Aloha,

I'm Rev.

Cindy Pallas and I've been sitting here watching the pouring rain.

It's been raining and raining.

It's been actually raining for a long time,

Weeks here in Maui.

But,

You know,

With every rain,

A blossom will grow.

And it has been awfully green,

Which is nice.

It kind of inspired me to do a talk about feelings and what we innately feel is fair and what we feel is unfair.

Now,

This is coming up a lot.

This has really been a huge subject because I've known many people who have passed on recently.

And I also have friends who have long-term COVID.

Good people,

I mean really good people.

One woman actually had to give up her job and she was doing wonderful work,

Very,

Very special work,

But she has long-term COVID.

And it makes you research your soul when you see some of these things happening.

You can't ignore the fact that there's suffering in the world.

And you look at Ukraine and see the stories there and you see what's happening in many places.

You see the earthquake in Turkey.

What really is going on is this huge,

Huge push for us to go into ourselves and go deeply inside and to find that way to connect with that part of us that can try to give us some answers to what's going on.

I can't help but think of the Marvin Gaye song,

Right?

What's going on?

So many years ago and here we are seeing some of the results of those questions he talked about in the song,

What's Going On?

And we can see,

In a way,

We're starting to see some of the consequences of the world and certain people being very greedy for supplies.

We're starting to see weather and the planet reacting to what's been happening on one level.

On another level,

What we're seeing is that there's more need for people to go into themselves and to pray and to try to do more work to help more people at this time.

You know,

Through history,

There's always been major battles and wars and plagues and famine,

But I think in our last 100,

200 years,

We kind of thought we'd gotten beyond that,

Right?

How many times have we thought we've gotten past things,

Only to find out,

No,

This is kind of part of what the world does,

What the planet does.

This planet has always had some suffering,

And the Buddha wouldn't have gone onto the path of Buddhism if he hadn't left his palace and seen all the suffering in the world.

So,

You know,

It took him a lifetime,

Pretty much,

I mean,

Decades,

To try to find the answers to why there is suffering.

And,

You know,

At some point,

At some point,

Even in his teachings,

After he achieved enlightenment,

He encouraged other people who came to him for help when they'd lost a loved one to go out and look around to all the villages and see anyone that hasn't endured suffering.

So do we just accept that?

Part of us has to,

Yes,

Sooner or later.

Part of us has to be able to go deep enough in ourself and to recognize that this world is a planet where there is a great deal of suffering.

Now,

Do you get out of it with enlightenment?

Hmm.

This is an interesting question to ponder,

And I think we can't ignore that since that was what the Buddha found as his answer.

I mean,

It'd be stupid to ignore what he found after his time on the path for so long.

Yes,

To a degree,

If you can go inside,

And if you can go to that point within where you can get beyond just the mind's world or the world of what we have perceived as what is right and wrong,

We can see beyond that into a higher level where we realize the soul isn't really feeling that suffering.

Part of our soul is understanding always,

So it does help to go into the soul.

And I do believe in prayer.

I do believe that when we can stop and go to that highest source,

To the Creator,

To God,

And turn ourselves over to that energy and just release ourselves to what is there,

The higher will or the higher love or whatever consciousness you wish to call it,

That something is taken off our shoulder.

The burden of release is kind of given off us to that higher source.

And we don't even know how much that helps.

I do know that when I have prayed in the past,

There have been prayers that have definitely helped.

But then there's been times where I prayed diligently and nothing was able to be done in this situation.

So you even learn if you're a long time on this path and a person who prays a lot that it's really not up to you.

It's in God's hands and you have to learn how to accept that.

Now how do we deal with that feeling when we've prayed and when we've looked within and then we lose someone we've loved?

You know,

And if you're evolved and you have gone on this meditation path for a while,

You probably realize that spirit goes on,

But it doesn't release you from the suffering and feeling of loss of someone.

So at some point you do have to go into this part of you that is feeling.

Now I know some practitioners on the path say that it's the feeling,

It's truly the feeling that gives what we are here.

The idea and the way to actually experience things in a way much higher than sometimes that the higher beings and angels can't necessarily have.

Because feelings are unique to our human race,

The way we feel.

And there is an impetus and a power in feeling.

This feeling is where our creativity can also be born from.

And it allows us to go deeply,

Deeply within.

And it can be painful.

I know for empaths especially,

You can get your feelings hurt very,

Very deeply.

And part of you,

Especially if you've been on the spiritual path,

Will want to shut out that pain.

You want to stop feeling that pain.

And you know that if you can go inside and go to that place of your soul and light,

You'll be away from the pain.

But then when you return back into your body and your mind and your consciousness and your feelings,

You haven't necessarily cured what you're feeling inside.

So then you have to bring back into your mind,

Into your consciousness,

Into your body,

Into your emotions and feelings that energy that you can grab from the highest source and put that light and that love that you can receive in that place of light to work in you to allow yourself to heal.

To heal from great sorrow.

To heal from great pain.

To heal from the suffering.

Because if you don't recognize and feel the feelings,

Then they can actually go into hiding and cause damage and disease.

And they can even cause lots of side effects you don't want to have happen.

So this is not an easy practice.

This is a practice that goes very,

Very,

Very deep.

I mean,

It could be the deepest of practices.

To have suffered,

To have lost,

To have been disappointed,

To feel betrayed,

And then still be able to go inside and see the importance of understanding and forgiving and releasing.

This takes great skill.

It takes great help.

But you can do a lot to alleviate that pain and suffering.

When you go inside and you meditate,

When you go inside and you pray,

When you learn,

Even though you don't feel like it,

That there's something inside you that can make you feel better.

And feeling better is good.

And feeling good is God.

So let's just take a few moments to explore that quietly as we turn off our outside senses and just get relaxed and just take away anything that may be distracting you for a moment.

Let's just go inside and feel good.

Breathing in,

Feeling good.

And just allowing yourself to be bathed in a wonderful,

Pure,

White light as you breathe out.

Let all of your body resonate with this wonderful frequency of light.

Let it go from your head to your toes.

Let it go up all your chakras.

Let it go above your head higher and higher and higher.

Let it go through you and down out the bottom of your feet.

Let it go in front of you and behind you on either side of you.

And allow yourself to be in a beautiful cushion,

A cocoon of light and love.

And feel that energy of light and love right in your very heart of your being.

Feel it.

Sense it.

Digest it.

Absorb it.

And allow yourself to feel free in this protective,

Wonderful space to go into that part of you that may be feeling life is unfair.

And let it come out.

Just see what's causing that anger and that frustration and all of that situation that may have made you feel that this is not fair.

Go to the root of it.

Go deeper and deeper and deeper.

And now as you are there in the depths of that feeling,

Maybe you'll even see some colors and have some energy.

And allow yourself to have those colors and energy.

But breathe into that energy the highest light of love.

And allow it to be bathed and enfolded in compassion and understanding.

And allow yourself to be consoled.

Allow yourself to be told by your highest part of you that it is going to be okay.

Now just take for a moment,

Allow yourself to really believe that it is okay.

Go to that space,

That highest place within your soul where everything is okay.

Feel okay.

Feel all right.

And as you begin to feel all right,

How does that come out?

Do you see a little more light pouring through?

Do you see your heart broken open to the love that now can come in and allow you to receive more love,

Be more love,

Believe in more love,

Heal from all the energy that you've been going through?

Tell yourself,

I love you.

Tell yourself,

You're okay.

I'm okay.

We're okay.

How does that feel?

For a moment allow that energy to go deeply into all of your being and feel like a burden has been released.

Lay your burden down at the foot of the master.

Just allow all of what you've been feeling and all of that pain and sorrow and suffering and anger,

Just put it outside of you and lay it.

Imagine yourself that there's a master in front of you that wishes to take that burden off you.

And let it go.

Just wrap up all of those burdens and the sorrow and the anger and the feelings.

Don't be afraid just to take it and let it go.

Release it.

And allow yourself to feel like you're allowing this wonderful energy to come in and the place where all of that energy was there before that wasn't good and be able to replace it with the good energy that you are able to be in connection with right now.

And now I want you to seal this energy.

I want you to seal it with light and love.

I want you to absorb it into your mind and into your lower chakras and to your heart and to all of your body.

And if any part of your body was holding pain from that disease and anger that was there,

Let it go now.

Let it be healed.

Send it more light and love because you have more light and love to send now.

And now let yourself feel how you feel.

How do you feel?

We're going to come out of meditation and another way to release is to write down what you feel.

And I want you to take some place somehow to let go of what you've been feeling and write it all down.

Get it out.

Ah,

Just do that.

And we slowly come back and we feel now much better.

We feel good.

We feel lighter.

We feel more full of love.

And we say,

Thank you God for taking this burden.

And I release it and let it go.

And so it is.

God bless you,

Beloved.

May you feel good.

May you feel the love that you are.
