Mercy
A talk and meditation on Mercy. Mercy is such a deep subject, and I feel that Humanity has been crying out for Mercy after all of the challenges of these last few months. I go into when we are ready to change what it takes and how to be free of old patterns.

Aloha,
I'm Reverend Cindy Palos and I'm going to talk about the subject of mercy today.
We have so many interesting images when we bring up the word mercy.
Sometimes an image may come to you of someone who's done something and they're in court before a judge and they plead for mercy,
Right?
Or perhaps you might remember the beautiful image of Scrooge when he'd been visited by all the ghosts of the past and the present and what could be in the future.
And he begs for mercy to be free of what he'd done in his life.
And then we have what has been happening to us and humanity.
Some of the most difficult,
Challenging times I've ever seen with the pandemic.
And then of course,
All of the issues that have arisen and all the shadows that have come up that we've had to face and all of the people demanding some equality.
And so there's such a need right now to understand the power of mercy.
Now many people could equate it to forgiveness because there are certainly elements of forgiveness in mercy.
And there's certainly elements of compassion that are involved in mercy.
And mercy is in a way standing in its own realm of asking a higher force to be let off the hook.
When you finally know something has happened and you just want to be able to be free of the consequences.
Sometimes it may come as an act of grace.
Sometimes it may come as a miracle.
Sometimes it may come as an answered prayer.
And we beg for mercy in so many ways.
There's many who pleaded for mercy to overcome the challenges of this pandemic of COVID-19.
And many asking for mercy to bring some kind of sense of normalcy and peace into their lives.
And we need to step out of our regular mind when we ask for mercy,
Right?
We need to be having a prayer and a conversation with the higher force and with God to ask for that mercy and pray for that gift of mercy to come into our lives.
But what's really also very,
Very important with mercy is that we know that if we really get it and we ask for mercy,
Just like when you bargain for something really important in a prayer and you say,
If you give me this God,
I will do that,
You know,
You know that bargaining point.
So mercy is in a way also asking for a second lease on life,
A second chance,
A way to make amends,
A way to be redeemed and to know that if we can get out of the situation we're in,
We're willing to make a change because it becomes obvious to us when we're at that point of surrender and prayer and pleading for mercy that we do need a way out.
And it's interesting,
A lot of times we have to also believe that we can make that change and that we are worthy of mercy because many times when they have had,
People have had many chances and failed,
Whether it be with drug addiction or alcoholism or some terrible crime that they've committed,
Are they really finally willing to make a change?
And so it may not be at that point where you're standing before a judge for some crime you committed,
But in your inner judgment,
In your inner level,
In your true conversation that you have with your inner self and with God,
That's where you need to feel like you can finally be free of any of that part of you that has been truly that cross to bear.
Life is very interesting because we're kind of in that meeting place of light and dark,
The yin and the yang and if you look at the cross,
It's the dark and the light,
It's the vertical and the horizontal and right in the middle is that crucifixion point,
That meeting point,
That when where life happens and when are we really allowing ourselves to be free of that cross we may carry,
To be allowing ourselves to get into the next part of ourselves and our lives and our chapter and be free of the karma and the baggage.
I don't know if you've ever had a chance to see a movie,
It's one of my all-time favorite movies,
It's called The Mission and it was so powerful and so beautiful with a fantastic soundtrack from Ennio Morricini,
Or maybe it's pronounced Mor-see-nee,
But it's about a man who has killed someone,
I believe it's in Spain,
Takes place in a different century and he comes to try to save himself and to be redeemed,
He goes to South America and with finds a group that he wants to be redeemed with and he carries on his back this huge burden,
I mean it's a very heavy heavy burden full of all kinds of things that weighs so much and he tries to carry that burden,
He finally carries that burden up a huge waterfall and at one point there's someone with him who's a priest and he just cuts,
He cuts that burden,
He cuts that burden he's carrying right off his back,
You know,
And he still didn't quite feel,
He didn't quite feel like he was ready to be saved,
But he went to a stream where there were these beautiful natives living in the jungle and he hears an oboe played a song from a child and it just brings him that state of grace where indeed he is able to find mercy and to start a new life and to become a new person,
If you get a chance to watch it I think you'll enjoy it.
So are we ready at some point in our life to say enough,
You know,
Enough,
I'm free and I want to be free of that part of myself,
I want to let go of that baggage,
I want to find some mercy in my life.
Now how would you do that?
You could pray.
I wrote a poem and I'm going to be playing it at the end of this talk called Mercy.
I wrote a poem just recently and it's called Mercy Is and I'd say mercy is the breath of God's spirit and I say all the things that mercy is but then after saying it so many times I realize mercy is more than that.
So let's go into that place,
That place where we're really ready to cut that tie,
Whatever baggage we're carrying,
That point of when,
When,
When is now,
When are you ready to be free of the burdens,
When are you ready to be enlightened,
When are you ready to be completely filled with that light and love that we're here for and that's such a huge shift and change and you know what it's up to you and it's up to you and your relationship with your soul and God.
So let's go to that place,
Let's breathe in,
Breathing in deeply,
Breathing in that light of compassion and let it fill our whole body,
Our mind,
Let your mind be free.
Feel all the tension going out of your head,
Your face,
Your jaw,
Your eyes and breathe light into your entire head area,
Any of the stress that you've been going through over the last few months.
Just breathe in and let it go.
Breathe deeply in now to your chakra that's there in the throat center,
The creative center and allow yourself to feel the power and the energy there,
The blue light of the throat chakra that is so creative and feel that energy now of love and compassion and healing coming into your heart center and breathe love into that heart center.
Breathe love from the highest being,
From the master into that heart.
Feel the complete unconditional love from which you were born right there in your heart.
Be there in that stillness of that love.
Feel it removing any of the blocks,
Any of the old issues that need to be released.
Allow them now to be released and place them out in front of you into a chalice and breathe in again and move down to your centers that hold your emotions and your second chakra and your root chakra.
Are there any ties you want to free right now,
Any old karma,
Any more issues and pain that you've been hiding that you just don't want to carry and that you want to find mercy and release that forgiveness,
That ultimate forgiveness there.
Breathe in and allow those issues now to be placed out in front of you into a beautiful golden chalice.
Cut any ties you have,
Any karmic ties,
Anything holding you to these things that have held you back in life.
Breathe into that power to release yourself and see that chalice now filled with anything you need to be released,
Anything that you need to forgive,
Any part of you that needs mercy.
And now visualize that beautiful chalice being lifted up in the light of compassion,
The light of forgiveness,
The light of mercy and see that chalice lifted higher and higher and higher till you see your soul now send it to God and you see that energy of that chalice being taken by the light of God's love and being completely transformed and freed and into that chalice now.
Allow the power of the light of mercy and redemption to come into that chalice as a nectar,
The sweetest nectar of love and allow that chalice to be poured down to your soul and your soul pouring it down now to your crown chakra and your crown chakra now completely bathing your entire body in the light of forgiveness and compassion and mercy.
Believe that you are free of any of the old chains.
Now is when,
Now is when you are ready to begin again to feel the joy you were meant to feel,
To feel the love.
Right now feel joy.
Feel that love.
Feel the wings of freedom.
Feel those wings surround you and hold you and lift you so that you know you have the power to be free.
Breathe that energy in and absorb it,
Embody it,
Believe it and now set yourself free and know you can fulfill your purpose and destiny.
A mama,
A mama,
Ua Noa,
The prayer is free.
May you be blessed in your life now and always with mercy and love.
Mercy is the breath of God's spirit.
The taking in and the letting go,
The birthing and the dying,
The power and the strength of the soul.
Mercy is asking and giving compassion and having the strength to forgive and to be forgiven,
To be glad to be alive,
To enjoy life and grow and thrive.
Mercy is a prayer,
A meditation,
The hope of hopes and the acceptance to be able to understand when there are no clues at hand.
Mercy is alive in the miracle of a second chance to awaken to a brand new day without stopping or thinking,
Just partaking of the divine dance.
Mercy is what's at the end of the tunnel to open the heart and smile,
To find that grace of spirit and return back into the light.
Mercy is God's love and action that clears the path ahead and transforms us at last to the best we can be when we are free as a co-creator of God's divinity.
And we choose to be in that light where we truly see the blessings of God's great mercy.
