How To Stop Worrying

When you worry you create the exact opposite effect than you want. You actually can give what you worry about more energy to make it happen. I give you excellent tools to help overcome the tendency to worry. I also do a meditation to experience how to use those tools.

Aloha.

I'm Rev.

Cindy Paulos and today I'm talking about empaths and what happens when you get full of angst and worry.

As an empath I know that there's many times you start to receive all this input that you get and sometimes from many people,

It could even be through the work you're doing,

It could be through social media.

But when we start to see also the news of what's going on and what people say things are going to happen,

We can get very worried.

And for an empath,

The energy that you receive needs to be channeled not into worry.

It needs to be released from worry.

When you start to worry,

There are all these negative energies you are brewing in your mind.

And for anyone,

When you start to ruminate and think about what could be wrong or what could go wrong,

You are,

As we know,

Attracting to you the very thing that you are worried about.

And it's so important to stop that process.

When you begin to realize that you're going there,

You need to train your mind to put up a red flag to stop.

To just stop and channel that energy into a higher place.

Now one way to do this,

There's many ways to do this,

One way to do this is through breath.

If you find yourself going into a spin or worrying,

You can train yourself to just stop and to breathe in and do a square breath of four counts in to hold your breath and just release your breath for four.

Hold out for four.

Breathing in for four,

Holding for four,

Breathing out for four.

Now what do you notice happens when you breathe?

Tell you one thing that happens is you're taking your power of your mind and all of a sudden focusing on the simple act of breathing.

Nothing to worry about when you're breathing,

You're just going in to the count of four,

Holding for four,

And breathing out for four,

And releasing and holding out for four.

See,

So when you're doing that,

You're redirecting your mind.

That's the same thing that mantras do and chants do.

It's the same thing that some in Transcendental Meditation had their word that they focused on.

The mind can go pretty much out of control and it's so helpful to just train it to go to someplace safe doing something like focusing on your breath.

Another wonderful,

Wonderful thing you can do with your breath is to go then deeper and deeper still to a higher place within,

To your soul,

And just be clear in your soul and take that time and energy that you might have spent worrying about things that could go wrong and from the objective observer,

Send it out to a higher place where you can see the best way to deal with the situation.

Most of the times when things are happening,

We can see things more clearly and put it in perspective when we're in a higher place of our objective observer.

So that's another thing you can do.

You go to your objective observer.

I'd say that's the second thing to do.

The third thing you can do is you can from there go deeper still and put that into a prayer.

Prayer is such a powerful tool to take something that is out of your control that you might be worrying about and just talking to the highest source,

Sending it to God and asking God to send what you need for the right energy for a positive outcome.

So a prayer and talking to God makes you feel like you're doing something and like it's not out of control and that you can call upon a higher force,

A higher energy to connect with that higher source and then release it and turn it over to that higher power of God.

Prayer is a beautiful gift to help if you are worrying.

Another wonderful tool to help when you're worrying is to be present,

To totally be in the right moment of here and now.

Lao Tzu said if you're depressed,

You're living in the past.

If you're anxious,

You're living in the future.

And if you're here in the presence,

You can just totally be away from the worry and the past and the future and be here now.

He didn't say all of that.

Living in the present is the wonderful gift of the presence and in the presence you can be full of this moment and it's amazing when you are in this moment,

Right here,

Right now,

How you feel like you're not spinning out of control.

You can be centered.

You can be in a place where you can come back to yourself.

And all of these work together beautifully,

By the way.

Another wonderful tool is using affirmations.

Affirmations give you a chance to take the positive spin,

The positive energy that you wish is the highest outcome and to phrase it in a way that is actually almost proclaiming it to be so in the positive sense.

Affirmations are very,

Very,

Very helpful.

And there's one other one that's a little harder to do.

It's the gift of just accepting where you are right here and right now.

This is something you learn after years of meditating and in Buddhism.

You learn that if you're just sitting right here and right now in the presence,

If you can just accept this very moment and be okay and be here now,

That you can find yourself stopping that incessant angst that you can create by worrying about something.

These are all wonderful tools you can use to keep yourself from taking all that positive energy and allowing it to go to a negative place.

You are in a way acting as an alchemist.

You're changing that lead into gold because you're taking something that be,

Well,

In many ways may be considered negative,

And you're turning it into something beautiful and positive.

You are manifesting the highest rather than taking your mind and allowing it to go to a negative state.

And of course,

The last and possibly most important thing is to meditate.

In the state of meditation,

All of these things are supercharged and more powerful to have happen.

The affirmation,

The being here now,

The ability to connect to the soul,

The ability to breathe and let your breath sweep your mind.

All of these things are available to you when you stop and meditate.

And in this state of meditation,

I can add one more thing that's really helpful to do that is really one of the reasons mindfulness has become so popular.

And that is just to do a body scan,

A mind scan,

To be aware of how your body feels,

Just to be aware.

Is there tension?

Where the tension is?

How that tension is affecting you?

How your legs feel?

How your feet feel?

How your thighs feel?

How your lower back feels?

How your stomach feels?

How your heart feels?

Your heart,

How does your heart feel?

And how does your mind feel?

How do your hands and your arms feel?

Be aware.

And once you're aware,

You can use your breath again,

Clear out any tension in your body and your awareness.

So those tools really are effective.

They work for everyone.

They work especially well for empaths since you're very sensitive to all these things.

Take some time,

Just take some time now and practice what we've been talking about.

Go into the silence.

Be here now.

Take that deep clearing breath and just breathe.

Just allow yourself to be.

Nothing at all is going on except the beauty of this present moment and being here now.

And be at peace with your inner self and go to that objective observer and dwell in that I am,

That I am presence there within.

And in this presence,

If you wish to connect to God,

That one ultimate source of all light and love,

Now ask for that presence to come into you.

And if you have a prayer you wish to say,

Now say that prayer now,

Framing it in a positive conversational tone,

Talking to God.

And turn it over to God's will and allow God to take care of that prayer in perfect time.

And just feel that burden released and freed and come back and allow yourself to scan yourself now and see how you feel now.

Just feel good.

And now feel how you've let all that negative energy go and you're filled with that positive light and love and absorb it and be it and become it.

And so it is.

Thank you for letting go of any of that worry and the negative energy and turning instead into a positive,

Wonderful way to be here now without worry,

Without care,

Knowing that everything is all right.
