
The Benefits Of Slowing Down
There is great value in talking time to slow down. In each and every moment, there is a gift of realization that can be discovered by being aware of it. It is very hard to be aware when we are speeding around trying to get things done. When we rush around, we create stress on our body and mind. This is a talk and meditation.

Aloha,
I'm Reverend Cindy Palos and today I'd like to talk and do a meditation on slowing down.
We're in a society that is based on doing,
Doing,
Doing and we have to sometimes rush to get everything done especially if there are holidays going on.
So much to do and when we rush a lot of things happen.
We start to put stress on ourselves.
We also change our breathing pattern and we put tension into our minds and our bodies and trying to accomplish everything we need to do and when we rush and speed up a lot of things occur and we are not even aware of it because we're in such a rush and it's interesting that as more and more people are rushing to do everything we need to do there gets to be a lot of people out trying to do what they need to do and so there's long lines which causes us having to wait and be more patient and we get more stressed because we can't get as much done as we'd like.
There is more people on the roads,
There's more traffic and then we're face to face with having to stop and slow down and be patient and it's hard to be patient when you're trying to get everything done you need to do.
So I want to focus a little on the pause between each breath we breathe.
Breathing in at the top of that breath there is a pause and breathing out at the bottom of that breath there is a pause.
If we can just slow down enough to be aware of the pause then we can be aware of the way we can receive and be in tune with our soul.
Just breathe in and pause and breathe out and pause.
Go within and slow down breathing in holding your breath for a couple of seconds breathing out pausing breathing in holding your breath for three seconds breathing out pausing.
Think of all the things that you can do when you're in tune with your pure being not doing just being.
You can be aware of who you are.
For a second let's breathe in who you are and be in the light of that truth of who you are.
Breathe it in and at the top of your breath allow that being to fill you.
Breathe it out into your body relaxing breathing in energizing holding it in your soul and breathing out and letting go.
There is a gift in just being not rushing just being.
You can see the magic of the moment you can see the beauty of life.
You can see the miracle of each breath breathing in and holding and allowing that miracle to be present in your awareness as you breathe out through the wonderful vehicle of your body breathing in and just being.
In slowing down we can see the beauty of the moment.
You can see nature in its glory.
We can see a sunrise and appreciate the gift of that sunrise.
We can hear the bird calling and wonderful things happen.
In Zen meditation you can sit for 40 minutes and then just do a Kenyan walk around the room walking very very slowly.
So slowly that it's hard to even take each step slow enough but by walking very very slowly we're able to hold that meditation that we've been doing in our walk and if we were to walk slowly in our daily walks rather than rushing through it we could amble and see the beauty of the clouds.
Hear the birds calling feel the breeze.
We could then feel the peace that is present within us in each moment.
Breathe in and feel that peace.
Hold that peace and allow that peace to come into your very heart and mind.
We are in a society that is speeding up and there's many things that are going faster and faster making everything instantaneous but when we slow down we can see perhaps the beauty in a grain of sand.
We can have time to talk.
We can have time to share our hugs and love and it can be hard to slow down when you're used to going very fast.
I live on Maui and we learn patience here and I've been here 30 years and I'm still learning patience even when we think we need to do a lot of things if we slow down and understand that we are in a divine flow and let things be as we can to just let them go.
Now let's do a meditation.
Breathe in,
Hold your breath and breathe out.
Breathe in,
Go deeper still and let things just be.
Breathe out,
Go deeper still and discover the magic in this very moment of now.
We are here right now.
Allow yourself to experience the presence of your soul.
Allow that soul to come into your entire being,
Into the crown chakra.
See it enlightening that crown chakra with gold,
Radiant gold and the white light pours through the beautiful jewel of your crown chakra and comes into your head.
Let that gold and white light spin in circles clearing anything in your mind that needs to be cleared.
Breathe in that light filling your head and see the violet light of your third eye.
Breathe it in and take a look at the majesty and the power of the vision of your third eye.
Breathe out,
See light filling your vision.
Allow this light to come down into your throat chakra,
That beautiful pool of aquamarine and allow it to balance all of who you are and the voice of your true energy that comes through what you speak.
That creative center there allow it to be filled with that radiant beautiful blue light.
The light of peace fills that throat chakra.
And now breathe and allow the gold white light to come into your heart.
Go deep into your heart and feel the blossoming of love right there in your heart of hearts.
Take a moment to be in your true heart.
Take a moment to feel your heart.
Send love into your heart of hearts and healing.
Feel that love increasing.
Plant that seed of love there to grow,
To be shared and now send that love out.
Send that love out to the world.
Take a moment and breathe that pure love that is uniting your spirit there with your heart in a union,
In a marriage of divine harmony,
Healing and peace.
Ah,
Feel that heart feeling so good to be recognized for what it does,
For what it gives and now allow it in a pause to receive.
Receive back that love,
That gift of love from the one source of all.
That unconditional love that accepts all of who you are.
Feel it,
Absorb it,
Believe that you are loved,
That you are loved.
And now allow that energy from the heart to go down to the sacral center and fill the entire part of your body that you feel with.
Allow it to feel appreciation.
Send love down to the root chakra and allow a lovely ruby red flower to blossom there in your root chakra.
Allow it to be a glowing beautiful jewel of a ruby red and breathe it in and send healing energy there as that ruby red blossom in the root chakra heals and is enlightened by your love.
Allow that light to move on down into your legs and your knees and your calves and your feet and see yourself now embraced body,
Mind and soul with spirit infused with the unconditional love of just being,
Harmless,
Whole,
Complete.
Breathe it in and just pause and then breathe it out and know the feeling of this loving harmony and peace.
Remember to slowly come out of meditation now and be grateful for this wonderful time you have given yourself that is timeless.
That is full.
That is just now in pure beingness.
And now we'll say thank you God for this wonderful energy and this gift of time and timelessness and being.
I'll close with the Aramaic Lord's Prayer.
A'vum dey bosh maya,
Ni dekada sheshamah,
Te tey maokuta,
Nwe de sevinah kakanah de bosh maya obaaraha,
A'lan lakma dey sunkanin yamana,
Vashvoklan abein aikanaad apanyin shwaakin laayabein,
