Prayers To Use While Flying

This chapter is on the power of prayer. When you are flying you may encounter scary situations such as air turbulence or flight delays. Prayers for protection, patience and acceptance are included. This is an excerpt from my audio book, how to fly with less stress.

The power of prayer.

In 2004,

The National Institute of Health issued a statement saying that according to a survey of more than 31,

000 adults,

Prayer is the most common alternative medicine.

According to NIH,

Prayer is mind-body therapy more popular than acupuncture,

Chiropractic,

Yoga,

And vitamins.

For many Americans,

Every day is a day of prayer.

More than half,

55% of Americans say they pray every day,

While 21% say they pray weekly or monthly.

Even among those who are religiously unaffiliated,

20% say they pray daily.

Women 64% are more likely than men,

At 46%,

To pray every day.

And Americans age 65 and older are far more likely than adults under 30 to say they pray daily.

You can be sure of one thing,

That when people are on a plane and things get a little scary or bumpy,

Many prayers are said.

I can often feel a shift in the energy of a plane when something happens to scare the people on board and they get very quiet and they start to pray.

Prayer does project a tangible energy force.

There is wonderful comfort and power in prayer.

If you encounter a situation that is overwhelming or downright scary,

You'll find that it helps to take a few moments to go within and pray.

Have a conversation with God.

Ask for guidance and protection.

Don't be afraid to ask for help.

God is there for you,

And the spark of His light and love are always with you to call upon.

I feel that life works best when you're in constant awareness of your connection to God.

The prayers are not spoken in desperation or as pleased.

They are a way to clear a channel between you and God.

They're always asked with an awareness that it is God's will that will be done.

Talk to God as your closest friend and confidant.

He she knows all of you more than any other person may.

Even if you don't feel it makes a difference,

You will find that it helps to develop a relationship with God.

You're building a relationship with Him daily in so many ways.

There are so many religions that have a different point of view about prayer.

Many get extremely upset if you pray to anyone but God.

I certainly do think God is the one source of all creation,

And I certainly agree that prayers to God are good.

But you may pray to Mother Mary,

And you may pray to the angels,

But why not go to the direct source?

So much about prayers are misunderstood.

I've found over years of praying every day that if you go with an open heart and pray with the right intention and ask for the prayer to be sent for the highest good of all,

It takes you to a higher place where the personal ego is removed.

We have no idea what really is for the highest good.

Even though we always want our prayers to come true,

It's God's will that has to be accepted.

Prayers get answered in many ways,

Often by people or others around us that convey the answer to our prayers.

It's so important to know miracles also happen every day,

But they do not happen on command.

It is ultimately God's will that is at work in the world,

Not our will.

Prayers do work,

But only if they're for the divine or highest good of all.

We can't even begin to imagine the bigger picture at work on the path and each and every soul's journey.

Only God knows that.

I try to end prayers often with thank you God,

Which seals the belief that knows your prayers are heard,

But you certainly can say amen to seal a prayer.

Here are some prayers that you can say when you're traveling.

Why do we pray?

Thank you God for each and every day.

Lead us to the life to live with love as we pray for us to be kind and to watch what we say and shine your light upon us to show us the way.

Do we need a little more help to find our way out of the wilderness to a better place?

Are we begging the Father to show us the way?

Why do we pray?

Why do we pray?

Are we lighting a candle?

Are we closing our eyes?

Are we down on our knees asking God to bring peace of mind?

Are we begging and pleading for some healing to be done?

Do we need a miracle to happen and a happy ending to come?

Are we even aware that God is right here?

We can always come to terms with ourselves if we take the time to be aware that we can talk to God and share our cares.

Yes,

Miracles do occur and prayers can be heard,

But sometimes they don't and we have to accept the bigger picture here.

Can we embrace life come what may with its moments of joy,

The good and the bad things and whatever happens each day?

Can we learn to pray always and talk to God as our friend to love the Father and Mother and commune with them within?

Can we walk in the steps of the Teacher and become instruments of His love to learn here on earth till we graduate to heaven above?

Thank you God for each and every day and lead us to live with love and pray for us to be kind and to watch what we say,

To shine your light upon us and show us the way.

A Traveler's Prayer I attune my mind to the source of all energy.

I attune my heart to perfect unconditional love.

I ask to be able to express this love.

I ask for understanding and being able to accept that whatever happens that is beyond my will,

I trust that it is for the highest good.

May I choose to be objective and kind when faced with challenging circumstances?

May I know that I can ask for help from within and without and that I will be okay.

I send my highest energy of love and light to the world this and every day.

The Peace Prayer of St.

Francis Lord make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred,

Let me sow love.

Where there is injury,

Pardon.

Where there is doubt,

Faith.

Where there is despair,

Hope.

Where there is darkness,

Light.

Where there is sadness,

Joy.

O Divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,

To be understood as to understand,

To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive,

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Calm.

Lord,

Be with me as I prepare for travel.

Calm my fears so that I can begin the strip rested in mind,

Emotions,

And my body.

Leave me alert for any dangerous situations I may encounter so that I might arrive at my destination unharmed and secure in the knowledge that when my trip is over,

You will always be there to guide me safely on.

Amen.

Divine Protection Holy Father,

I ask You for myself and for every person I pray for who is traveling today to deliver us safely to our destinations.

I ask You to lose Your angels to go before us and to protect us and to move all darkness and destructive forces away from us.

If Your angels have to manifest themselves to protect us,

Please let them to do so.

Amen.

A Prayer for a Pilgrimage Lord,

I ask for Your guidance.

I ask for Your blessings on my way.

May my journey be a pilgrimage to find love each and every day.

Lord,

With my soul's eyes I see miracles in this world all around.

I follow on Your pathway where the mysteries abound.

Let me see the wonders.

Let me learn from what is found.

Guide me to the special spots where heaven touches ground.

Keep me safe within Your light.

Bring me joy that with grace surrounds.

Lord,

Let me be Your servant of love and with my heart let me see all of this life as a journey within and outside of me.

I humbly give my gratitude for the greatest gift that's free.

I thank You for this wonderful world and the creation that lets it be.

God's Guidance God guide us on our journey.

Protect us as we go.

Let Your bright light guide us and let Your love be with us always so we know we're not alone.

As You would gently show,

We are all part of that one of the many travelers on the road.

Let us find some time to smile and to just say hello.

Lord,

Guide us on our journey and let us go with God and with God's blessings go.

Prayer for Protection Grant,

O Lord,

Thy protection and in protection strength and in strength understanding and in understanding knowledge and in knowledge the knowledge of justice and in justice the love of it and in the love of it the love of all existence and in that love the love of spirit and of all creation.

Garden in Heaven Imagine a garden in heaven.

Let it be a place of complete peace.

Picture the radiant light that calms your mind.

Let it just be there and dwell amidst the flowers and the streams.

Let this place be a place in your heart that holds your dreams.

Be there and imagine blossoms of roses falling gently from above.

Your sweet fragrance calms your senses and fills you with divine love.

Remember there is always that place of heaven in your mind and be in the garden of heaven whenever you find the time.

From that place say a prayer and thank you to God for the garden in heaven where there's love above that dwells.

The Lord's Prayer There have been many translations of the Lord's Prayer but here are two that I love.

They're translated from the Aramaic version by John Mark Hammer.

Father,

Mother of the Cosmos,

Shimmering light of all.

Use your light within us as we breathe your holy breath.

Enter the sanctuary of our hearts,

Uniting within us the sacred rays of your power and beauty.

Let your heart's desire unite heaven and earth throughout our sacred union.

Forgive our secret fears as we freely choose to forgive the secret fears of others.

Let us not enter into forgetfulness,

Tempted by false appearances,

For from your astonishing fire comes the eternal song which sanctifies all.

Renewed eternally in our lives and throughout creation,

We seal these words in our hearts,

Committed in trust and faith.

Here's another Aramaic translation of the Lord's Prayer.

Father,

Mother of the Cosmos,

Shimmering light of all.

Focus your light within us as we breathe your holy breath.

Help us to fulfill what lies within the circle of our lives today.

May we face our hidden fears with forgiveness and so learn to forgive others' secret fears.

May we fulfill our life's purpose and join with your love in our hearts.

May your eternal light guide us always.

A prayer for protection.

Beloved Heavenly Father and Mother God,

Jesus Christ,

Mother Mary,

And all of the angels from above who are in heaven as on earth,

We come before you asking for your heavenly help in all things that we do.

We ask for your holy protection always,

At all times,

In all situations,

So that the work we were meant to do in this world will not be disrupted or delayed in any way,

But will proceed with ease,

Peace,

And blessings.

We call for round-the-clock protection around the airport,

Around the plane,

And all around us.

We call for solid protection around our loved ones at all times as well.

Keep us in the brightest light.

Keep us immune to the negative pulse of the world,

People,

Or spirits.

Keep us happy in seeing the truth in every situation and free of judgment against our brethren.

Keep us always alert to potential dangers coming from any source whatsoever,

Whether seen or unseen,

Known or unknown.

And may we always have an avenue of escape from danger or mishap whenever necessary.

Let us truly be instruments of the divine,

Seeing clearly what would be the best course of action to take,

If any,

In every situation before us.

Speak words of wisdom and counsel into our listening ears,

And see to it that we are always surrounded by angels of light,

Protection,

Wisdom,

And love.

Let us truly reflect the presence of God on earth as it is in heaven.

The New Age invocation.

From the point of light within the mind of God,

Let light stream forth into the minds of humanity.

A simple prayer for the angels' protection.

God's angels guard and keep you all the way that you must travel to earth's days or past.

When blossoms fade and time is fleeting fast,

And times appear as joy or pain and fear,

God's angels guard and keep you safe.

The Serenity Prayer.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

The courage to change the things I can,

And the wisdom to know the difference.

The Unity Prayer of Protection.

The light of God surrounds me.

The love of God enfolds me.

The power of God watches over me.

Wherever I am,

God is and all is well.

The Traditional Lord's Prayer.

Our Father,

Who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

The power and the glory,

Forever and ever.

Amen.

There are prayers.

If for a moment you could just hear all the prayers asking for help in the world.

There are prayers for peace.

There are prayers for humankind.

There are prayers that are just waiting for God's help,

You'd find.

And some ask for miracles,

And some bargain with the Lord,

And some are in such need that a Hail Mary is asked for.

And many are pleased from those in great fear,

And some are spoken when broken on their knees in supplication here.

When there's no hope left and prayers are called for.

When the pain is so great and some amazing grace is begged for.

Then we might see prayers that are answered in so many ways.

And we are so grateful when we are given our way.

And we believe it's true that some prayers are spoken only when in need for you.

Even the Masters need prayers every day.

And if we could hear what in prayers they say,

We might find hope when there's no hope to find.

Even if you don't know it,

There may be someone out there praying for you.

Is there a candle out there that burns with your name?

Is a light shining in the darkness to see you through?

And if you were able to listen to hear the prayers from the desperate and broken souls that beseech God to help them to end their fear,

It would seem all the prayers that are calling out might be more than you could bear.

Is that why we all have been asked to have faith?

For some prayers are met and some prayers do save,

And always there are some miracles that are made.

So I'm reminded to remember that it's true that God and Jesus need your prayers to help them to make all of those other prayers come true.

The Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra is revered and recited in most Buddhist traditions.

It aids in self-liberation and is said to lead to enlightenment.

I find it very helpful to say every day.

It's a very,

Very ancient text and there are so many interpretations of it.

It helps to really put things in perspective,

Especially when you find yourself getting in deep and losing a little bit of objectivity.

Avalokitesvara,

The bodhisvata of compassion,

Practicing deeply on the perfection of wisdom,

Saw clearly that the five aspects of human existence are empty and so released himself from suffering.

Answering the monk Sharaputra,

He said this,

Body is nothing more than emptiness.

Emptiness nothing more than body.

The body is exactly empty and emptiness is exactly body.

The other four aspects of human existence,

Feeling,

Thought,

Will and consciousness are likewise nothing more than emptiness.

And emptiness nothing more than they.

All things are empty.

Nothing is born,

Nothing dies,

Nothing is pure,

Nothing is stained,

Nothing increases and nothing decreases.

So in emptiness there is no body,

No feeling,

No thought,

No will,

No consciousness.

There are no eyes,

No ears,

No nose,

No tongue,

No body,

No mind.

There is no seeing,

No hearing,

No smelling,

No tasting,

No touching,

No imagining.

There is nothing seen,

Nothing heard,

Nor smelled,

Nor tasted,

Nor touched,

Nor imagined.

There is no ignorance and no end to ignorance.

There is no old age and death.

There is no end to old age and death.

There is no suffering,

No cause of suffering,

No end to suffering,

No path to follow.

There is no attainment of wisdom and no wisdom to attain.

The Bodhisattvas rely on the perfection of wisdom and so with no delusions they feel no fear.

They have nirvana here and now.

All the Buddhas past,

Present and future rely on the perfection of wisdom and live in full enlightenment.

The perfection of wisdom is the greatest mantra.

It is the clearest mantra,

The highest mantra,

The mantra that removes all suffering.

This is the truth and cannot be doubted.

Say it so.

Gate,

Gate,

Paragate,

Parasamgate bodhisva,

Which means gone,

Gone,

Gone over,

Gone fully over,

Awakened,

So be it.

A prayer for Mother Earth.

O Great Spirit,

We send our light and love for the healing of planet Earth and to the existence of the plant,

Animal and mineral kingdoms and to all beings incarnate and disincarnate.

May we help to balance,

Restore and heal the polarities,

Rhythms and cycles of natural forces.

May peace and goodwill guide those who work together to serve the planet so God's plan may be fulfilled for the highest good of all.

Amazing grace,

God I ask that you be with me on my journey.

I ask that you and your angels to guide and protect me.

May I be open to your amazing grace and love.

When I'm frightened,

Give me strength and courage.

When I'm down and worrying,

Lift my spirits.

May you lead my path and light the way when I'm in darkness.

May I be a blessing to those I encounter and may I be open to be blessed.

Fill me with your peace.

Center me in your love.

Thank you God.

Breathe deep.

Breathe deep my fellow travelers.

Breathe in the light of the brand new dawn.

See the road that lies ahead and all the work yet to be done.

There is a deep sigh of gratitude that goes to all across this land.

There are so many people who worked so hard and believed in their own stand.

So we breathe in deep so we can carry on because no one stands alone.

For every soul is connected and in truth we are all one.

It's back to work to do whatever we find we can.

It's time to carry on and take a good look at how we can help our fellow man.

We pray for all the weary souls who have been tried and tested by time.

We dedicate ourselves to reaching out and helping those who need more compassion in time.

For there is a need for unity and lessons to be learned.

The harvest has been gathered so we breathe deep and pray for the blessings we received and the unity we pray will come to serve our fellow man each and every day.

A prayer for the world.

Make a wish for the world as we all join together and pray for the way that we might help humankind every day.

Make a wish and remember we're all here to join in some way that we can help redeem a higher plan.

Each soul has a purpose that resonates to why we're here and how we all can do what we can do to make it better here.

If you believe and you see the way you can help,

Your wishes will blossom like a garden in heaven,

Each flower a gift to hold in your hands to offer to God.

Make a wish for the world and believe for a moment we can make a difference as we join in spirit as one.

Make a wish for the world and when your time here is over,

You might realize the seeds that you planted are blessings that you left here and they may inspire others who come to carry on the work that is left in the dream of creation.

There is a never-ending need to pray for each who searches to find a way.

Make a wish and believe there is a better world that can come.

Lay the groundwork we lay and please do remember that prayers are answered every day.

Prayer to release worry and have hope.

Mother of creation,

Mother so divine,

With you all things are possible.

We call upon your brilliant light.

Let us trust in you Lord so we can trust in ourself so we may learn not to worry so to have faith that things will be alright.

We do the best we can.

We work to do what's right and sometimes we will find whatever happens happens but we can find the strength to survive.

In each and every moment we can choose to stop and see with you all things are possible if we believe with every breath we breathe.

So I let go of worry.

I let go of whatever limits me.

I open up my mind to find a higher way to be.

Lord with you all things are possible and miracles do appear so I stop myself from worrying and I turn to God when fear appears.

I allow the light to brighten the view of life I see and look for positive outcomes when times seem hard.

I pray for faith to have the strength to believe.

A prayer for strength and courage.

Take all the crutches away.

Move the safety net and pray to have courage each and every day to trust in God to be with you today.

Holy Mother Jesus Christ let us see through the dark and know the light will come at dawn and we'll have the strength to carry on.

In times all forms will fade away but the Holy Spirit will remain.

These ashes are just ashes cosmic dust from infinite space.

We can celebrate the good in life the love given and receive with grace as this breath does come and go a sign of life and our soul.

We can be freed and awake to the higher purpose that awaits and in time God's energy will be redeemed and our life's reasons will be revealed.

Till then we can be connected each and every day to a thread line of clues that come when we meditate and pray and be ever so grateful to those who point the way.
