The Meaning Of The Great Invocation

The Great Invocation was shared worldwide in 1948. Since then, more and more people have invoked it at the time of the full moon all around the world. The full Moon of May is considered by many to be a time of saying the Great Invocation in coordination with the Wesak Festival in Tibet or India.

Aloha,

My friends.

I'm Reverend Cindy Paulos and I'm recording this a couple of days before the full moon of May.

Now the tradition of thinking the full moon of May is a significant time of initiation and light and the incoming of light has been going on for a long,

Long time.

Probably about,

Gosh,

A hundred years maybe.

More intensely,

The last 50 years or so.

But there was a tradition that was going on for a long time in Tibet as well of celebrating the Weisak Festival.

W-E-A-S-A-K.

And that time is still celebrated in Tibet and in places there and it is a significant time.

And so I always make a point during this time to set aside the full moon day,

The day of the full moon or the before the full moon,

And to really intensely take time to ponder,

Take time to go within and to see about the,

How that clear connection,

That highest connection that you have to your soul is going.

How that connection to this light of the world is going.

How that connection to the love that you have within you from God is going.

And it's a time to rededicate yourself.

And I look at it as that time and I always have.

Now in the tradition of the wonderful people who celebrate Madame Lebesgue's way and the way of the many teachers that have followed that and higher teachings,

This is three festivals that starts.

There's a festival that starts at Easter time.

And then there's usually the one that depends when Easter falls,

Of course.

And then there's the one that happens right after that.

And then there's the May.

So there's,

You know,

Depending on when the month would be.

The three particular breaks of time and the full moon of May being a very important one.

So I'm just saying all that so you can understand why for me it's a very significant time.

But it's not just for me.

It's really for thousands of people who have now joined in.

And the saying of this great invocation that was started back at the time of Roosevelt,

It has been going on for years,

Obviously.

And this is one that I'm going to share with you right now because it is of import.

And the thing that's so amazing about this great invocation is that it's so very simple,

But at the same time so very deep and so profound.

Now it does include,

And it has always included in the original version,

Christ.

And it's,

You know,

It brings in that Christ.

Now that's been changed to a degree because when people say,

Why do you have to say Christ?

But I follow the original and the original did not use women.

It had men,

Which was which is the way it was said 60 years ago,

70 years ago.

I'm trying to remember the year.

I think it was a different time.

But I still believe there's a power in the original version.

But you can certainly,

If you don't feel comfortable with that,

You can change it in your own mind to what feels comfortable to you.

So it goes like this.

From the point of light within the mind of God.

Let light stream forth into the minds of men.

Let light descend on earth.

From the point of love within the heart of God.

Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.

May the Christ return to earth.

From the center where the will of God is known.

Let purpose guide the little wills of men.

The purpose which the masters know and serve.

From the center which we call the race of men.

Let the plan of love and light work out.

And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let light and love and power restore the plan on earth.

Now that's the great invocation.

And it has so much power in it.

And it's so simple that it teaches me a lot.

And just that,

You don't need a lot of words to have powerful words that really reach very far and very deep.

But we can break it down to a bit of contemplation about that point of light.

And if we just were to take that first phrase from the point of light,

That point of light,

How often do we actually go and connect from that point of light within the mind of God to that point of light within ourselves?

And I feel there's a very deep connection there from that point of light within that mind of God to the point of light within us and our minds.

And as we align and we find that point of light within ourselves,

Connecting with the point of light within the mind of God,

We find an amazing influx of energy of that light,

Of that light that is the eternal,

Infinite light joining together within us.

And it's a wonderful source of light and love.

And it's a wonderful source of connecting with that vision of light,

With that wonderful gift of being able to share that light.

And by being in tune with that light,

We bring that light to earth.

And in the phrase,

The heart of God,

How often do we really connect with that heart of God in our own hearts,

In the hearts of God?

We have our own heart of hearts and it can connect in meditation with the heart of God.

And when we do that,

This love is a transforming love.

It's a powerful love.

It's a love that Christ was bringing in that constant state of enlightenment,

The constant state of being in light,

In that love that would make it possible to transform ourselves in the world.

And just those two points,

That light and love,

But then they combine in the great invocation,

Not only light and love,

But that power that comes from that light and love.

Now this one gets tricky.

This one,

The power,

Right?

How many times have you seen power get to people and it can change the way they think of dedicating themselves to something higher,

But taking that power for personal use or personal growth or making money or for trying to get more power and control.

So that power is a really key point.

And we have to watch always how that power is being used by others and being used by us.

I think in these coming years,

In the next 20 years especially,

We're going to be seeing that power going on and power struggles in very interesting ways.

Now,

When this great invocation was created,

We didn't have the internet.

We didn't have the ability to go and get beyond the internet and connect with what's now going on with AI.

There was no way to imagine what was going to be happening with AI.

Now,

I didn't ask AI what they thought of the great invocation.

I could do that.

You know,

You can just Google these days,

AI seems to have an answer for almost everything and a lot more than I could think of.

But there is that amazing thing that happens.

Information coming from AI is supposed to be a tool that we use and we learn from.

And I think it's eventually going to take over what we used to have for encyclopedias.

I mean,

It's very possible that it already is like that.

I mean,

I wouldn't be surprised,

Would you?

But does AI understand that light of lights?

Does AI understand that love of God?

Does AI understand God?

Now,

This is a huge subject,

Right?

I mean,

If we go down that rabbit hole,

Does AI connect with God?

And if that's possible,

Where's that going to go?

But there has to be some filter that's going to happen where AI doesn't try to manipulate and control.

God has always given people free will.

We've always had free will.

And at this point,

AI hopefully is giving people free will.

But we're seeing our free will being impacted more and more as there are people who wish to control what's going on in governments and more and more places and more and more countries are beginning to be concerned about who controls what.

And we have to wonder in 20 years of how this control is going to impact the world and the teachings and everything that comes in.

So we have a lot of responsibility to maintain that inner light and to maintain that inner love and to understand the power of the wisdom and the power of dedication,

The power of service and the power of wishing to serve the highest good that is going to be more important than ever for everyone who's on this path.

And it's going to be an interesting evolution that's happening with this.

We're in the midst of it right now.

And I think we have to really always honor that highest light,

And we have to honor that highest love and not be manipulated by the power that some people wish to control and use.

And this is going to be the brave new world,

Right?

We have to be pretty brave in this new world to be able to be impeccable in our intentions,

In our connections,

And in the use that we have of what we can get through AI.

And this is going to be a fine line to walk.

Remember that wonderful razor's edge?

I think we're at that point where we're reaching a new walk through the razor's edge of having to be very much in the center to stay at that point where it doesn't get controlled by other forces.

And this is up to each and every person in their own way.

Now I think in meditation you can strengthen that.

I think in meditation you can be closer to that highest self within you,

The highest light,

The highest love,

The highest will for good that you can get.

And you will resonate with that.

How do you know,

Right?

How do you know if you are walking in the center of light,

The center of love?

You know,

It's interesting.

I used to play the flute pretty regularly.

How did you know if you were right in that note?

When you play the flute,

It resonates when you're in the right tone and you're playing.

And if you've ever played flute,

You might understand.

But you know,

You understand when you're right there in that center of light,

In that center,

That powerful center of that note.

It's the same way in your own life.

When you're in tune with the highest,

When you're in tune with that light and you're in tune with that ultimate love,

You are centered in that powerful place where you can live it and walk it and breathe it and use it.

And it takes an integrity and it takes an intention,

An intention to do this.

And that is so strong when you find that,

You know,

To be able to know you can call upon it and that you're going to always follow it.

And I really pray that you take the time to always get centered in light and love and find that wonderful,

Powerful center within yourself to serve for the highest good,

Always.

And I send you my deepest connection of light and love and gratitude,

Deep,

Deep gratitude for you being there.

Im listening to this talk now not in May. It matters not. Light is what attracts me most
in life. The full moon has a magic of its own. Your talk makes so much sense and leads me to think on a different ‘ plain ‘,
God / universe/ omnipotent one/ the Force
is truly magnificent. I feel an energy and feeling of aliveness which is aiding me to feel my inner most self to connect with the most powerful ONE who is gracious enough to connect with me. There is so much to think about.
