Over this last year of intentionally interrupting intergenerational trauma in my family and releasing childhood traumas, I developed this list to help me gain focus during a trauma response, period of depression, or when seeking inspiration. This list of 15 items to stay balanced was originally called to stay afloat. That is just where my mind was at the time. I was having some intense trauma responses and needed cue cards to remind me of who I am and how I could bring myself back to being centered and grounded. I really like this list and others have shared that they really like the list too. I thought I would share it with you to see what you think. Does it resonate with you? I am here to help.

Good morning everyone.

I hope you're all having a great morning or a great day depending on what time zone you're in.

My name is Cindy Crow.

I'm going to introduce myself in my traditional language.

My name is Gwe Gaba Week Nindishnikaaz,

Aadik Nindodim,

Opwaaginaasin Nindonjibaa,

Niibin Nindonji.

My spirit name is Standing Strong.

I'm of the Caribou clan and I'm from the Red Rock Indian Band and I live here on this sacred land that I am recording from that I call Niibin,

Which means it is summer.

I'm very,

Very,

Very blessed to be here and yeah I'd like to start with that gratitude.

My gratitude to the land for protecting me and supporting me and inspiring me and making me laugh and yeah all of the above.

So I thought today I would share with you these 15 tips that I have.

I've developed this over the years to remind myself especially if I'm having a trauma response to something.

If I have this list then I can go to the list and pay attention to it and yeah see what I can do what I'm what I'm able to do.

I called it how to stay afloat.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna call it on Insight Timer but that's what I had called it and these aren't in any specific order.

I haven't done that yet.

I don't know that I would be able to distinguish which one is more important than the other.

I guess it would depend on where I was at with the trauma response or the depression or using it to maintain balance in my life.

It's interesting that the morning that I'm doing this I saw a blue well it's still there actually a great blue heron sitting up in a tree in a tree that doesn't have any leaves on it anymore that's not alive and to me when I see those long-legged birds it's about balance so it's a perfect time to be sharing this with you.

So number one music.

I find that music moves me a lot.

It can take me back to other moments in my life.

It can bring joy to me but yeah I find that music really changes the dynamics of where I'm at with my emotions.

Two,

Mother Earth staying in awe touching the earth.

So again I have the great pleasure to be living in this bush setting doesn't matter what window I look out of there's bush surrounding me and yeah I'm able to see the wildlife see the birds and it's very entertaining to me.

I'm like a little kid running around the house looking for my camera perhaps singing to them I get very very excited and animated.

Three,

Well I had a good reminder of this one this week mind my own business.

That includes no gossiping and no butting in.

So I'm a mom to five and a grandmother to three and it's a very hard lesson sometime when I think I know what's best for them when in essence it is their journey and it is their perfect journey and it has nothing to do with me.

So yep I had another harsh reminder this week about that.

Four,

Expressing my gratitudes.

I think this is one of the greatest ways to inspire yourself and keep yourself afloat and balanced is to express your gratitude.

So I do it you know when I'm talking to people I also will write it down and I also have some paintings that I've done.

Five,

Smudge morning and night.

So we're going to talk about this in a later session about smudging but yeah smudging is proven to remove bacteria from the air and it also helps us to release energies that are no longer serving us and it helps to bring our spirits up.

So smudging is very important.

Six,

Physical activity.

Yeah this is one that I am definitely struggling with right now.

I need to get myself moving.

I am waiting to adopt a dog,

A female black lab.

Her name is Charlie.

God willing that happens and I think she's going to encourage me to go outside and go for little walks.

Seven,

Watch the situation like it's a movie.

Unattached.

If you can detach emotionally that's the best way to do it.

So instead of watching the situation that you're in and and being impacted by it so much try and watch it like it's a movie and that it doesn't really have any impact on you.

This one takes a lot of practice.

Eight,

Reach out to a loved one.

So this is my go-to for sure.

I have a Sacred Circle group that we formed earlier in the year.

We meet every Wednesday at 4 p.

M.

Eastern Standard Time.

Feel free to reach out to me for the Zoom details of this.

It's a free virtual Sacred Circle for women,

Indigenous women,

Non-Indigenous women,

Trans women.

All women are invited to this Sacred Circle and that has proven to be very successful for me this year to have someone to reach out to,

My chosen family.

Nine,

Being my authentic self.

So perhaps at this point you're not sure who your authentic self is.

Definitely I would be very willing to help you with that.

So yeah again feel free to reach out to me and we can talk more about this in another track.

Ten,

Welcome in and embrace joy.

Now that might seem like a very easy thing to do but it takes conscious effort to remember to do it and to yeah invite joy in.

So I like to stand at my side door looking out at all the land and saying that yeah I welcome the rain for the health of my water well.

I welcome miracles.

I welcome love.

I welcome joy etc.

So that's a good one to keep in mind.

Eleven,

Be creative and stay connected.

So your creativity is is a way to your spiritual growth.

It truly is.

So whether you're doing something with your hands,

Whether you're writing,

I like to write,

I like to paint,

I'm in the process of working on a children's book.

There's lots of things that I like to do.

I like to make ribbon skirts.

Yeah there's lots of things that I like to do to be creative and so that helps me.

That helps me with my spiritual connection.

Twelve,

Surrender to the process and surrender to the outcome.

That is another huge one.

So turning it over to Creator.

Turning the situation over to Creator.

Let Creator figure it out.

I have found over the years that what I think might be the best solution for me turns out to not be the best solution.

This property is a perfect example of that.

I had my heart set on another property that's further away.

I was sure that that was the one that Spirit wanted me to buy and it wasn't working out.

It wasn't working out and the animals were starting to tell me that it wasn't it wasn't the right property and we're gonna have other sessions about that as well.

Animal Spirit Guides.

And then so many years later this property came up for sale and there's a bit of a long story to that but this is the perfect place for me and I'm so grateful.

Number thirteen,

Spirit is taking care of my financial needs and my dreams.

So that is another form of surrender rather than focusing on income mechanisms which I have been doing my entire life.

I am now focusing on what my passions are.

I love my passion projects and I leave it up to Spirit to to bring in the finances.

Maybe that's through a speaking engagement which I love to do.

Maybe it's through a hands-on workshop like making a dream catcher.

Any of these things and so that's a way to meet my financial needs.

Fourteen,

Don't give my power away.

Keep my power.

What do you think that means?

I think that power is a word that I used to have a problem with.

I now think of power as power equals love.

Love and action.

That's how I see power now and so yeah don't give my power away to someone else.

So if somebody is trying to get into my head and trying to distract me from the important work that I am intending to do then yes I'm giving my power away to that individual.

There's other examples as well.

And finally fifteen,

Probably one of the hardest ones on this list for me.

Forgive myself and others.

It is definitely hardest to forgive myself.

I have been utilizing the Ho'oponopono prayer this year.

I like the version with the Hawaiian elder who explains it very very well.

Let me know if you would like access to that.

I'm happy to share that that version with you.

And I would love to hear any feedback that you have about this list.

Did anything on here resonate with you?

Did you have any questions?

Please let me know.

I really want to hear from you.

I really want to hear your thoughts.

I really want us to get a conversation going.

So I hope you all have a great day.

I hope this brings you some some assistance,

Some wisdom,

Some spark of resonance within your life.

And yeah we'll talk to you soon.

I'm going to say minna wa gawaba min,

Which is see you later.

Take care.

Hi Cindy Tgankbii you ou I really enjoyed listening to this list. It supportive in nits suggestions and also that you are speaking from personal experience, which is a reminder that it’s normal and natural in this world to need to step back and gain balance. Needing to do so is OK. That’s what I need to tell my self and your talk really supports this. Thank you 🙏

Thank you thank you thank you, I really needed this today as I am so overwhelmed with what is happening in my beautiful country. This will help me to "never give my power away," "stand firm and strong in my convictions of who I am," and "observe it like a movie."

Favorite meditation I’ve heard on this app— these reminders were invaluable. My favorites were “mind your business” and “observe life like it’s a movie.” Would love the Hawaiian elder prayer if you are able to share. 🙏🏽♥️

Thank you for this gift. I really need it today. Such a great list! I feel like I could have written this one myself, it speaks so strongly to my own life understanding and values. But there's a quote somewhere about the most powerful ideas being the simplest (and therefore feeling obvious) and I think that's why this feels so familiar to me and others; it's deceptively powerful. I am so glad you had the inspiration to record it and the strength and generosity to share it. Thank you. I would love to hear more (I also love Ho'oponopono and the one you mentioned sounds really powerful too). Keeping this bookmarked for regular reminders. Thank you
