Meditation is to inquire into the self deeply,
Fundamentally.
Understand ourselves.
Understand the world,
Which is me.
Me is the world.
Meditation is a long journey.
One has to be alone,
Stand alone,
To learn to understand what is really going on in this world.
Why it is so chaotic?
Why it is so turbulent?
Why it's so confusing?
You can't rely on anybody else to give you an answer.
You have to find out all by yourself.
So this session is really being alone together.
Let's find out.
Understand the self deeply.
For most people,
Inquiring into the self is never easy.
The vanity,
The arrogance is blocking one,
Turning inward.
Most people always seeking out of the way,
Finding all kinds of excuses,
Believing.
The ego is upon believing.
An egocentric mind is incapable of self-inquiry.
Without the self-inquiry,
The mind is confused,
Keeping creating all kinds mischief,
Not only to oneself,
But to everybody.
No wonder such an egocentric society,
It's full of all kinds of challenges.
People become more and more individual,
Separated and isolated.
Without this inquiry,
This understanding,
Which requires a huge amount of humility,
None of the issues can be solved.
Because all the issues come from the mind,
This inner world.
Without understanding this,
Simply seeking out of the way is mere self-deception.
As we already see what is going on in this world,
Politically,
Economically,
All kinds of nonsense,
All kinds of self-deception,
Everyone is suffering.
Or else people won't seek pleasure so crazily,
Don't they?
If the mind doesn't suffer,
The mind has no reason to seek pleasure.
Because the pleasure is only an escape.
An escape from something the mind can't face.
If the mind doesn't suffer,
The mind is free.
Free of all kinds of fear.
There's nothing to escape.
That's why in this world,
Pleasure is so important.
Because the mind needs pleasure to escape the suffering.
But unfortunately,
An escape can't solve the issue,
Can't end the suffering.
The more one escapes,
The more issues mount.
