Life After Life
I talk about Life after Death and how we can connect in Spirit with loved ones after they have passed on. I give an overview of how we live life after life. How do we remember and memorialize loved ones. Can we be happy for those who have Graduated to the next level? can we accept that everyone dies? Plus a meditation on this.

Aloha,
Welcome,
Welcome.
It's so good to see you here today or to feel you here today.
This is a very deep subject we're going to be doing today.
This is an interesting subject and I have been going very deeply into the subject of life after life because I don't believe there really is a death,
There's a transition.
And I started calling dying a graduation because to me our time here on earth is a school of learning.
We learn every day.
I experienced death at an early age and there's a gift.
I just want you to know there's a gift with every loved one who makes a transition,
Whether it be a family member,
A very dear friend,
A little pet guardian or a big pet guardian.
There are gifts that come from every single transition.
And if we are open to them,
They can help change our life.
And this year,
This last year,
2020,
So it's not this year,
Last year,
I have never seen so many people making their transition.
And I felt I had to really go into the subject of dealing with our bodies,
Being here for a short time and then moving on.
We know we know we are all going to die.
That's the amazing thing,
Right?
We know even before we come to this earth,
We know we're here for a temporary time.
But that doesn't change the fact that we all want to live as long as we can live.
In fact,
I just found something new out that completely amazed me just about five minutes before I started talking to you here.
You might have heard of the amazing woman,
Elizabeth Kugler Ross.
She wrote the definitive book on death and dying and grieving.
And she wrote that about 50 years ago.
And it's called On Death and Dying.
And she wrote the five stages of greed,
Denial,
Anger,
Bargaining,
Depression and acceptance.
But one thing I didn't know that after all those years of study,
Before she died,
Her son just wrote a very interesting piece that she said to her son,
I don't want to die.
So this says something interesting to all of us,
Even though we know and may have studied our whole life,
That we are here just for a temporary while and then we pass on.
There's still this amazing holding on that we have to life.
And we can study and study and we'll talk about it,
Tell you what happens.
But then there's something that happens before we do leave.
Sometimes it holds on.
Now some passages are very,
Very much accepted and taken into piece and others aren't,
But everyone is different.
There's a beautiful ceremony that began years ago here.
And it happens on Oahu.
I don't know if some of you have heard about it,
But it's kind of expresses to me what happens when we can accept a transition.
People gather on the beach there and they're given little,
They're beautiful.
They look like canoes,
Outrigger canoes,
But they have these sails that look like lanterns on a canoe.
And you're given something to write a message to your loved one on and you put it in the canoe and then you go at sunset to the beach.
And now thousands and thousands gathered.
Now last year they couldn't have because of COVID-19,
But they gather on the beach and there's this beautiful Shinto ceremony where there's words sung,
Words spoken and songs.
And then there's actually bells that ring and it's really lovely.
And there's a sense of peace you get.
And then everyone lines up on the beach and puts their beautiful little,
It's about seven or eight inches,
Their little canoe out into the water.
And then you see,
They're lit with a candle and you see all these thousands,
Literally thousands of canoes going off into the sunset,
Into the waters.
Now,
If you're concerned about the environment,
They catch them at the end and then they bring them back so they can be used again and recycled.
So they're recycling them.
But when you watch this,
A few things happens.
You realize how many people have lost loved ones.
And it reminded me of,
Maybe you've heard this story about Buddha,
The story about Buddha,
Where a grieving woman comes to Buddha in just complete,
Complete grief and sorrow and asks him for help.
She's lost her son.
And he tells her to go into the village and go door to door and ask every single person if they have lost a loved one and how they are feeling about it.
And she does that.
And she realizes when she does this that everyone experiences the same grief.
It's not,
Even though it feels like we're going through it,
We realize now more than ever,
So many thousands,
So many thousands of people are making their transition.
And I wanted to share with you a Lakota story that really,
I think,
Might also explain to you the power of grief.
That it's not something that's even like Elizabeth Kubler-Ross,
That this isn't something you have to feel ashamed of or feel bad about,
Even if you know that life is temporary,
As we all do,
And that you can make your transition.
And there's a sense,
It says in the Lakota tradition,
That when someone is struck by the grief and the complete sorrow,
They are on the threshold of the spirit world.
Their heart is open,
Their spirit is strong.
And they realize all of a sudden this amazing energy that comes in when they're broken open.
Maybe you've heard the Leonard Cohen song Anthem,
Where you have to let the light in when you're broken,
The light can come in.
And that's what happens.
My father passed away when I was 13 years old.
It was the day after Christmas,
December 26.
I remember seeing him on Christmas night walking up,
We had a very big house,
He was walking up the stairway.
And I remember him seeing like he was having such a hard time walking up those stairs.
We had a wrought iron staircase,
It was a rather large staircase.
And the next morning on the 26th,
My mother screamed and I went upstairs.
And I saw my father's body laying there.
And I just knew by looking at him,
If any of you have experienced a death of and seen a person laying there,
You know,
When you look at them,
Their spirits gone.
The body's there.
But I looked at him,
I actually was strangely out of my body when I looked at him.
And I said to my mother,
He's not there.
He's gone.
And I walked out of the room.
And then I ran downstairs,
We had quite a few stairs.
And I ran into the street.
And then a voice came very strong in my head.
What are you running from?
And I stopped in my steps.
What am I running from?
And I went back.
And I kind of watched the process of the grieving and the things that happened when someone dies.
And somehow it was very interesting to see it from an out of body perspective.
And then three days after my father died,
My mother said that he came to her in spirit and kissed her on the forehead and said,
There is a forever.
And on the place at the where he's buried.
And we have a plaque that says there is a forever.
And then when my mother passed away,
She passed away about 15 years ago.
I got these words that came to me.
And I did a CD called there is a forever.
And all of the words that came were brought to me by the spirit of my mother.
And there is a forever is is really a beautiful,
Beautiful sense of knowing that yes,
We are here.
We change our form,
We go to spirit,
And we move on but there is a forever.
And that forever changes form.
It changes form.
And we may not even necessarily recognize the form that it changes.
I don't know about you,
But I've experienced many,
Many previous lifetimes.
And it was interesting when I experienced those lifetimes,
I could see my eyes and different bodies,
Sometimes a man,
Sometimes a woman,
Sometimes different countries,
They're mostly different countries,
One time in American Revolution time,
But in someone was in Scotland a long time ago,
One was in Atlantis,
One was in Egypt,
But glimpses of segments.
So these are part of our existence as different transitions.
So I want to talk about the different levels of how you can connect with your grief.
And how you can go inside and experience that energy that opens you up to possibilities.
That energy of my father passing started me in metaphysics and meditation when I was 13 years old.
And at that point,
I started really looking into what happens,
What happens when someone dies,
When you see that body,
But you know,
That there's some other essence in this presence.
I had a dear friend named Gloria,
I think I mentioned to you there was a lady named Gloria I knew and I gave her Reiki,
She had cancer for quite a long time.
And I gave her Reiki for a long,
Long time.
And we were very close.
We had a woman's circle,
We gathered for years together.
And she called me once and I knew that it was close to possibly her cancer come back and she was close to passing.
And I couldn't hear her on the phone.
So I drove over as quickly as I could and I saw this dark cloud over where she lived and I went up to her room and she had passed on.
And I got in her lay and I placed a lay over her head and then this energy,
This spirit,
This swirling energy came into the room.
I'm getting chicken skin,
We call it chicken skin,
You may call it goosebumps,
Came into the room.
I mean,
The drapes moved and her presence came to me like a robe of blessing.
Now,
Many of you may have stories of similar things happening.
If you have been present when someone's making a transition,
You may actually feel that energy as a almost like an energy cloud.
I still feel people who come to me who have passed on almost like a cloud of energy.
It's like a breeze,
But it's not visible.
I don't know if some of you know how I'm expressing it.
There are many signs you can see if you need and you ask for some kind of expression of the person's passing.
I've seen rainbows when I'm thinking of someone.
In fact,
When Gloria,
After Gloria died,
Three days later,
We were doing the memorial service and this beautiful,
Beautiful rainbow went right over,
We were putting her out in the canoe with the ashes to be spread in the ocean.
And this rainbow was present that was amazing.
And I see feathers,
White feathers.
Sometimes after someone's passed,
I'll be walking.
I like to walk a lot.
And a white feather will show up where there's no bird present,
Just fall right at my feet.
I have some on my altar still.
Maybe some of you have experienced that.
There's sometimes an item you can find.
I've had this happen after someone's passed.
I found out a while after they passed that they passed and all of a sudden something that they've given me is shown up out of nowhere.
I go into a room and there's an item.
It's like,
Wow,
Okay.
There's many confirmations we can get that that spirit's with us.
I happen to love to write and this is a book called Angel Blessings.
And you might see it's,
These are all different messages about the death and the dying process and poems.
And I write messages poems.
And these are all about this God and spirit,
Angels,
Peace,
Forgiveness,
Release,
Connecting with your soul.
And I still love some of the great quotes from some of the great poems.
And one is from Khalil Gibran saying,
For what is it to die,
But to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs then shall you truly dance.
Now that expresses it so very beautifully.
I would suggest if you've lost a loved one,
And I say the word lost,
Because that's what we say.
I recently interviewed Steven Simon.
You might remember him.
He wrote the book,
He did that produced the movie,
What Dreams May Come.
And that to me,
That movie with Robin Williams expresses so beautifully what happens when you pass on.
He didn't write the screenplay that was written by someone else.
But he recently,
Two years ago,
I think,
Found his wife had died when he'd gone out to exercise in the gym and he came back and she was laying there and he adored her.
He was very close to her.
They were very,
Very dependent upon each other.
And here was a man who was very,
He did the spiritual cinema circle you might know.
And he was completely devastated by his beloved's death.
And he kept praying for a while,
Nothing came.
And finally there was an opening.
And now he's written a book called What Dreams Have Come about how she then come to him and talks to him and gives him messages.
And I believe you can have that same thing happen.
I have that happen.
No two people are the same in the way they get their messages.
But two things happen when someone passes that we love.
One is that we have to honor our death passage.
We have to honor our grief that happens in us.
We have to,
I would say,
Make a,
I like to meditate,
I light a candle.
Maybe I put a person's picture there or a favorite item that I have and I usually receive a message from them.
That's the way I do it.
And we have to allow ourselves to be open and ask for messages to come to us,
Through us,
From them because people will not have,
We have free will and those who have passed away in spirit will not dishonor that energy where if you don't want it,
It won't come.
So you need to open the door.
I feel when someone's made that transition they leave a doorway open for us to reach them in spirit.
And if you ask,
If you ask for messages,
I believe they can come.
So allow yourself to have two kind of understandings.
One to realize that person is in a place that is so,
So,
So much better than here.
I've experienced in,
When I had an enlightenment experience,
I experienced many stages and one was the after death state,
The astral level and a mental plane level.
And once you've experienced how absolutely beautiful this heavenly state is,
It's really hard to come back.
You know,
You do come back because you have things to do.
But believe me,
There's so many times I miss being in that beautiful state that we call heaven.
But we can connect with that state because it's inside us because we have that spirit that is in our soul that goes from here to there.
So number one,
Know that your beloved is in a very,
Very,
Very wonderful place.
And know that it's okay to grieve and experience what you're going through and your loved one is there with you and available in spirit for you.
They don't wish us to grieve.
They don't wish us to feel sad and desperate.
But at the same time,
It is natural and you have to experience what you're going through,
Right?
I mean,
It's important to know that it's okay that you go through this.
So what I'd like to do friends,
Is to open that door that goes from your soul to that spirit and that loved one a little wider.
And I'd like to have you imagine,
You are going to write that note that you send out in the canoe that you send out in that that vehicle that goes out into the water,
Lit into the sunset.
And it's a beautiful thing.
And it may just and I don't I don't want you to stress about this it,
You know,
Believe me,
So many people just write,
I love you.
I love you.
I miss you.
Or they have a little story.
But this is your sacred communication.
This is your letter that you're going to write to your loved one.
And it's very,
Very healing.
It's for you and your loved one.
And even though you're writing it down,
And you can use a pen,
Paper,
A computer,
A notepad,
Your phone,
Whatever.
Because mainly that letter is going to go in spirit to them.
Now you can keep the spirit letter,
You can keep it at your altar place,
You can even frame it.
But the main thing is to know that you can make that connection,
That you can open that door to that beautiful spirit.
I want to tell you one of the blessing that comes when you have a loved one that is passed on.
And I've seen this in so many people's lives.
And you can actually read many stories when someone's lost a loved one,
Sometimes at a young age,
That loved one spirit is watching over them.
And so many blessings and things can happen as your loved one spirit comes to you.
My sister,
Pam,
Passed away.
And that was this summer.
And it was a rather difficult experience because I knew that if her husband had taken her to the hospital,
She would have survived but her husband didn't want to go to the hospital because it was Houston.
And there was a lot of COVID going on.
So I mean,
He told me this that he let her be there hoping she just get better and she kind of went into a coma.
And then a day later she died.
But I had to come to terms with that.
We all have things we have to come to terms with when someone passes on.
And then a few days later,
As I was meditating,
I got to I write a lot.
And I know when it's a different voice.
And I got this other message that was so beautiful that I know what came from her and I'm making it into a song.
And it's called In the Hands of God.
And this is what my message was from her.
We are in the hands of God.
Every moment of every day held there in the love that holds such amazing grace.
I give thanks for that presence that is constantly there with me.
I remember in life to pray and find that inner peace.
God is my true companion.
For we never walk alone.
The constant Spirit lifts us to find a higher ground in the hands of God.
We thank the Lord each day for helping us when we are lost and cannot find our way.
Spirit is a blessing that speaks in silent waves.
I honor that divine blessing that accompanies us eternally every day in the hands of God.
And I got a series I got a series of about six of them.
It was actually miraculous the way it came to be a priest in South Africa saw a post I put on Facebook and he wrote beautiful music to this and then I found a wonderful man who wants to orchestrate it and a heavenly angelic woman who wants to sing it.
So that's all being guided and handled because it's in the hands of God.
And when we kind of can release whatever we have we're going through and turn it over whatever there might be that we have to come to peace with about this transition and turn it over to the hands of God.
There's this burden that's lifted.
There's this energy that is not a cloud over us.
It is turned over to that higher source that can indeed handle it in a much better way than we can.
So we're going to just get comfortable here.
And as I was telling you I learned to meditate when I was young after my father's passing and to me that's been the greatest gift of my life.
I love meditation because it connects me with spirit.
It connects me with my soul and it connects me with God.
And I know many of you beautiful souls here meditate and your time that you can have in meditation can really open doors especially especially if there's a loved one that's passed on.
So let's take a moment and just go inside to that sacred place inside where you can communicate with your inner self your soul and that spirit that takes you to the highest place within.
And in that highest place within is the spirit that's dwelling in that beautiful realm we call heaven.
So let's just take some deep clearing breaths in.
Let's breathe in that love that we feel when we think of a loved one.
I just want you to have a sense of your loved one and breathe in that heavenly energy.
It's five years today that my stepfather who was my mentor and teacher and who started the University of Metaphysics passed on.
And as I said that I sense his presence here with me right now.
Maybe you're sensing immediately some energy that's welcome in that beautiful love that comes from spirit breathing in and opening up our heart to that love and release any pain any sorrow anything we may need to release any forgiveness we may need to experience around that transition.
Open your heart wide and put a lovely beautiful radiant white light around you that goes out six feet in protection and know you are in a sacred cocoon right now.
This is your time of communion.
You have an opportunity right now to connect in spirit.
Feel anything that might shift in your body.
I feel a tingling energy.
Breathe it in and welcome it without fear.
Just know that you are protected you are safe you are in the hands of God and allow yourself to go to that place within your soul that sacred place that golden room that you can go to to commune with your energy and your soul.
Dwell in this space here and feel comfortable in that I am that I am presence right now here with you and ask in the sacred place of your soul.
If there is any word any thought any memory any message any feeling that needs to come to you now.
Let's now be open to receive that blessed blessed energy from that perch in your soul to God.
Feel yourself in your soul opening up in that light to the light of all lights to that heavenly light in the realms of the angelic beings in the realms of heaven.
Feel that energy of your loved one with you now.
Feel that love.
Feel that light.
Allow yourself to feel that unconditional love that makes it all right.
Feel any healing come that needs to be healed.
Allow yourself to know that loved one is there with you.
Do not be afraid you're safe you're in your protective cocoon in the hands of God.
You're surrounded by your guardians and your loved ones always.
We very rarely call upon them but they are there for us when we need.
If there's any message you want to write down or send in light right now possibly it's a stream of love gratitude for their presence in your life.
Whatever you wish to commune with them right now allow yourself to be in this place of peace and love where you can do so.
Feel that energy that blessed sacred energy.
Breathe it in.
Bathe yourself in this love that's present and send love out to your loved one and anyone else that you may have known that is lost.
I'm using the word lost who's had a loved one pass on.
Send them.
Let's now let's send love out to the world to all those who've gone through transitions from that sacred place inside.
Let's see them being relieved of pain and suffering and feeling the love their loved one has for them.
Let's send that love out.
There's been such a time of transition and now there is a bridge a rainbow bridge that's bringing more heaven to earth.
More and more energy ever than ever before in any time I've known and we are part of the ones that can enforce this sacred bridge of love and light and this beautiful opening from heaven to earth.
Honor it.
Feel it.
Send it out and allow these transitions to be honored with love and with light and with the beauty of their graduation to that higher realm.
And now feel that love come back to you a hundred fold.
Feel that energy in your heart calming you in your mind radiating forth for you.
Know that you are always available to receive these blessings to send these blessings and to be present in that beautiful light from your loved ones.
Write down anything that has come to you now.
Give yourself time to make a note and say thank you thank you thank you thank you loved one thank you God for this time together.
And together we say thank you Lord and so it is I thank each of you for being present here today.
God bless you and be with you always.

Such a lovely talk and meditation, Rev. Cindy. It is so relevant to us all, for we all eventually pass from this beautiful Earth, and we nearly all experience the passing of loved ones and the subsequent grief. I am so glad you recorded this from your live meditation. (I'm looking forward to your next live meditation, too, BTW!) Love and blessings to you. 💖
