful gem.
And having touched this essence,
Surround yourself with this truth.
Allow it to envelop you.
Like a bath of honey or liquid gold.
Be fed by this essence.
See how it lights you up.
How it nourishes you.
How it awakens your life force.
And breathe.
Soak it in.
And now feeling totally nourished and supported by this essence.
We will invite it up.
Towards the surface.
And into the experience that is today.
And so,
Noticing how this essence of you wants to move up through you.
Feel the flavours that are making their way into your life today.
This essence is infinite and yet it is so unique.
And there is a,
Perhaps a particular flavour,
A particular quality or qualities that want to be expressed in your life.
So invite this,
Invite this curiosity.
What flavours are alive for me today?
Perhaps they are soft.
Melancholic even.
Quiet.
Beautiful.
Or perhaps today a more extravagant,
Alive,
Even fruity or ecstatic side of your essence wants to be revealed through your experience.
Bring your curiosity and see what qualities are alive for you today.
And as if drawing water from a well,
Slowly invite these energies up,
Up,
Up from this deep place to the surface.
We will begin to integrate that essence by taking some deep breaths.
In through the nose.
And out through the nose.
Again.
And out.
As you feel your belly fill with breath and you reconnect now with your physical experience.
Notice an awareness of your deepest essence that remains with you.
Maybe it's in the background but there's a knowing of this connection even if it's distant or not so clear.
And then bringing these qualities that are alive today into your body,
Into your experience right now.
Breathe into them.
Feel the aliveness there.
The beauty.
And again,
Bring some movement back into your body.
You give your shoulders a stretch,
Crunch them to your ears.
You can give your legs a squeeze and take another few deep breaths.
I want to offer one last invitation as we come to a close and that is to invite your awareness.
This could be for the rest of the day,
Whenever you remember.
Into the seat of your heart.
I really like to imagine a seat or a throne and to imagine my awareness of this essence of me.
To take a relaxed seat.
Knowing that when my connection is here in my heart,
When my awareness is here in my heart,
Then all is well.
Have a beautiful rest of your day.
