Inspiration
Inspiration is one of the great gifts you can receive from meditation. It comes in many ways but it is always a blessing. When you learn to invite the muse into your life you have a source of creativity. When you learn to connect with the Muse's Muse you have a never-ending ability to be inspired. I encourage you to listen to your Spirit's guidance.

Aloha,
I'm Reverend Cindy Palos and I would like to talk about how important inspiration is.
We all need to be inspired.
And if we look at the word in,
Spirit inspired,
Inspiration,
It's being in that energy of spirit.
And that energy,
That precious energy from spirit feeds our soul.
It feeds our heart.
It feeds our mind.
It feeds our body.
It fuels our life.
And this is where getting up in the morning,
Taking a moment and pausing and looking up at the sky or like I do early when it's dark,
Looking at the stars,
Taking a moment to step outside the mind and the doing part of ourself and just being,
Being present in that wonder,
That wonder of life that inspires us.
When we sit down to meditate,
I light a candle always and I say some prayers that I've always said every day,
Invocations and prayers,
Kind of laying the field for calling in light and spirit.
But the muse,
The muse is a very fickle,
Interesting energy.
And it does help.
I really,
After doing this every day for over 55 years,
It really does help.
I did start when I was very young,
I think 12 or 13.
But I have to say when you do get used to and spirit gets used to you and attuned to you and as you attune to spirit,
It's just like having spirit guides.
That energy field,
That muse knows when you're sitting and knows when you're quiet,
Going inside.
But even then you still have to set a table and invite spirit and the muse to join you at the table.
And you have to have commune occasion.
You have to commune in a special way with spirit,
With great respect for the fact that you have no idea what is going to be brought to you by spirit.
I have had many different spirit guides and muses over my long life.
Some I like more than others.
Maybe they're listening.
That's not a good thing.
I do not want to disrespect spirit.
Some are teachers,
Teachers from the higher level or maybe who passed on that I've been friends with.
Some are very,
Very,
Very powerful beings of light.
Some are masters.
Some are related to Christ and Mary.
You begin to feel the difference of who's speaking through you.
And whenever I do a project based on messages I've gotten from spirit,
Like I just finished one,
Love Conquers All I Just Finished,
Was based on really spirit coming to me and guiding me with messages through that whole project.
And at the end of it,
It's interesting.
It's almost like your baby's grown up and left the house when you finish the project.
It's not quite empty nest syndrome,
But you're not getting that same energy fed in that same way.
Because when spirit knows that you're honoring spirit by sharing its messages in any way that that might be,
It could be art,
Could be teachings,
It could be words,
It could be a song.
There's this relationship that you build up.
And then there's afterwards when it's created,
It's like,
Wow,
Okay,
Now what?
Anyone that's created music and an album knows what I'm saying.
Because then it's the hard part,
And it's like,
Oh gosh,
I've got to promote this,
I've got to sell this,
I don't want to sell this.
I mean,
I'm just saying that for anyone listening that's ever done that,
Even whether it's a book or an album,
You understand.
The part that I love is the part where I'm being fed that inspiration.
And my responsibility is to honor it,
Of course.
But that inspiration can come from so many things.
It can come from looking at a sunrise.
Every morning I look at the sunrise and I get inspired.
It can be looking at a sunset.
It could be hearing a bird sing.
It could be seeing kids play in the ocean.
It could be many things.
It could be seeing a baby's face.
It could be falling in love.
It could be falling out of love.
It's whenever we're really touched to our heart and soul and open enough to receive these messages from spirit.
And when you're in that grace,
That place that's a sacred space,
Then amazing energy will come through.
And you have to allow it to permeate through all of your levels of consciousness and subconsciousness and let it take over for a while.
It just wants to,
When it's going,
You know,
Maybe some of you have written a book and you know how it may be hard to get started,
But once you do,
It's hard to stop.
This inspiration,
This muse is a very,
Very interesting thing.
But have you ever stopped and wonder who is the muse's muse?
What inspires the muse?
That inspiration the muse gets comes from another higher source,
The light behind the light,
The breath within the breath,
The love within the love,
The cosmos within the universe,
The energy of the one source of all in a chain of this amazing communication that happens.
We talk about here in Hawai'i,
The Aloha Spirit.
I have a friend who's now doing a show every week on the Aloha Spirit.
And she's been talking to many elders and many kupuna about this Aloha Spirit.
I've been on her show a few times.
And we talk about Aloha.
The word Aloha is such a magical word.
ALO is the presence and HA is breath.
And it's the living presence of breath.
But it's living that presence of breath.
Just like inspiration has a presence,
Its breath also has to be living.
So what that then comes down to is not just being inspired,
But to walk the talk,
To be able to live what you get for these messages from Spirit are lessons that come that we need to learn.
So as we get inspired and we create,
It's a beautiful,
Wonderful thing.
And I've been in the music business most all of my life.
And I've been blessed to know many famous musicians.
And it's interesting over time when you meet the famous musicians,
The ones that really are walking the talk and the ones that aren't.
And there aren't that many that can really live up to that Spirit or that message or that energy or that creation that comes through them.
But there are some and that's a blessing.
George Harrison was one.
I had a chance to meet him a few times.
And I was very,
Very,
Very impressed with him.
One time I was in a recording studio at the record plant with my friend Ron Davis who was recording an album.
I also knew the road manager,
Malcolm Evans.
He was friends with me.
And he of course was there with George as well and Ravi Shankar was there.
And George was producing Ravi Shankar's album.
And I had a chance to introduce George to my friend Ron Davis.
George was so kind that he actually went and recorded four tracks with Ron.
There's no way you could pay to have someone like that come in and join on a studio session.
He didn't charge anything and he couldn't use his real name.
He used the name Harrison.
And once I went to a movie that he was showing,
I have to say George,
I think that mystic influence inspired him and I believe he did walk his talk very well.
I believe Yogananda.
I never got a chance to meet Yogananda but I really believe he walked his talk very well too.
I've had a chance to meet many famous spiritual speakers and not all of them walk their talk.
And I won't mention names there but some do and some don't.
I think Greg Braden definitely walks his talk and is a very kind,
Wonderful,
Inspiring man.
The thing is that when we put people on the altar as we tend to do with people who inspire us,
We have to remember that the people who are carrying the message can't always live up to the message that comes through them from the muse or the muse's muse.
So what does that mean?
It means we recognize the message but we need to get in touch not with the person who brought the message,
Not the messenger,
But the source of the message.
That spirit within,
Going within that place inside in meditation can connect you directly,
Directly,
A direct connection to that muse and to the muse's muse.
What a gift.
What a wonderful gift that we all equally have.
You do not have to have money.
You do not have to have power.
You do not have to have fame.
Anyone can get messages.
Anyone can be inspired.
The Mystic Path is full of that truth.
So I suggest that you get inspired by taking time to meditate,
By going within,
By taking note of what comes to you from spirit and to allow that message that comes through to you,
Guide you and direct you and let it create you and be inspired by that beautiful gift that anyone can have in spirit.
I thank you so much for listening.
I'm going to play a song I wrote called When Spirit Speaks I Listen next.
God bless you and may you always be inspired.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
And from the soul I hear the light that carries frequencies that from God now appear.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
When spirit speaks,
I listen.
I listen in great humility and wonder at the miracle that works in mystery,
That works in mystery.
