There is an amazing gift that comes from taking the time to go inside and meditate. I also have found that after meditation, you can write down what comes to you. When you do this, you can strengthen your connection to your soil and get messages that can be great guidance to your life.

A big aloha.

I'm Cindy Paulus and I wanted to talk about what's most important in your life.

Have you had a chance to really stop and consider what you value most in your life?

This is very wonderful to be able to do because where our attention is and where our value is will direct us,

But if we don't really know and take a look objectively at what's most important to us,

We may wonder and get directed by other things than what is most important to us.

I mean there's so many distractions in the world right now.

It's unbelievable how I look at how the use of being able to sell you something,

The use of being able to try to capture your attention,

To get you to go to places a lot of times you see on TV or movies,

They've gotten very,

Very good at trying to make you give them your attention.

Sometimes you begin to realize after a while that this wasn't even what I wanted to look at or what I wanted to do,

But somehow I got directed beyond what I was interested in.

It's an amazing thing that can happen really.

It's important to have a real clear focus and that word focus is so valuable.

Focus on what you wish to do with your time,

With your life,

And that can be as simple as I want to take a walk every morning or I want to take a walk every evening or I want to meditate every morning and then kind of direct yourself to do what is most important to you and even just setting that intention can be really a valuable thing and it may not be a lot.

I need to do this today.

I need to do that.

Okay,

Fine.

And what is most valuable for things you're going to do in the day?

You know,

How much time and attention do you spend to that?

It can make your day much more beautiful when you know you take the time to go outside in nature and spend some time outside in nature.

It can make your day beautiful if you make sure that you take the time to be quiet and to be still and to go inside in meditation and to get that focus and clarity you need.

And sometimes it takes a while.

I'm finding sometimes now in my meditations with all of the things that are there bombarding our psyche these days that it can take a little more time to clear a lot of that stuff out till you get free.

Now your mind will probably always wander and that's part of getting through to meditation is the mind wandering through different thoughts that pop into it.

And that's even an interesting process in itself when you close your eyes and you breathe,

You know,

And you just get centered what does come to your mind.

What clouds pass through your mind.

And if you just observe them as you would looking at the sky and the clouds,

Those thoughts can be something you just,

Oh okay,

There's that.

Let it go.

There's that that comes up and you let it go.

It's amazing how they will come and go and if you don't get caught up in them,

If you don't get taken away by those thoughts or even fight those thoughts,

They will be like clouds.

They'll just pass on through.

They'll pass on through and they'll be there.

So,

You know,

When you learn to accept that and know that it's okay,

It's like okay,

It's a passing thoughts.

It's a passing clouds.

But my focus is still on my inner self and in my place I am inside,

You know,

Which is beyond just the thoughts.

It's the center there of your astral plane or your emotional plane or your psyche or your mental plane,

You know,

Your mental thoughts beyond that could be your entire higher self,

You know,

That happens.

That's a beautiful place to be when you go into that highest self that you are there and connect to your soul.

Do you have time in your meditation to navigate that plane of getting to your soul energy from the thoughts,

The clarity that you just begin to get to in meditation to get to that place of calling upon your soul?

And you let your soul be your pilot.

You let your soul be your guide.

You let your energy that is there inside that you honor,

That you know is there,

That is you,

Have its space and time through you,

Being with you,

Connecting and directing you to what you need to go through to be still and know that inner place of peace inside,

That inner place of love inside,

That inner place of light inside,

That inner space that is so very,

Very amazingly beautiful.

It's a great connection to have and I find it easiest to do in the morning when I get up early around four o'clock to just sit down and meditate.

And that's before the day has taken you away,

Before you have a hundred messages you have to respond to,

Before the noise outside,

You know,

When you have that sacred space.

Now not all of you are going to be able to get up or want to get up at four in the morning,

But I've been doing it for a lifetime and it's really been extremely valuable.

It may be five,

You know,

In the morning,

But I hear and see many people who say they have children and they say,

I wish I had time to meditate,

But I've got my kids and they want their attention.

They wake up early and then as soon as that starts.

So I think the solution to that is to get up before the kids get up,

To have a little place that you have.

It doesn't have to be a large space,

But a little place that's your sacred place that you can go to where you don't get distracted,

Where you don't worry about emails,

Where you don't worry about anything else happening.

It's just that beautiful sacred place where you can connect to your soul inside.

And it doesn't have to be a long time.

I do an hour every morning,

Usually a little more than an hour,

But there's times it's shorter because things do come up or I get a phone call because where I live on Maui,

It's very different time on the East Coast than here.

So it could be six hours time difference and people like,

Oh,

I didn't know it was 4.

30 in the morning there.

I'm sorry.

But you take the call because it might be important,

You know,

So things will happen and it's like,

Okay,

You do that and then you go back and you finish your meditation,

You finish up what you're doing.

And you know,

You still have that center that you can go to,

Or you could turn your phone off entirely,

You know,

Just not let any kind of calls come through,

Block any calls from coming through as the other option.

But creating sacred space to the way that suits you,

The way that works for you,

Is your choice.

For me,

What works is to do it early,

To go inside and my gift in my life for over,

I don't know how long it's been,

It's been over 55 years.

And after I meditate,

I write down what comes to me.

For me,

It's been in the form of poems.

So I have tons and tons and tons of poems.

But some of those poems have found their way into making themselves a book or an album,

A piece of music with some music behind it,

The words.

But the thing about the writing down what comes to you,

Is it allows this amazing connection,

That connection of your inner self to your conscious mind.

And that bridge is an interesting bridge that connects that inner quiet place of your soul to your mind.

And I think with time,

I've found with time,

That as I connect what comes to me from my soul and write it down,

And then make,

You know,

A poem.

For me,

It's a poem out of it.

It strengthens that message that comes from inside to me.

And I really encourage you to take the time to explore it,

Because it's been so very valuable for me to let my soul speak to me and it come out.

And now for you,

It may be a word or two,

Or maybe like a letter,

Or maybe like it comes to me,

Like a poem.

It may be a piece of music that comes to you.

Everyone has different energy fields they relate to,

That they connect with,

That works for them.

And you have to know that.

And it's not hard to figure out.

I mean,

What relates to you more?

How do you relate?

Do you relate to music?

Do you relate to words?

Do you relate to maybe a picture that comes to you?

I've seen some amazing pictures people draw from their meditations.

So find out what works for you.

And I can guarantee you,

It will be one of the greatest gifts that you can get.

And it's absolutely free.

You just take the time to meditate and let it come.

You know,

It's not like you have to pay for a class.

It's there.

It comes from yourself to you.

It's a gift.

And I really pray that you find that connection,

That inner connection,

That gift that comes when you take that time and you trust and trust yourself enough to let that gift come to you.

I send you my love and blessings and a big Aloha.
