The Great Invocation

A talk and meditation on The Great Invocation. The Great Invocation is a world prayer translated into over 80 languages and dialects. It was given to Alice Bailey in April 1945 in a message for all people of goodwill. I talk about the impact it has had on me and others.
Its beauty and strength lie in its simplicity and in its expression of certain central truths: The truth of the existence of a basic intelligence to whom we vaguely give the name of God.

Aloha,

I'm Reverend Cindy Palas and I'm going to talk to you about a,

Well I guess this is an invocation that I've been saying every day of my life since I've been 15 years old.

It was written in 1945,

So it's 75 years old and it was written by the Tibetan who was channeled by Alice Bailey.

Alice Bailey wrote an amazing series of books that got very esoteric and dealt with some very important subjects.

I've read many of those books over the years.

And just the other week it was World Invocation Week and I was amazed to see how many people around the world are saying this and the power that it has.

Actually this invocation was spoken by Eleanor Roosevelt at the UN back in,

I believe it was 1947.

And it's a very simple invocation and a very powerful invocation.

I'm also going to cover part of it that was followed up that isn't often spoken about.

And you might have heard it before.

It goes,

From the point of light within the mind of God,

Let light stream forth into the minds of men.

Let light descend on earth.

From the point of love within the heart of God,

Let love stream forth into the hearts of men,

May the Christ return to earth.

From the center where the will of God is known,

Let purpose guide the little wills of men.

The purpose which the masters know and serve.

From the center which we call the race of men,

Let the plan of love and light work out and may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let light and love and power restore the plan on earth.

So it's a rather,

That's rather basic,

Simple,

Right?

Yet it holds the key to many really important points.

And back when this was written,

People didn't used to say light and love to you,

Right?

This has evolved over the last 50 years or more.

But it starts with that point of light within the mind of God.

Now that point of light within the mind of God,

Can you connect with it?

Because when we go to that point of light within the mind of God,

We're actually talking about the original light,

The source of all light.

And we're connecting that original source of all light into our minds.

Now through time,

It's been changed by many people to not just say,

Stream forth into the minds of men,

But into the minds of all people because of the connotation of just men and wanting to include obviously women.

But if we can imagine that bridge,

That connection from our point of light in our soul to that point of light within the mind of God,

This is where you're building an antahkarana,

The actual bridge,

The connection that takes you to the highest point.

And it can take a lifetime of work.

I've been working on this for,

Ever since I was 15 years old,

And that was a long time ago.

And then of course,

It takes you to the next step here.

Once you've connected from the source of all light within the mind of God and connected to that point of light within you,

Then you're asking for that light to also come to all of earth.

So you're bringing that light down and anchoring it here on earth.

So you're becoming a channel of light in just those three opening lines.

The next one is from a point of love within the heart of God.

Let love stream forth into the hearts of men or all people.

May the Christ return to earth.

And some people have changed that to may the chosen one return to earth.

And some people say,

May love increase on earth.

Now here what you're talking about again is connecting the energy that is the force of God,

That love energy that is unconditional love to connect from that point within that point of your deepest place of your heart.

And again,

Building that bridge of love and filling that place of love within your heart to the unconditional love of God,

And then channeling it all down here to earth and allowing for that love to increase with the power of the Christ,

The one highest light of God in letting that love come into the highest light here to earth.

And when we do this,

I have found,

Since I've done it every day of my life for a long time,

I have added one more part to this on my own,

Which is I am a point of light and not from the point of light,

But I am that point of light within the mind of God.

And when I do that,

What I'm doing is actualizing that I am that energy of God.

I am that point of light there within the mind of God.

And of course,

The power of the I am is so great in the I am that I am,

Which is the energy of God.

So I am that light and I'm letting that light stream forth from me into the hearts and minds of men as well.

I'm letting myself be a channel and holding forth that light to all of earth.

And then I am that point of love within the heart of God.

And I allow that love to stream forth from my hearts to the heart of all humanity,

All of men,

And I let that Christ light,

Love return to all of the earth.

This is the point of love being transformed,

Right?

Now the next phrase is from the center where the will of God is known.

This is the harder one.

I mean,

I got the light and love pretty much used to that.

It could take a lifetime,

Of course,

But being aligned with the will of God means giving your own will over to God's will,

Giving up your ego,

Right?

And to also allowing yourself to surrender to God's will.

And that also takes knowing if you are indeed working for God's will.

And then if you can get that point to your own life,

Which is a huge,

Huge level,

Then you ask for that purpose because we're here to fulfill a purpose.

We all have a purpose and God has a purpose and we let that will of God fulfill our purpose to guide us,

To let us be at working with God's will for the good of all and the will of all men.

That purpose is the purpose which the masters know and serve.

And in the Alice Bailey Tibetan teachings,

The masters are the hierarchy that are working,

Including Buddha and Christ and the teachers,

The highest teachers that have left their body and are working for the good of humanity.

So we're letting that will of God work through us as we surrender to God's will to fulfill that purpose which the masters know and serve.

So we are aligning ourself with the energy of the highest masters to serve that will.

And again,

Here we're also allowing ourself to be of service when we allowing ourself to work with God's will.

And how do you know if you're really working with God's will?

This is a very big question.

You know,

There is a shift in energy.

I can tell you since I do this every day,

There's a shift of energy when you take your ego and the shadow self out of the way and you let God direct you and guide you.

And if your ego or your buttons are getting pushed,

If you see that coming into play,

Then you need to take a step back and go inside and ask to be fulfilling the will of God,

To be a servant of God.

The last group of phrasings here,

Actually it's the fourth,

There's one last one,

From the center which we call the race of men.

Now here we're talking about humanity and it's now the race of all humanity,

Right?

We let that plan of light and love work out.

So this is the actualization.

Obviously,

If we look at what's been going on in the world,

This is taking a long time.

This is a big one for humanity to really get that light and love and allow it to come to reality,

Allow it to come to all of humanity,

Allow us to work for the oneness and the non-separation and for the highest good of all men and women.

This is part of what they work with,

With good will.

Good will is so,

So important in this practice.

And harmlessness,

Those are two very important keys.

So if you're working with good will,

You are working again with God's will.

And if you're working for the good of humanity,

You're working for that service that's so important for all of life.

And that center which we call the race of men needs our help,

Obviously.

We've been accelerating and allowing a lot more light and love to come in.

But as that light comes in,

That shadow that actually needs to be dealt with is coming out in the race of men and humanity.

And it has to be dealt with with that light and love.

In other words,

You can't just raise the consciousness of a few people.

All of life,

All of life and all of humanity needs to be brought into the light and love of God.

And that's done with good will and with harmlessness.

Harmlessness is a thing I've worked for all my life.

I mean,

It's one of the most difficult principles of all.

Because this is harmlessness in thought and actions as well.

And do we even know sometimes when we're using our words and they're harming other people?

Sometimes we're not even aware.

So this means being aware as well.

And the invocation closes with,

Let light and love and power restore the plan on earth.

Let light and love and power restore the plan on earth.

Now here we have the word power introduced.

We've had light and love in the first part of it.

But here comes light and love and power.

Now when this invocation was first written back,

I think it was really written in 1942 or 43,

There was World War II going on.

And it wasn't released to humanity until the war was over.

Because they didn't want this energy going into people who would use it for the wrong reasons.

So that power in this invocation is so strong that we're asking,

Of course,

For that power of light and love and goodwill to come into focus within us to help all of humanity.

This is a very strong invocation.

So now that we've gone over it and talked about it for a while,

Let's take a few moments to go into meditation.

And let's breathe in,

Breathe in deeply,

Breathing in the light.

Using our breath,

With the breath of God,

Breathe out that light.

Let yourself just be filled with that light.

Breathing in again that light from the point of light within the mind of God.

And letting that light from the mind of God stream forth into your minds out into all of the world,

Into all humans.

Breathing in that light and building that channel.

See yourself connecting in that bridge,

That rainbow bridge,

The Antikarana,

From your soul to God.

Allow yourself to be filled with that light that is the brightest light of all light,

The original source of light.

Let it come,

Let it fill you.

Allow it to come through you and be in all parts to embody in you the highest energy.

Let it transmit to you this pure energy that you can indeed send out to the entire world.

Breathe it in and as you breathe it out,

Let yourself embody it,

Embrace it,

Feel yourself being transformed by it.

Every cell,

Every molecule in your body,

In your mind,

In your heart,

Send that light out to the world.

And now breathing in that love from the source of all love,

Unconditional love of God,

Go to that point of unconditional love there within the heart of God.

Allow yourself to connect.

Allow yourself to be able to receive that love now channeled forth into you from your highest chakra and on down your mind and your throat chakra into your heart and let your heart be completely full of unconditional brilliant love,

A love that heals,

A love that indeed accepts all of who you are for you are a part of this unconditional love from the heart of God.

Breathe it in again and now send that love,

That unconditional creative love out to the world.

Send it out to all that you know.

Send it out to your loved ones,

To your family,

To those you work with,

To all of those in need until you see the entire world receiving that love,

That unconditional love and allow it to come back to you so that you know you are open to helping that unconditional love,

That Christ-like love right here back on earth.

And now be in that center where you can turn yourself over to God's will and be a center of goodwill and ask to be a servant of God's will,

To follow that path,

That long,

Long path of serving the highest will.

And as you go to that place where you understand that you are indeed part of God's will and God's plan,

Let it clearly guide you to your true purpose here on earth,

The same purpose that all of the highest teachers hold.

And now from the center which we call humanity,

Let that plan of light and love work out.

Let's say a prayer to allow humanity to receive that wonderful light and love,

That light and love that's needed so much now.

Let all pockets of darkness and all the forces of evil be completely released and closed so that we can allow light and love and power to restore God's plan on earth.

Be a channel for that light and love and that power of goodwill.

Allow yourself to be one that is here to fulfill your destiny and purpose.

See that in,

Allow yourself to feel a shift and allow yourself to be completely aligned with the highest.

And now know that you are part of that energy of light and love and goodwill.

And say thank you God and so it is.
